The work with this film is a primer in the difference between Kyusho and Dim Mak, as they are not based on the same targets. It is a continuation of the 6-Ji Hands and Iron Shirt study and films available through Budo International. The 6 Ji Hands that are prevalent throughout an art called Pangai-Noon or Uechi Ryu. It is one of the very few styles that contain and focus on these specific hand positions to get to the Deeper Tissue of the body. This film shows the use of hands not as bludgeons, but rather daggers with the transitional torqueing type power utilized in the 6 Ji Hands* to properly use Kyusho‌ this is a missing facet in most Kyusho practitioners skill sets. 8 KO's (including compression and blood KO's). "If you do not have inner freedom, what other freedom do you expect to have?" Arturo Graf n front of the great forces of history we are all dwarfs. Like a Tsunami, individuation came as a natural conquest of evolution and it brought along the idea of freedom. Beyond cultural factors, this has been an unstoppable planetary process. However, the process of individual consciousness awakening did not come easily. Similar to an ignition, it requires a spark that can ignite in the proper frame. The East, in this sense, was always behind: many dead and even two atomic bombs were needed to break Japan's rigid sociospiritual structures, the Soviet Union crumbled by fusion and wear... China by evaporation, by necessity and ambition. The stage came promulgated by the "Fire" times we are living. Ancient civilizations mentioned this phase with sonorous names: Apocalypse ‌ Kali Yuga ‌ Heat, acceleration, expansion, energy-intensive, illumination, exposure of what is inside matter, reheating, fusion, fission, etc. The models of each culture succumbed to the action of this dominant element according to its nature: Japan as element Earth / Fire, Soviet Union as Metal, China as Water ... But freedom is a complicated genius, because though it's rather hard to get him out of the lamp, once he's out, nobody can put him back in. Such a strong longing only takes place with the awakening of the individual's conscience. Contrary to what many people think, individuation occurs by pressure, and that is what generates the idea of freedom and not the other way around. All ignition requires pressure, reaching a certain threshold; and it tightens the atoms, which accelerate and transmute their nature, or transfigure it into an explosion, a flare, which exposes their contain. But despite the universality of this process, the outcome is not always the same, not only because of the nature of the countries, but also because of the particular signature of each individual. Each of us, bombed by the experiences of life, takes off what he or she has inside. No two snowflakes are alike, much less beings as complex as humans. In the same framework, each one, a spirit living a material life, must evolve or involute in the framework of his or her personal process. There are, however, very astute categorizations that divide the population pyramid into groups. The most abundant, which occupies the base, is the one defined by many schools as "sleepers". Others less subtle call them "slaves", automatons that repeat processes, thanks to predominantly primary instincts. The success of the zombie films and series is a cry of the collective unconscious, on that widespread level of conscience reality in our days. The second, infinitely scarcer, is that of the "awakened ones", also called "initiates," who, having reached a level of conscious individuation, have used it to go "inward and

I

"No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it." Albert Einstein. upward" in a process not without effort, frequently painful, and certainly of ignition. At the top of the pyramid sits a tiny group of "Masters", who in their ascension, have had to detach themselves from almost all their human nature, in a decantation, which necessarily transfigured their personal reality, at levels almost unimaginable for the rest of the mortals; its actions and objectives surpass normality. Just by way of curiosity ... there is also an inverted pyramid, whose components you can already imagine what they are up to. Individuation is a threshold in the evolution of this planet, the yearning for freedom, a direct consequence of such awakening. Sooner or later, everything that has opposed these forces has been defeated, because the times in our stellar trip in the ship Earth, the places along which we pass, demand from us to change in a specific direction. It's good that each of us, small specks of dust in this common process, take note of all this, because when choosing to position ourselves or ally with our fellow men, when choosing our path, we will always find the peculiar signatures of the place that each occupies in the pyramid. We are all where we have to be, but we don't necessarily have to remain there. That is the beauty of freedom; therein lies all its strength. Freedom, however, is not a collective dream, but an individual dream. It must arise from the inside out, and every time you try from the outside in, it always ends unfailingly badly. There is always some wise guy who, in the name of the common good, is willing to eliminate any sliver of freedom, telling you how you should live your life. Therefore, freedom can be lived out in group only when the individuals who make up the unit are mostly aware and possess a sufficient level of personal development. Since everything is relative and there are no absolutes in here, we can simply perceive its presence or absence by looking at the history of societies and how these are predominantly dominated by one or another trend in relation to this subject. Freedom, as a result of individual awakening, is a healthy fruit; waving its flag, or any other "Truth", or the simple fact of trying to impose it, is an absolute contradictio in terminis. The "saviors" and sellers of easy solutions, turn out to be much more harmful than beneficial. When a guy tries to impose his creed on others, someone is throwing filth to the fan. Necessity is a tough master, but it's fair, it never deceives you. Those who are miserable, even in their success, will be miserable. The downside of a rat race is that even if you win, you'll still be a rat. The lofty thing in evolution is that nothing remains stable; in front of that force, it advances or moves back, grows or involutions. Even Prometheus paid a price for his daring, but without man's intervention, what would become of gods?

“Freedom is a complicated genius, because though it's rather hard to get him out of the lamp, once he's out, nobody can put him back in.

What animates the Universe is the abyss and the ascension, the change, the transmutation, the eternal struggle of darkness and light, where, on the other hand, nothing is as it seems. A too complex game to be simplified with anodyne recipes; however well-intentioned these may be, they will cannibalize your lucidity and will put it to serve the interests of others. Freedom is an impulse, not an achievement, because all freedom is relative, all freedom is a matter of degrees and those degrees depend on the nature and level of each one. So, freedom and conscience have to be matched because they are indissociable.

Once again we bring to our front page this magnificent expert and tireless traveler, who has prompted a great deal of interest around him with his exciting teachings on the Russian Martial Art that is waking more expectations in the exper ts' international community nowadays. Master Skogor ev pr esents with this ar ticle a series of videos r ecor ded during some of his trips to Europe and America in the years 2015 and 2016 being this the pr eamble of his imminent trip to the

central studies of Budo International for the production of new videos before next summer. A long awaited meeting - we had detected long ago the great interest that Master Skogorev's work arouses among our readers -, only delayed by the innumerable commitments undertaken by him in the latter years. We leave you with this interesting and extensive article, inviting you in advance to be attentive to the new works that will be released before the end of the year, with this exceptional martial artist, true reference of his style around the world. Alfredo Tucci Five reasons, why I choose the Russian Martial Art Systema Sibirskiy Viun 1. Systema RMA Sibirskiy Viun is an intellectual combat system with a methodological approach, staggered and consistent with the student's education and age. 2. Systema RMA Sibirskiy Viun contains the knowledge of the ancient Slavs with a modern scientific approach. This is psychology and philosophy, biomechanics and nervous physiology. 3. Systema RMA Sibirskiy Viun respects the student's personality. It’s his choice – It’s a law for Sibirskiy Viun School. 4. Systema RMA Sibirskiy Viun joins in itself: the old "Russian style", self-defense, and tactical military training. 5. Systema RMA Sibirskiy Viun has an individual approach, professional school lessons, and teacher certifications. Dmitri Skogorev is the leader and founder of the Russian School of Martial Arts Systema "Sibirskiy Viun". Since 1988 he’s President of the International Center of Russian Art of Combat (Russian Martial Arts Center). I am a practical, precise person; I practiced the Russian fighting art since 1988. In 1980 I began my training in "Sambo", Karate. I started my own workout in the art of fighting, practically when I was 14 years old. In the USSR, the Russian art of fighting was opened to the outer circle of the Russian people, in what it was called "realignment". At that time there were great changes in the country and they started to open taboos (запретные) in the field of the fighting arts (боевом). Before the 1987 in the USSR, Karate could only be practiced in a gym, under the supervision of the instructor, and especially in the army. I started practicing Sambo fighting (самбо) in the military society "Dynamo". Later, I practiced Karate in the "Petrel" society.

