Where it all happens

Step back in time at The Perry Farm Administrative Office, formerly the cherished home of the Durham and Perry families, now serving as our administrative hub for Bourbonnais Township Park District. Discover historical artifacts and furniture from the Perry family within the charming confines of this historic farmhouse. Open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, visitors can also register for BTPD programs and events during their visit.

Located at 459 N. Kennedy Drive, accessing the Perry Farm Administrative Office is simple. Enter off Perry St. through the Perry Farm Park entrance and follow the road until you reach the white farmhouse. Don't forget to say hello to the farm animals near the iconic big red barn while you're here. Experience history and charm at Perry Farm Park!

To the Bourbonnais Township Park District Community,

This year, we're all about creating a Destination for Fun right here in our very own backyard. Whether you choose to visit our farm animals, explore the Indian Caves, browse fresh local produce at our Farmers Market or walk our scenic trails, there is something for everyone at Bourbonnais Township Park District.

There is something magical about getting up close and personal with our furry friends, especially our new alpacas. From petting adorable sheep to feeding playful goats, it's an experience that will warm your heart and put a smile on your face. In the past two years, we have made an emphasis of restoring our historic barns and beautifying the farm house and farm stead. Take a stroll around this area and watch the history come alive just right off of Kennedy Drive.

Have you heard about our Farmers Market? This farmstead will turn into a Farmers Market like no other on Thursday nights in July and August. It's not just a place to shop—it's a vibrant community hub where you can connect with local growers, artisans, and neighbors alike. Join us for some live music, delicious food, and a whole lot of good vibes!

Of course, no summer would be complete without a little outdoor exploration. Whether you're in the mood for a leisurely stroll or a bike ride, our trails offer something for everyone. This is a great way to spend those summer days and nights! If you adventure far enough, take in the splendors of our Indian

Caves and the Kankakee River. It is very scenic and peaceful on our trails.

Last but certainly not least, don't forget to swing by the Exploration Station for a day of imagination and wonder. Residents can attend for free on the first and third Thursday each month from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. This is a destination place if you want go inside from all the outside play. From interactive exhibits to hands-on activities, it's the perfect place for our youngest adventurers to learn, play, and explore to their hearts' content.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your calendar, round up the family, and get ready for a summer full of laughter, discovery, and endless fun right here in our own backyard. I can't wait to see you all there! BTPD is your destination of fun! From the Board President David

BTPD Board of Commissioners is composed of five non-paid individuals selected by voters to serve elected terms: President David Zinanni, Vice President William Bukowski, Jeff Mullinax and David Sadler. The Board if primarily a policy-making body that reflect the needs and interests of all taxpayers. Your personal participation is an integral part of their decision-making process. The Board meets the fourth Monday of each month at the Recreation Station, 770 E. Franklin St., Bradley, with Committe of the Whole at 5:30 p.m. and the board meeting starting at 6:00 p.m.

Our mission is to enrich the quality of life through recreation, education and preservation. We offer a variety of recreational opportunities for residents and non-residents of all ages. The BTPD is made up of 4 facilities, Recreation Station, Exploration Station, Willowhaven Center and Perry Farm Administrative Building. We also have four parks, Perry Farm Park, Diamond Point Park, Willowhaven Park and Turnberry Park.

BTPD serves Bourbonnais Township as an independent taxing body created for the purpose of fulfilling the open space, park and recreation needs of the community.

The park district was formed by referendum vote by margin of nearly 2 to 1 in 1986. BTPD is separate from both villages and township.

Step into nature and meander along our smoothly paved trails, surrounded by Illinois' stunning landscape and historical landmarks like the Indian Caves along the Kankakee River. Dive into excitement at our inclusive Barnyard Playground, where imaginations run wild and laughter fills the air, and don't miss Exploration Station, a hands-on discovery center igniting curiosity and sparking joy in young minds.

