COLLEGE SEARCH TIPS.

1. KNOW YOURSELF:

What are you most passionate about? What challenges you the most? Do some self-reflecting before you start the search process to find a college that aligns with your personal and intellectual interests.

3. MAKE A PLAN:

Make sure you know which courses are required by colleges and plan your high school curriculum accordingly. Take time to chat with a school counselor, family member, or mentor to help you navigate the search process.

4. KEEP AN OPEN MIND:

You might be set on studying in a city, but still consider a rural or suburban campus. Look at small colleges even if you dream of a big campus. The right college for you may be very different from what you initially think.

2. DIG DEEPER ONLINE:

Spend time on college websites, YouTube videos, and social media channels. Even browse current course syllabi; they can tell you a lot about the style of an academic environment, rigor of courses, and the breadth of subjects available.

5. EXPLORE CAMPUS:

Now you’re ready to tour colleges! After the official tour, take time to explore on your own to get a sense of the culture. If you’re unable to visit campus, participate in a virtual event or see if the school has a virtual tour.