Self-defense

Self-defense These workouts allowed me to develop my first fighting skills and provided me with a good preparation for my future education. I left aside my friends and I tried my way in Russian Martial Arts and sports. From 1986 to 1988 I made the compulsory military service in the Soviet army, where I learned hand-to-hand combat. At that time I said that there was not yet a good hand-to-hand combat training system. My civil experience helped me a lot. In the army I shared training with an enthusiastic group of midshipmen interested in fighting arts. I already had some experience. Before the military service, I had learned at school, in the "voluntary patrol” for the maintenance of the public order. When I started practicing and training consciously (осознонно) Combat Arts, I deepened into the hand-to-hand fighting systems. I certainly was particularly attracted by this kind of practice. And in this disciplines, I was particularly interested in the internal mechanical components. I also was interested in the psychology and the energy of people. But it was a type of training pretty much similar to the ancient cultural tradition of Russia: the presence of the great legacy of military structures, where combat was used in combination with psychology; a special closed training system of the army and military subdivisions. 1. Systema RMA Sibirskiy Viun is an intellectual combat system with a methodological approach, staggered and consistent with the student's education and age. Today, the school has a logistics program (выстроенные) for the learning of the Russian Fighting Art Systema RMA Sibirskiy Viun. The first program was printed in 1993. It was a unique document for the performance of all instructors of the Systema RMA Sibirskiy Viun School. This was something revolutionary at that time. But nowadays, many Russian Fighting Art schools do not even have the most primitive programs. Some schools, even among the most wellknown ones, generally have no programs, no development plans. All are based on the authority and the personal power of the school's main teacher. We do not have this approach, so the school has a variety of programs at present. Each program responds to the age level (children, adolescents and adults). Apart from the

Self-defense implementation of the training program, the school has another parallel discipline. Education is controlled by performing a competitive athletic action - especially for children and adolescents. Adult students participate in significant appearances in hand-to-hand combat, and they must pass the technical qualification. Several seminars are organized throughout the year in the Russian Fighting Art. Adult students participate in the knife fighting tournament. This is a unique athletic activity for adult students since 2006. The hand-to-hand contact competitions (with punches) that were carried out before 2006 have been eliminated. The reason is the high demand for security for competing in hand-to-hand combats. Fists techniques remain in the training system and are practiced in the school group. What distinguishes the Systema RMA Sibirskiy Viun from other school? The school has always maintained the approach based on knowledge and professional training. People with primitive thought do not choose our school. They simply fail to understand the sense of spiritual growth of the school. The school never puts the physical power above the intellect. People practicing in the school are not anxious to win by all means. Basic Principle: Umey falls organically into a given situation and solves it in its own benefit, without destroying the hostile structure. This is just a principle that is reflected in the name of the school Systema RMA "Sibirskiy Viun." The name RMA "Sibirskiy Viun" didn't appear by chance. Briefly, it can be described as follows: Sibirskiy (Siberian) refers to a regional attribute. Siberia means "sleepy land" (in Turkish languages). "Viun", as a symbolic plant, symbolizes immortality, courage, glory, probity and independence. Bunch of grapes or hop flower. In ancient times, the grape bunch of symbolic tradition indicated the grace of God (Божья благодать - Bozh'ya blagodat'), but in the north, where the grape does not grow, instead of bunch, it's expressed by the name of Flower of Hop, in Bazlov GN. Hop is a climbing plant that fills the space and grows spirally upwards, moving from one plane in the space to another. Each complete lap symbolizes an output at a new level of development. "Viun" - hops, has a very flexible stem that stretches into space, while taking care of adopting the most appropriate slope for its future growth and development. It will paralyze the system if its surrounding is hostile, without destroying its structures. It will deprive it of any kind of movement exter nal or inter nal. "Viun" is equally associated with the flexibility of perception, behaviors and actions. It is the ability to find the correct and optimal variant at a specific time on a specific point in space.

Autodefensa Hops are considered to be the spiritual plan that connects the person with the spiritual world. It is used in the preparation of a drink that results in a change of consciousness - "инокость" - ("inokost", another condition). This condition equalizes the condition of wrestlers participating in a ritual challenge. The fermentation effect changes the interaction rhythm. It has always been considered that in alcoholic beverages lives the spirit of a jumper. The ascent. There is still another symbol in the school: the white wolf. Two wolves (one white and one black) fighting internally - бьющихся - an ancient symbol of the unique combat. According to the legend, when the warrior passes his initiation at 21, it is considered that the two wolves fight in his heart. The winner will be the one that will remain in the heart of the warrior. Thus, in life, the person chooses the light or the dark road. So, in symbology, the white and light wolf is present to our side. The wolf is considered to be the keeper of knowledge and the driver to a better world. Likewise, it is a symbol of victory over the three mortal sins: "Envy", "Anger" and "Unyniem". Envy - there is a desire to own what does not belong to us. Anger - fury, vindictiveness, evil memory, slander. "Unyniem"- physical and spiritual laziness, unwillingness to live. The root of these three sins is "Gordynya" or Pride. Position load: "I'm worse than the others." "Gordynya" is characterized by two parameters: the person puts himself above the others or, on the contrary, considers himself worse than the others. And there, when someone becomes "worse than other", it appears "Envy" (the desire to steal), which generates "Cholera" (the desire to kill), and this in turn generates "Discouragement", which is a manifestation of weakness. The wolf personifies victory over these conditions or the victory over "fear". The ascent. I would like to say a few words about the remarkable technique in Russian Martial Arts, as many people have a false perception that has been formed in these last years. The hand-to-hand combat hitting techniques in our Systema RMA Sibirskiy Viun are only a part of the general system. We do not cultivate "Awe". Controlling the person's psyche is more effective than physical pain. On the one hand possible through striking techniques to solve many psychological problems. But on the other hand, on the contrary, it can aggravate the process. The person who takes blows constantly becomes a "slave" of them. This is a natural psychological process. This pertains to a unilateral testing of the demonstration of a blow on the person. If hereinafter process there's no fisticuffs, or the mutual possibility to answer with a counterattacking

