Let Summit do your Medicaid

BY SUMMIT HEALTH CARE SOLUTIONS

As a former Nursing Home Administrator, current President of Summit Health Care Solutions Darlene Maclay witnessed firsthand the complex, stressful, and time-consuming process families faced when applying for Medicaid for loved ones. She saw numerous applications denied, leaving families feeling as though their only option was to hire a lawyer with expensive fees to guide them through the process. So, in 2002, she founded Summit Health Care Solutions.

Over the past twenty years, Summit has represented more than 30,000 families and has grown to be the largest firm providing Medicaid representation and planning in New York. Summit’s compassionate case managers and Medicaid experts have consistently provided families with personal service and peace of mind. Vice President Kate Schaefer and Director of Operations Laura Laurrie have worked with Maclay for more than fifteen years, along with a team of case managers who each bring more than ten years of Medicaid experience. Maclay herself has been a Certified Medicaid Planner since 2015. Medicaid isn’t just something Summit does—it’s all it does. What sets Summit apart? Maclay understands the value of precious time spent with loved ones after their admission to a facility, so her business model ensures families can do just that. The Summit team prides itself on doing all the work and doesn’t expect the families to do it for them. Summit understands the emotional challenges of having an elderly loved one in a facility and believes its job is to put families at ease. When you call Summit, you don’t deal with an outof-town call center or an answering machine; you speak to a Summit Medicaid Expert. When you work with Summit, one of these compassionate, experienced experts is assigned to you, and your time is spent with your loved one—not collecting documentation. When asked why some families hire lawyers to represent them for Medicaid or for Medicaid planning instead of turning to Summit, Maclay is quick to answer: “Families simply don’t realize that there is a more experienced, compassionate and affordable alternative—we are the best kept secret in New York.” And Maclay says, “If your loved one is home, healthy, and looking for an estate plan, call your attorney. If your loved one is in a facility or waiting to be placed, call Summit today.” FY
