Introducing Blank Canvas, a new campaign dedicated to collaborating with artists from across the globe to imprint their creative vision on our blank neckwear and caps. This season, we are launching with seven artists, bringing their unique style and vision to life. You can read more about their stories and see what they’ve created below.
ALEXANDRA NICOLE
Alexandra Nicole is a wildlife biologist turned artist whose work spotlights the landscapes and wildlife of the south with a strong nod to the coast where she grew up.
She started fishing around the age of 4 with her father, where they cruised the intercoastal waterway cast netting for shrimp, sight fishing triple tail, and targeting red drum. Those early days on the water laid the foundation not only for her love of the coast but her lifelong obsession with fishing.
Her angling career progressed naturally from bluegill on crickets, to redfish on shrimp, to tarpon on fly. Fishing has deeply connected her to places and people around the world and is the primary inspiration for her artwork. She creates in the hope that her art acts as a bridge of connection between people and the natural world as well as inspire others to see the beauty and value in wild places and wild things.

DEREK DEYOUNG
Born on a Bayou near the shores of Lake Michigan, Derek DeYoung was drawn to two things as a child: art and fishing. For Derek, fishing trips aren’t just about chasing the perfect catch. While chestdeep in a river, he’s searching for inspirational experiences and visions within the colors and patterns of the fish he catches. After returning the fish to the water, Derek takes those visions back to his studio to recreate them on canvas.
Rob Benigno is an artist and fly angler from Buffalo, NY. Rob combines his lifelong passion for art with his love of fishing and the great outdoors.
With this collection, he has channeled everything he loves drawing most into wearable art that reflects a deep love for the outdoors, aquatic environments, and their inhabitants. 10% of sales from the Captains Blue design will be donated to support Captains for Clean Water.