Self-defense blow, this brings about perverted forms of the blow notion in the hand-to-hand fighting systems. The Persons, who inflicts the strong blow, causes on his opponent a false respect before a rough power and the animal "Fear" appears before the "Power". The person who uses his blows with impunity becomes "master of the slave", which is ready to follow the "master". But the "master" will always require from his "slave" with honor and without fear to get his share of such punishment. Such positions of the deal answers an animal instinct - "who is stronger (сильнее), that and rights". Or appears statement: you should suffer, but unless you want to really suffer, just take the situation unconditionally. Give in. This is the "slave" psychology. The Suppression of the person's personality

by physical superiority - the most primitive and low-lying mechanism. But the simplest. And so, a "reverential fear" is introduced at the control level as a larva in the person. There is no need to be a great master to punish the person painfully. The intellect is absent in this scheme. However, the RMA Sibirskiy Viun School exposes respect and treatment based on professional knowledge and skills. But, unfortunately, most people in this world respect the physical power and stupid submissiveness to the strongest. It is a lack of will to even take the least responsibility from your decisions in this life. So the second educational principle of the RMA Sibirskiy Viun School is the ability to take responsibility for our actions and decisions. Our school differs, in the opinion of

Self-defense authoritative people in combat arts, for its system and its structured approach. This school is one of the few that has graceful and logical methods of teaching Russian Martial Arts. There is a general program for pupils for all branches of the school in different countries. The training methods designed for the subdivisions of the Tax Police body are those of the Federal Service approved by the Government for the Russian police forces in Moscow (3/114 from 06.20.97), as well as the Russian police forces in the Novosibirsk area (134/18 from 12.5.97) and Novosibirsk special militias secondary school (HOME OFFICE to Russia 19 from 7.05.97). The School currently trains people in all population groups, including children (детьми). Younger children are 5 years old. In the school they develop discipline and the first movement skills. The art of fighting in the Russian system differs from other systems in the following parameters: "Absence of concrete acceptance against concrete action (there are the main basic actions based on natural law)." "Absence of power against power (the ability to feel the power and control it)." "Ability to work in all situations (the situation is constantly evolving over time and space)." 2. The RMA Sibirskiy Viun contains the knowledge of ancient Slavs in conjunction with modern scientific approach: Psychology and Philosophy (философия). Biomechanics and Nervous Physiology.

We have studied the knowledge of ancient Slavs, Russians and other modern Slavic traditions. First, there is the manly fighting tradition. This is immutable. In fact, everything is very simple. The boy is a future warrior. He is a warrior because at a determined moment he will have to protect his Fatherland and his People. The Fatherland - a territory in which the People live. So appeared the tradition of upbringing the warrior from childhood. This process has been long and interesting. Everything started with games. There existed certain temporary milestones: before 7 years, 7, 14, 21, etc. This subject needs to be considered in detail and we won't expand on it now. This knowledge is the key "secret technique". Many schools study the Russian Fighting Art. But few Western instructors come to know this Russian tradition. Those who come to study in Russia and in particular get on our seminars, can see and participate (поучаствовать ) in these ancient events. On several occasions we've had with us students and instructors from Germany, Italy, France, England, Israel and Lebanon. For them it was like a kind of revelation and initiation in the unadulterated world of the Russian Fighting Art. The tradition of the knowledge and use of the old rite, our limit of genetic memory open to us. This is a great power that does not yield to any description. But together with that, our school of modern Russian Martial Arts "Sibirskiy Viun" is one of the first Russian Martial Arts schools, which appeared in the USSR in 1988. The Basis of our system is the military art. The closest thing that we had known so far was the knowledge of some aspects of the art of the hand-to-hand combat, in institutions such as the National Security Committee, HOME OFFICE, MINISTRY OF DEFENSE and others. We had ancient knowledge dating back to our grandfathers, veterans of the Great War. But, of course, there was a historical research of the pre-revolutionary experience (before 1917), as well as the post-revolutionary experience (in the '20s). Already then it existed the "Cамбо" "Sambo" - there were two versions: Harlampieva and Spiridonova. We also had a more complex and more available layer of stories and traditions, princely squadrons, Cossacks, and other traditional stories. We took all this and put it to work. But it needed a historical and scientific foundation. This was a very complex operation. It was a very complex operation. Everything was done slowly and leisurely. In structuring the system, or, more accurately, the systems, many disciplines and components came in - chemistry, physics, history,

Self-defense medicine and many others. One of the most important disciplines was biomechanics, as well as psychology, both traditional and alternative. One of the most important disciplines was biomechanics. Of course, dividing psychology into traditional and unconventional is not an easy task, but even so, it happens. This refers to the understanding and use of a given parameter within a given structure. As for alternative psychologies, I mentioned them using their most natural name. It's what we all know and use often but not always we understand its action mechanisms. Here is essentially the description of the mechanisms that concern us. In this main theme - so as not take a personal attitude in front of the action and look at the fine threads of a tradition on which one or another mechanism are formed, I called this modern ethnographic technology. Were rites and traditions what conditioned people? These are untimely questions, and there are answers to them. This gives us an insight into living in our time. The key position is the attitude of the person with the person, and the person with the situations. More precisely: the attitude I take "referring to the world, and to the world that belongs to me." If the world takes me, I take the world. Or I take the world and the world takes me. Interaction is a judgment action. Interaction is a joint action and a common decision on general tasks. Public wisdom creates exactly in verbal form many key moments for psychology. If we pay attention to popular sayings, we see that this is reflected in them. And sometimes we seem to understand it. But in control situations, quite often, we simply cannot figure out what sense they may have.

"What is weak will break in the end" It refers to the insufficient attention from one of the parts in his/her actions or in the operation (the mechanism). The external circumstance of power tears the weak section. In short, everything collapses, although the remaining parts of the operation (the mechanism) remain strong and stable.

"Finding the fulcrum" The Great Art - learning to find the supporting point (this currently refers not only to the firm position in the usual understanding, but also to the psychic condition). The fulcrum or point of contact ("density" point) in every aspect (physical and mental) cannot have a fixed position in space. It often has a feature: that of being shifted in space and time.

"One never steps twice into the same river" Or "Everything flows, everything changes" in our lives. No situation remains the same. Either it becomes debilitated, or it increases. It all depends on our understanding, the acceptance of that or any other things that surround us. In our treatment we use the Russian military tradition or, in another well-respected form, the male military tradition. This is a spiritual mentality, a full feeling, part of the cultural heritage of the people to whom you belong. In this there's a psychological form and a philosophical form, which are closely interwoven with each other and unite. Russia seems to have lost this relationship between generations and tradition. At least we have allowed that this should remain in a certain measure to a family level, but this is our power, both physical and spiritual.

Self-defense In practical applications we work with model interaction. At a physical level it's always possible to illustrate conversely the psychological actions. We demonstrate and say, the way the condition intrinsically controls the external physical movement. The way to control and use the enemy's power against him. The way to understand the "vacuum" (softness) and the "density" (hardness). The distance and time for action responses. What will arise from the human movement, and as a consequence, from the situation. From then on, what will be the most effective way to control a given situation. As a whole - an enormous work on control, not just physical power but also consciousness. This broad, complex speech requires special attention before any event. For those who are interested, there are separate articles on these subjects. 3. Systema RMA Sibirskiy Viun respects the student's personality. It’s his choice – It’s a law for Sibirskiy Viun School. The Interaction Principle between the school and the student. We talked about the personality of the student residing in the school. It is very important not to break mentally the student. There is no need to try to force somebody to adopt a particular opinion - it's not a question of inculcating fanatically ideas or beliefs. The school always gives the option. Our world is multifaceted and varied. The fact that there are people who don't agree or don't understand doesn't mean that this is not good. It should be remembered that in the world, every stone and every tree

occupy their own place, regardless of our desires. The image of the world can be that of people who differ and we need to know how to interpret it. So there is always a choice in this world. But our choice depends on the presence of our inner power. If there is no spiritual and physical power, you will come to a wrong conclusion, or in a difficult or completely impossible way. The School, in the educational process, uses the principle of internal personal power. When a student or an instructor from other Russian Fighting Art school comes to RMA School Sibirskiy Viun, his merit and his level are not taken into account. Regardless of the knowledge he has, he is obliged to attend the training course and get the qualification in the RMA Sibirskiy Viun school program. The School accepts instructors from similar schools just once; there is no second chance. But it doesn't mean that we do not recognize the scholastic teachings of another Russian Martial Art. Simply the instructor

must know the details of our school and deeply understand our teaching methods, the biomechanics of Russian hand-to-hand fighting, and the cultural tradition. All the skills of the other schools are useful. If the student or the instructor is attending seminars and training sessions at other Russian Arts Combat School is no impediment. The only condition is that the instructor must communicate to us his intentions. We are ready to work and cooperate with any school technically interesting and not only in Russian Martial Arts. 4. The Systema RMA Sibirskiy Viun unites in itself: the old "Russian style", self-defense, and tactical military training. The RMA School Sibirskiy Viun possesses a wide range of school programs, designed for groups of different ages in various thematic aspects. The main program is calculated on education at the age of six (шестилетние). The old Russian style - a collection of traditional appearance meant for the civilian population, the method of undertaking all kinds of competitions in peacetime: holiday games, tournaments, fighting with special rules, fistfights and wrestling; fighting in groups; stick fighting. All this as a natural demonstration of dexterity and tactical attitude. This was promoted and led to the preparation of the male population, who had the ability to act as a shoulder-to-shoulder group, to carry out commands, to maintain training and to use security and defense skills. For children - an aspect of childhood initiation in the warrior's life (14 years). Knowledge occurs with the traditional notion, and in the form of games they develop gradually the skills of the hand-to-hand combat Self-defense - Hand-to-hand combat for civilians. The group learning program takes into account the aspects of personal safety and self-defense. There is a general sixyear education program. A program with and without weapons at different distances comes on stream. We work mainly with knife, pistol, stick and rope. Sometimes we work out with everyday items, we use everyday life tools and various home objects for defense. We practice defense against various attacks, as well as the teamwork. We use mutual assistance (взаимовыручку). Military tactical training - specialized program with specifications (security structures, police, military subdivisions). Tactical training. Working with a weapon. Automatic weapons. The shootout. This subject doesn't require a description in the text. For a full understanding of the Russian Fighting Art, you need to become familiar with all these three aspects. And we introduce all the students in them. All groups are involved in their programs. 5. Systema RMA Sibirskiy Viun has an individual approach, professional school lessons, and teacher certifications. All students who start their tutoring at the RMA Sibirskiy Viun School, the first year are trained on the general program of a six-year instruction. The basics of the course are studied during this period. The different thematic seminars along the year are founded on hand-to-hand combat, Russian fighting traditions and Psychologies. About the third year student has mastered the basic training and during this time individual consultations and personal recommendations start. In some countries there are also Open Courses for Instructors Training. They are obliged to pass the training course within a specified period of time. Technical qualification is delivered at the end of the year, after which they are awarded by category.

Self-defense

Categories are divided as follows: A2 - Assistant Instructor - Instructor Category 4. B2 Instructor Category 3. B - Instructor Category 2. C2 - Instructor Category 1. - "Candidate Master" - "Master". In Russia, categories differ from those in Europe and America, which are divided as follows: A2 - Basic level - Full Basic Level. B2 - Assistant Instructor, Instructor Category 2. C2 - Instructor Category 1. - "Candidate Master" - "Master". - In Russia, the right to instruction has an instructor with the В Categories and Superiors. Initial categories - an initial basic step. The qualification of an instructor in the whole world cannot be less than 3. If the qualification is not passed, the instructor stops presenting the RMA Sibirskiy Viun school and loses the right to teach and to represent the school. The Leader of the school RMA Sibirskiy Viun leaves for himself the right to lead a qualified instructor outside of the completion of the duration of the certificate, reported by this instructor not less than for 2 months. The Separate category - National representatives of the RMA Sibirskiy Viun School in other countries: 1. After passing the qualifications, the leader of a RMA Sibirskiy Viun School Branch has the right to use the original school teaching methods according to the school program in his organization (officially registered, society without registration). 2. This Agreement is issued granting an additional document (special authorization) on the representative for one year (for three years). After (прошествии) this period it will be necessary to get a new permission, otherwise the agreement will be unilaterally canceled. 3. With the signature given, the private citizen or the organization become members of the main organization ("Systema RMA Sibirskiy Viun School"), which in turn grant them a special authority. There is a list of duties and rights of the Leaders of the Sibirskiy Viun School. The School has always put its assignment as a professional instruction and education center, for which a compulsory qualification process is required. You must always attend the school. Leaping classes with the consequent low qualifications, incomprehension and deficiencies, is very unlike professional instructors who actually understand the process of education, and the school rejects to that type of students. So the main task of the RMA Sibirskiy Viun school is not that of issuing instructor certificates to a great amount of people, but training high quality professional instructors, even if it's in a reduced number. Much attention is paid to the human quality of the instructor. Probably this is the most important thing. Dmitry Skogorev President of Systema RMA Sibirskiy Viun. President of the International Center of Russian Martial Art.

The crane avoids its o p p o n e n t ’s a t t a c k s , a s o p p o s e d t o t h e t i g e r. Fur ther mor e, it avails its opponent’s force for its own attacks, which are selective. The large wings enable the crane to block and knock at the same time. It is as flexible as a tree in the wind.

Kung Fu he techniques of the crane style are said to have belonged to the traditional fighting styles of the legendary Southern Shaolin Kung Fu for a very long time. At least that is what has been bequeathed. According to the legend, the crane style was one part of the basic trainings in the monastery. Each student had to learn the five styles, otherwise the basic training did not count as completed. Only then, a student could possibly devote himself to specialize in a certain style. The classic 5 animals were the same as in today’s Hung Gar Kung Fu; tiger, crane, snake, leopard and dragon.

T

Fong Wing Chun The name’s similarity with the well-known Kung Fu style Wing Chun is no accident. Fong Wing Chun was the niece of Fong Sai Yuk, whose name is certainly well recognized by Eastern Movie fans, as several movies have been produced in which Fong Sai Yuk is either mentioned or even the main character himself. Fong Sai Yuk was a fellow Kung Fu brother of Hung Hee Gung, the namesake of the Shaolin Hung Gar Kung Fu. Fong Sai Yuk used to teach Kung Fu to his niece Fong Wing Chun. The tradition passed on in an anecdote, which I would like to recap: The young Wing Chun was just about to sow seeds. A white crane saw this and started to

G.M. Sewer pick the sown seeds out of the earth with his beak. Wing Chun spotted him doing so and tried to chase the crane away with a long stick. However, all her attempts were in vain. The crane avoided Wing Chun’s blows skillfully. No matter how hard she stabbed, she did not manage to chase the crane away or even strike him at all. The Chinese declare that the crane was a god, who revealed Wing Chun the principles of her Kung Fu that way. However, this incident was significantly conducive to Wing Chun’s understanding of how her Kung Fu works. She shared her newly acquired knowledge with her husband, Hung Hee Gung. Thus he enhanced his own crane Kung Fu. “Faht Ging” of the Crane Kung Fu Now, I am going to describe the 4 powers of the crane (Ging). It may seem abstract to read in a text about this, therefore it is certainly advisable to let an experienced master guide and teach you these principles. “Jung Hok Ging” - Basic Ging. The easiest way to describe the nature of the power “Ging” is to compare it with the shaking of a wet dog. Vocal Sound - In combination with the right sound, the Qi is being transmitted to the right place in the body. The crane saves its Qi. It opens and closes its wings and awaits its opponent’s next attack to avail his force instead. “Sik Hok Ging” - Eating Ging The breathing technique is brief and fast. Calm, fast, courageous, safe and solid are the associated characteristics. In this context, it is possible that the “Mo Dap But Sun Toi” (Boxing Sutra) is being put into action. “Fei Hok Ging” - Flying crane . Within this power, the Hung Gar student finds the entire wing techniques of the crane style.

In this DVD, G.M. Larry Tatum (10th Dan) develops techniques of the Kenpo program at the highest level. Particularly, some of his “favorites” like Flashing Mace, Parting Wings, Entwined Lance… Masterfully executed and based on the experience of the movement, G.M. Tatum incorporates his innovative teachings in these techniques that will help you add and complement your training in the Kenpo system. Besides, they provide the individual with the best choice for selfdefense, based on the logical and practical thinking, and place him in the path of understanding the art of Kenpo. These are the self-defense and fighting systems of the modern times we live in. They are designed so that the practitioner gets all the benefits that training these techniques can provide. This DVD has the support of Master Adolfo Luelmo (9th Dan), who goes on with a series of techniques performed in a smooth and strong way, for situations of extreme aggression, in which can be appreciated different states of the movement, in a logical and effective way. As a conclusion, Master Camacho Assisi (8th Dan), displays a technique that combines the strength of the arms and his expertise with legs.

THE KAJUKENBO HISTORY Adriano D. Emperado was born to Filipino-Hawaiian parents in the poverty stricken Palama/Kalihi section of Honolulu, Hawaii, on June 15, 1926. He began his training at the age of 8. At that moment of his life, both his father and his uncle were professional boxers, and, of course, they taught him to box. His next training came at the age of 11 while living with his older brother on Kauai. There he learned some Escrima. At the age of 14 he found himself back in his old neighborhood of Palama. There he trained Judo under Sensei Taneo, at the Palama Settlement Gym.

“In the years of the Kajukenbo development, Emperado would train with the other 4 Co-founders during the day and then he’d teach classes at Chow's in the evenings.”

few years later, at the age of 20, Emperado undertook the study of Kenpo at the Catholic Youth Organization in Honolulu. Classes were run by the legendary professor William K.S. Professor Chow had been a student of Kenpo Jiu Jitsu; his instructor James Mitose, also obtained the Black Belt 5th Dan in Judo. Emperado trained daily with Chow and soon became his first black belt. Emperado spent years with Professor Chow becoming his chief instructor and reaching the rank of Black Belt 5th Dan. In the years of the Kajukenbo development, Emperado would train with the other 4 Co-founders during the day and then he’d teach classes at Chow's in the evenings.

A

After the other 4 Co-Founders went to war, in 1950 Emperado started the first Kajukenbo School at the Palama Settlement Gym, where trainings sessions became legendary for their brutality. Emperado has been quoted as saying that a training session didn't finish until there was blood on the floor. It was said "that you have to experience pain before you know what your technique can do." We lost many students in those days, but we also got a lot from other schools, including black belts. His first black belt, Marino Tiwanak, joined his class after being defeated in response to the challenge; Tiwanak was Hawaii flyweight boxing champion at that time. With the success of the school of Palama Settlement, Emperado began to expand. He left the teaching at

Palama School to his brother Joe Emperado, while he began giving classes at Kaimuki Y.M.C.A. and Wahiwa Y.M.C.A. Soon the Kajukenbo Self Defense Institute of Hawaii, Inc. was the largest chain of Karate schools in Hawaii. Emperado also became part of the development of Karate tournaments, and served on the Board of Karate Rules of Hawaii, which established the rules of competition used on all the islands. Emperado worked as a port policeman for the Department of Transport for fourteen years, and one year in the Office of the General District attorney of Hawaii, as the Governor's bodyguard. He then entered the private sector as director of security for a large company. He worked in the field of corporate security until he suffered a heart attack in 1982. Emperado broadened his knowledge of Escrima, training with Alfredo Peralta, who taught him a method using the simple stick.

Almost at the same time he undertook a thorough study of several Kung Fu systems. He studied under Professor Lau Bun of the Choy Li Fut system, and Professor Wong of the North Shaolin system. Several years later, these teachers and the Association of Physical Culture of Hawaii, granted Emperado the title of 10th Grade Professor. Also at that time, he was awarded a certificate by Grandmaster Ho Gau, of Hong Kong, appointing him as counselor and representative of the Choy Li Fut system. This certificate was signed by Grand Master Ho Gau, Professor Cheuk Tse, and the directors of the Hawaii Physical Culture Association. The Hawaii Physical Culture Association was the first Kung Fu school outside of China. Emperado was always open to innovation, and the Kajukenbo keeps constantly evolving. Up to the date, there are 4 systems inside the Kajukenbo style, and Expressions or Subsystems, each day in greater evolution.

The Psychology of Combat: Part I The O.O.D.A. Process Every time you are face to face with danger, especially combat, your mind always follows a predictable set pattern. This pattern is always the same, it never skips a step, and you can do nothing to change it. However, if you understand this natural process, then you can use it to your advantage – not only in self-defense situations, but also in the evolution of your training as well. This process, which is well known to military and police Special Operations (Specops) teams, is called the O.O.D.A. process – Observe, Orient, Decide, Act.

Observe In any crisis situation, one or more of your senses will first alert you: sight, hearing, touch or smell (the fifth sense is taste, but is unlikely to be of any value). This first stimulus warns the brain of danger. It could be a stab in the back with a knife (touch), the smell of a chemical that someone is about to throw in your face, or a noise made in the shadows as you walk to your car. To develop your powers of observation you need to incorporate auditory and olfactory exercises in your training, not just kinesthetic (touch) exercises like the masses practice. Here are a couple of exercises that you can incorporate and which will refine each of your senses. 1. Blindfolded, stand in a circle of students (trainers) and react to the noise of the one who starts running toward you. 2. Walk blind folded through the middle of two rows of students, and get into a fighting stance when you smell a "threatening" smell. Perhaps a female student has on perfume (could be a possible threat), or another student has the smell of alcohol on his sleeve (definitely a warning indicator).

Orient Once your mind has identified a problem, it now wants to orient itself towards the threat. Until the mind can determine what the exact threat is, or where it is coming from, it will hesitate at this step. Of course, any hesitation on our part means a tactical advantage to the opponent. To improve your orientation skills, here are a couple of exercises that I have my military and police students participate in: 1. Have two fighters face each other, both with their eyes closed. Move their positions slightly, still keeping their eyes closed. Upon the command, "Go!" both of them open their eyes and begin sparring. This forces them to observe then orient, and it helps their scanning abilities. 2. Place a student (the trainee) in an empty room and have him close his eyes. Bring a few students (trainers) into the room while loud music is playing so the trainee cannot hear where they position themselves. Have one trainer run at the trainee, have another to the side with a

rubber knife, and yet another who starts running away upon the command, "Go!" This is also the command for the trainee to open their eyes. Such training will force the trainee to become faster at orienting.

Decide Once your mind perceives the threat, and you have oriented yourself to it, your mind will then decide what to do. In any combat situation there are only three choices: fight, run away, or submit. What you decide to do will be determined not only by what you have observed, but other factors as well: your fear level, confidence level, fatigue, and whether you are injured or not. When faced with danger, some people become paralyzed with fear and just stand there doing nothing – this act would fall under submitting. As a martial artist you too will be faced with these three choices if you are ever in mortal danger. The only way to know how you will react at the "moment of truth" is to make your training as realistic as possible, and experience it beforehand. In military and police training we are always doing realistic scenarios, even in hand-to-hand fighting classes. Instead of having my students bow at each other, then directing them to fight, I will have them simulate a situation that they will most likely face. I may begin by having one student yelling and clenching his fists at the officer, and the officer has to decide what he or she is going to do. Or, perhaps the next time I’ll have the student walk up to an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) to withdraw money (imaginary of course), and suddenly from behind, the "attacker" comes up with a rubber pistol demanding money. The more variety that you have in your training, the better your decision skills will become. The problem with many martial arts schools is that they lack realistic scenario training, and when a student is faced with brutal reality they are often not prepared to handle it, because their training did not reflect real life possibilities.

Act The final step in the O.O.D.A. process is to act upon your decision. No matter what course of action you decide you must be committed to it 100%.

The United States Marines have an expression called, "Violence of Action." It does not mean going around being violent. It means that whatever your action, whether right or wrong, you go into your combat plan with complete confidence, and with the mindset to carry it out to the very end – aggressively. If you are not totally committed to your action, your enemy will read this. By also employing violence of action you are slowing down your opponent’s O.O.D.A. process, by having him confused or having to think. Remember, the process works both ways, and you can exploit this knowledge to your advantage.

Stand by Next month we will discuss what your mind and body go through before, during, and after actual combat as we explore the Assault Cycle.

In this new DVD of Vovinam, Patrick Levet has wanted to show the facets of the use and handling of the Vietnamese Stick. Although little known, the Vietnamese long stick is, without a doubt, the most important weapon among all the weapons of the traditional Martial Arts of Vietnam. The Vovinam school, in its official program, only proposes the Stick Form (Tu Tuong Con Phap) and the counterattacks of stick vs. stick (Phan The Con), without explaining the intermediate movements. But the Vietnamese stick goes far beyond these two facets and Master Levet offers us 2 detailed DVDs on all the applications of the numerous intermediate movements of the Stick Quyen. This first volume includes a series of specific stick warming up and bodybuilding exercises, the guard, fundamental principles, stylistic handling of the weapon, defense against disarmament, blocking and dodging, displacements, as well as combat techniques. An original work that shows for the first time the Vietnamese stick in a complete and exhaustive way.

WT Universe The graduation system of the Wing Tsun Universe (WTU) WTU also took a new approach in this area and adapted the graduation system the requirements of the WTU in modern times. Graduation should not be a sign of adaptation but of qualification and understanding. The Wing Tsun Universe (WTU) distinguishes between students / practitioners + teachers / LotG in their training network:

WT Universe In the WTU, we differentiate between the practitioner / student graduations. We have the following Practitioner-Graduations: Student Level 1 Student level 2 Student level 3 Student level 4 Lower level I

Student level 5 Student level 6 Student level 7 Student level 8 Intermediate level II Student level 9 Student level 10 Student level 11 Student level 12

WT Universe Intermediate level III Advanced Level IV Advanced Level V Advanced Level VI Experts Level VII Experts Level VIII Experts Level IX High degree Level X High degree Level XI High degree Level XII

And we have the following teachers / Leader of the Group Graduations: LotG 1 / Assistant or leader: Level II; GUILD Basic LotG 2 / Sihing / Sije: AL IV, GUILD Stage I, Thinking Center Course (TCC) Basic LotG 3 / Sifu: AL VI, GUILD Stage II, TCC LotG, HEALTH Basic LotG 4 / Master: EL IX, GUILD Stage III, TCC Stage I, HEALTH Stage I LotG 5 / Dai Sifu: HGL X, GUILD Stage IV, TCC Stage II, HEALTH Stage II LotG 6 / Knight: HGL XII, TCC Stage III, Health Stage III

WT Universe LotG 7 / Mentor: TCC Stage IV, HEALTH Stage IV LotG 8 / Grandmaster (GM) Our practitioner graduations are one of the prerequisites for the Leader of the Group (LotG) Graduations. In addition, there are the additional qualifications in brackets for each LotG level in the GUILD, HEALTH and WTU UNI TCC area. A theoretical work is also necessary to complete each LotG step. The topic is given. As already mentioned, we understand a network within the WTU under the graduation system, in which we acquire the necessary successive qualifications with the necessary coordinates.

What is an optimist? We live in a time when we always hear the slogan "positive thinking".

WT Universe But what does it mean? What is this "positive thinking?" And what is "optimistic"? Are a "positive thinker" and an optimist the same? If not, what is the difference?

He feels satisfaction in the confirmation of his negativity, which he usually produces himself.

We therefore want to address the following questions:

To 3) An optimist is someone who sees and looks for the development-oriented opportunity, regardless of whether an event is now negative or positive.

1) What is meant by "positive thinking"? 2) What is the opposite of "negative thinking"? 3) What is an optimist? 4) What is a pessimist? 5) What is the decisive difference between a "positive thinker and an optimist"?

To 4) A pessimist is someone who sees a danger in every situation, he expects one thing in all harmful, destructive development.

To 1) A "positive thinker" is someone who tries to evaluate everything positively. He runs the risk of eliminating the negative. The problem lies in the "evaluation". He dreams of a safe world and believes that this is possible only through positive thinking. To 2) A "negative thinker" is someone who seeks the negative in everything. Invented something in all that does not suit him, that is a danger that troubles him, etc. This man creates a destructive basic attitude towards life. He regards the gift of life as a torment, but paradoxically it is due to this agony as the positive thinker in his dream.

To 5) The basic difference is that the optimist does not evaluate. He is a realist, a pragmatist, not a dreamer. He thinks clearly and intuitively. These aspects make him recognize the inherent patterns and feel the tides of life. In this way he recognizes the moments in which changes can be initiated. In teaching situations the pessimist becomes for himself the greatest difficulty and also the positive thinker passes the core of the matter I consider myself a born optimist. No matter what happens, in everything I find one developmental situation. Also, what is currently negative can have a positive impact on my life with proper approach and patience. SALVE

Live Experience Secret Communication in Martial Arts Martial Arts and self-defense methods teach us how to react when faced with attacks from one or more aggressors, for example: how to counter-attack kicks, punches, throws, sticks and so on. Very rarely does the system teach us how to behave in order to avoid the “shock”, somehow guiding our interlocutor’s behavior with our attitude.

“Los Maestros de Silat con los que he estudiado, siempre me han dicho que el Maestro no necesita luchar, porque su personalidad está tan desarrollada que puede controlar a su adversario sin utilizar técnica alguna.”

Silat

studied with the Silat Masters and they always said to me that a real Master does not need to fight because he can control his adversary with no more than the strength of his personality and he will not need to use techniques. When we relate to a person, his subconscious self can read our behavior and this betrays our true feelings regardless of what we might say. Interpreting our behavior or body language is a fundamental topic of importance not only for safety experts and Martial Arts Masters, but also for psychologists and communication experts. In job interviews the person who is the expert in hiring high-level personnel is capable of reading beyond the words that he hears. He observes how we move our head, the position of our hands, the direction in which we look and so on. These are the signs that give him a clear idea whether there is congruence between our conscious spoken answers and our subconscious responses. Martial Arts literature tells of extraordinary episodes in which a Master was able to read his student’s thoughts, understanding beforehand what type of attack he would make, whether it would be a punch or a kick from above or from below, to the right or to the left. There has been much talk of extra-sensory perception and superhuman abilities, but we never thought that the

Silat subconscious of the Master would have perfected his capacity of perception to such an extent that he would capture imperceptible and highly meaningful movements. When we think about delivering a right punch, a mental image forms in our minds and our body reacts in anticipation of the action: for example our head may incline slightly, our eyes move slightly revealing the whites of our eyes or even indicating our potential trajectory, and our shoulder may shift position slightly. A clever deceiver knows the right reactions and tries to divert his adversary by making micro-movements in the opposite direction.

Which way should we look in order to prevent an attack? In this case we have several suggestions: if the fight is limited to using the upper body, we simply advise that you look at the shoulders and not at the hands since the movement of the shoulders will tell us how the arms will move. But what if it is total combat? In this case many people prefer to look at the feet because the way the feet change will always reveal what the action of the leg or hand will be. In Malaysia, an ancient Master that I was fortunate enough to meet had the extraordinary ability of predicting any type of strike and he showed me by moving his hand which side he anticipated I would attack from. What was his secret? He focused his eyes on the stomach and let his periphery vision quickly catch the movements that emerged from the four angles formed by the shoulders and the hips. In this way he had complete control over his adversary. Furthermore, he advised me not to fix my stare because if you concentrate your visual focus you lose the global vision of the situation. Thus it did not have anything to do with extrasensory perceptions, but rather an extraordinary perfection of his capacity of perception. The ability to foresee an attack and to observe the person with our peripheral vision creates a sense of security in the Master that often disorientates all those who come into contact with him. In order to read the signs we not only need to have global vision, but we also need to be in a state of global relaxation because counterattack is inversely proportional to sensitivity, and we will talk about this extremely important topic next time!

We are pleased to present the second work of the KMRED group. This video bearing the name "Concept and Education" aims to make you discover a part of the concept Krav Maga Research, Evolution and Development, as well as the pedagogy developed within our group. The different exercises that you will discover here are not intended to "feast your eyes" or demonstrate our combative attitudes, because our priority here is that of explaining how we prepare our students so that they become "warriors", capable of "adapting" to the different evolutions of street fighting.

Shuriken Jutsu Ki in the Shurikenjutsu!!! "By ignorance we mistake and by mistakes we learn" Roman Proverb I think that, since the early '70s, we all got excited when we saw an Indian or an Oriental throwing a knife in a Western. The sensation of being able to penetrate an object, a target, or a tree, with some random knife, was already synonymous with superpowers for a child of that time. But as time goes by and you have access to one or two technical forms of throwing, you realize that nothing is as easy as in Hollywood movies. I remember perfectly a scene in one of the films from "The Magnificent Seven" saga, in which a challenge arises between a gunman and a knife thrower. A masterful scene, no doubt!!! But we know that the distance and the way in which the actor throws the object, makes it unreal. The form of the knife used in this scene, corresponds to a "Hira" type of Shuriken that, in a general way, was thrown to a maximum distance of six meters, and doing it to a greater distance is rather difficult. Whenever I say that Shurikenjutsu is an ungrateful art, I mean that I have been living with this practice for years, and I can properly say that you can master this technique for years, but in some Shuriken types like "BO SHURIKEN", it takes only a few days or months without practicing for your

technique to become as rudimentary as that of a beginner. It's a motor action of our body and it no doubt depends on maintenance. As I said in other articles, life begins in breathing. The same applies to the techniques related to the forms studied in Shurikenjutsu. Simple as it might seem executing a technique related to certain Shuriken formats, if it has been truly learned, it's inevitable that it is accompanied with a good breathing and proper postural angles that correspond to the desired goal. In this case, where our action must correspond to the technique itself and not to spectacular assumptions and plans for a good movement, we can classify and explain here some parts of the breathing used in this practice, as follows: • Breathing nervous control • Breathing chemical control Let’s explain better: Breathing is the result of the electrical rhythmic unloads of a group of nerve cells in the reticular formation of the brainstem, on the frame of the fourth ventricle, called the respiratory center. From this zone, arise impulses for C3, C4 and C5, medullary segments of the phrenic nerve,

Shuriken Jutsu

which enervates the diaphragm and the thoracic segments towards the intercostal and abdominal nerves. There are afferent fibers of the vagus nerve in the walls of the smaller airways, which are sensitive to stretching; with lung full of air, the generated impulses are inhibitory in the center of the inspiration; the greater the stretching, the greater the inhibition. This is called the "Hering-Breuer Reflex". The carotid sinuses are affected by pressure and are called baroreceptors. When stimulated by increased blood pressure, they cause an inhibitory effect in the respiratory center. A drop in blood pressure has an opposite effect. The carotid bodies and aortic bodies are sensitive to the lack of oxygen; their afferent impulses pass through the glossopharyngeal nerve and vagus nerve, producing a stimulating effect in the respiratory center, but it has little effect on oxygen control in the blood, since Hemoglobin is easily saturated with oxygen in normal ventilation or below normal. This mechanism becomes important for patients who retain the CO2, where the individual adapts to high levels of carbon dioxide, with the breathing control being maintained by the aortic and carotid chemoreceptors.

Shuriken Jutsu

Changing body temperature alters respiration, rapid cooling causes hyperventilation. Muscular proprioceptors influence respiration.

Breathing chemical control An increase in carbon dioxide in the blood will produce an increase in carbonic acid in the cerebrospinal fluid, which in turn will increase the amount of hydrogen ions, producing an exciting effect in the respiratory center. Blood pH is kept in balance through bicarbonate and carbonic acid. The kidneys regulate the plasma bicarbonate concentration. An increase in carbon dioxide leads to the increase of carbonic acid in the plasma, which will increase the hydrogen ions, lowering the pH; this in turn will exert an excitatory effect on the respiratory center. In the past, according to some of my teachers, (I cannot claim that it's true but that I did learn it in the classroom) in the learning period, students had to undergo a strict diet of herbs, grains, leaves and other foods that were carefully chosen according to their "Ki" energy content, which should be absorbed by the practitioner, so that his process of understanding breathing was present. I will analyze the principle of this perception from the comprehension of the energetic formation of these foods.

We will explain such a theory as we were taught. Unlike animals and man, who are consumers or heterotrophs, plants are able to synthesize their own food, which is why they are called autotrophic organisms, or producers. Parting from nutrients in their elemental form, present in the environment, plus solar energy and water, green plants produce compounds rich in energy and biologically useful for all living creatures. In a simplified way we can say: Energy from the sun + carbon dioxide from the air + soil water = glucose (a sugar rich in energy). It is important to analyze - after understanding this process - that some teachers still believe that the correct form depends on the type of breathing that each one is using. They have explained that if the exercises that are shown provoke hyperventilation, they will teach how to modify this, making it possible for people to calm down, relax and decrease their anxiety symptomatology. In general, two ways of bringing air to the lungs usually stand out: the first one is a

breathing style of the type "belly inward - chest outward", which is called a thoracic breathing. The second, through the diaphragm, is called abdominal or diaphragmatic breathing. To distinguish them, observe a baby sleeping and notice how his belly moves calmly up and down. That is the so-called diaphragmatic or abdominal breathing. Now, try to observe that same child crying or scared. That type of breathing is the thoracic one, faster and shorter if compared to the diaphragmatic breathing. In a situation of crisis and direct confrontation, it is easy to see the alteration of breathing as a whole. Keeping calm and throwing a weight object and still succeed in the purpose and result of what is thrown, can be a maneuver that actually becomes almost impossible without a good understanding of these factors. In the thoracic breathing, the chest is filled with air by shrinking the belly and thus, the thorax muscles are hardly used. It is the type of breathing that is carried out when doing physical intense exercise, or under stress. When that happens, the number of inspirations and expirations increases and less air enters and leaves the lungs. The result is the accumulation of vitiated air, poor in oxygen, in addition to muscular tension. That rhythm of thoracic breathing, very rapid, is called hyperventilation. It produces specific biological processes, harmless in themselves, but very annoying and disturbing: tingling, dizziness, muscular contraction, blurred vision, etc. Diaphragmatic breathing occurs in calm situations. It is the kind of breathing that we must learn to use always, especially in afflictive moments. With a minimum of attention and just observing some recommendations, we will be able to practice it. At first, we don't have to change anything, just look at our breathing pattern. Let’s see how we breathe when we are tense or scared, whether by a work meeting, or by

a fright in the traffic, or even when we feel tired. Let's also try to find out in this phase of observation, how is our breath when we feel fear, insecurity or that well-known anticipatory anxiety we all have. It would be great that it was like in the movies, in which a master, from the distance, removes a hairpin from his head and transforms it into a mortal Shuriken. But things are not so easy! Who doesn't remember that fantastic series called "The Master", with Lee van Cleef in the role of John Peter Macalister....? Or Bruce Lee in his films using bamboo pieces as darts...? Or what Chinese actresses do in "Enter the Dragon", who can hit a moving apple. I must confess that I've never witnessed such a thing! The difficulty I see in all this is the precision shown in films with moving objects. With a still object you can develop a good precision, provided you commit yourself body and soul to improve your technique. But in motion, everything changes! I think that in the past, the poison in which throwing stars were soaked was the secret of much of the success reached by the techniques used by the ShurikenJutsu. Obviously I believe in the determination and perfection of the human being in any field to which he devotes his life. The basic Shuriken throwing method varies from school to school, with the main differences in the shape of the stars and their use. According to the text of Motoshima Sensei, from Japan, the origin of throwing small plates comes from the Ganritsu Ryu, founded by Matsubayashi Henyasai, a professional swordsman in the service of the eighteenth Lord of Matsuhiro, in Kanei, around 1624. In that school had its origin the Katono, or Izu Ryu, founded by a samurai of Sendai, called Fujita Hirohide of Katono, also known as Katono Izu, disciple of Matsubayashi. He pioneered the throwing of needles, of about 10 cm in length and 20 g in weight, many of which he wore on his hair. The needle was held between the middle finger and the index finger and was thrown like a modern dart in the eyes of the opponent. It was said that Katono Izu could throw two needles simultaneously at a horse and reach each of its hooves. Will it be true...?

Krav Maga Israeli Survival System: the new Krav Maga frontier. After the success of his first DVD, Grandmaster Marco Morabito appears unprecedented in Budo International with a DVD dedicated to weapons: Morabito knowledge in both civil and military defense fields intertwines in an explosive mixture of technology and innovation. Nothing is left to chance and there are no secrets: with "experimentalis cognitio", the most common armed attacks are carefully examined paying utmost attention to every single detail. Diverse techniques with the most common weapons are analyzed, always bearing in mind that there is no such thing as a "universal pattern of aggression": the kinds of attacks are unlimited and so are the means of defense. Technique is only the basis of study to acquire and develop fluency and conscience of the movement, but the aim is that of making our defense instinctive thus shortening the time of reaction. As on the ring, we will never have the mathematical certainty of winning the bout, but we can greatly increase our chances of emerging victorious: "He who fights risks to lose, he who doesn't fight has already lost." Morabito, with his Israeli Krav Maga Survival System wants to break with the patterns and show the public something totally new, far from the regular old-fashioned techniques, emulated for decades. On this DVD, technique melts with experience and everything acquires clear and definite contours. Nothing is left at random and the most common mistakes are unmasked and analyzed. In the Israeli Krav Maga Survival System you will find an exceptional and authentic new method of self-defense.

This DVD is the result promoted by the Spanish subsidiary of the Zen Nihon Toyama-Ryu Iaido Renmei (ZNTIR - Spain Branch), to publicize the technical content of the ToyamaRyu style as practiced in the ZNTIR Honbu Dojo in Machida, Tokyo, unchanged, with no alterations. The loyalty of the program is such that is its president and maximum technical manager, Yoshitoki Hataya Sensei, who, accompanied by some members, executes personally the entire compendium of the current style program. In him you can find the basic structure of the methodology that is applied, from the coded exercises of warming up and preparation and through the cutting exercises; the guards; the school Katas, including those corresponding to the Toyama Army Academy, the Gunto Soho and its explanation; work in pairs, both in Kumitachi and Gekken Kumitachi, and the cornerstone on which the Toyama-Ryu is based, i.e., Tameshigiri or cutting exercises on a real target. Zen Nihon Toyama-Ryu IaiDo Renmei (ZNTIR) is the body that currently - once reviewed and adapted the concepts and methodology of a school that comes from a method of actual combat intends to maintain alive this tradition and the original forms through a system that unifies body, mind and spirit in a realistic and effective way. Thanks to the commitment of a few graduates of the Toyama Army Academy (Rikugun Toyama Gakko), who continued secretly keeping alive the art until the lifting of the bans and the return of sovereignty to the Japanese people, today can learn a fencing style framed among the current schools of Iai-Do. This is a meticulous DVD in different languages, which proves to be a valuable source for researchers and practitioners of Japanese sword, and for martial artists in general or interested in the history of Japan and its last world war. It's a real stroke of luck being able to observe the techniques it contains, and at least for serious researchers, is well worth having it in your video library. We practitioners of the style want to share loyally the knowledge of our Japanese fencing school, in the hope that at the same time, the own inter nal values of those armed men impregnate the new generations and allow to glimpse a revulsive, in a traditionally way very different from the current approach to combat disciplines of Japanese origin.