May the Fourth be with you, young Padawans! Join us for the ultimate celebration of your favorite galactic saga. Dress in your favorite Rebel Alliance or Villains attire and bring your taste for adventure! We will play out of this world games, enjoy snacks, make an awesome craft and even learn the ways of the Jedi! Each child will get their own laser sword and receive training from a real Jedi Master. Register by Tuesday, May 2. All children must be registered and adults are free to join. Membership discount apply.

Juice and Canvas • Ages 4 - 8

Join us for a delightful morning of art, snacks, and bonding with your little one! Each participant will create a stunning canvas painting guided by our expert instructors. Afterwards, enjoy playtime while your artwork dries. Program fee covers admission, supplies, juice, and snacks for one child and one adult. Register 48 hours in advance to secure your spot! Membership discount apply.

Come join us for a summer fairy garden party outside at the Exploration Station! Bring a blanket to sit on while we all enjoy snacks, juice, and fairy games! Every child will be provided with materials to make their own fairy houses to take home! Use your imagination and creativity to make a beautiful summer home for your local fairies to stay. Register by Thursday, May 30. All children must be registered and adults are free to join. Membership discount apply.

Camp Imagination • Ages 4 - 8

Let your imagination run free this summer at Camp Imagination! Camp will be held on select Wednesdays from June 19 through August 7. During each camp session, children will participate in a variety of STEAM related activities, crafts, games, and enjoy playing in the museum and outside at Perry Farm park. A snack will be provided at each camp session and we recommend your child bring a water bottle, and a change of clothes; sometimes FUN gets messy. Registration is required by the Sunday prior to your camp session. This is a drop off program, all children must be potty trained. Membership discount apply.

Celebrate summer with outdoor games, face painting, dancing, sprinkler and water balloon fun, snacks and more! Register by Thursday, June 27. All children must be registered and adults are free to join.

Are you looking for a fun and creative way to spice up your next birthday party, family holiday gathering, or any occasion throughout the year?! Participants will select from a variety of piñata styles, then construct their own colorful piñata! This class includes all the embellishments and candy you can carry! Also included is lunch, served at intermission. This is a drop off program. Parents do not stay.

Cheer Camp • Ages 3 - 5

Want to take that first step in learning about cheerleading? The cheer squad will learn the meaning of true sportsmanship, self discipline, hard work, team work, confidence and self esteem. It's an opportunity to build social skills as well. Get ready to experience tumbling, dance, motions, jumps, basic stunts and more. Class includes pom poms to keep, Certificate of Cheer Completion Course, 4X6 group photo, and a surprise BTPD giveaway. This is a drop off program. Parents do not stay.

This experience will WOW you! Did you ever wonder what the Queen of Hearts side of the story was? Maybe we had the story all wrong? Well, join Alice for Mad Hatter tea time as she encounters the Queen of Hearts. Then, rivals no more, the Queen will give each Wonderland visitor a full face makeover and hairstyle. Just like herself! Also, we will make a queen’s collar and hat out of cards. To end your Wonderland visit, you will receive a crown filled with beautiful jewels of your very own! This is a drop off program. Parents do not stay.

Pirates Ahoy Camp!! • Ages 3 - 6

Ahoy Matey! Come learn about the pirate lifestyle! Arrrr...talk like a pirate, make a life size pirate ship and master shooting water cannons! Also, learn how to make a pirate's outfit! And I hope you don't have to walk the plank! Program includes all pirate supplies, snacks and drink each day. This is a drop off program. Parents do not stay. Location at Perry Farm Park Pavilion.

Camp Tiny Tots

Ages 2 - 3

Looking for some adventure? Little ones will have an exciting opportunity to see and experience what adventures summer camp offers! Kids will participate in nature walks and activities, arts & crafts, sports, games, visit the park and see the farm animals (weather permitting). What a great way to make new friends! Parents are allowed to stay if needed. Program located at Perry Farm House.

Little Farmer's Camp • Ages 3 - 5

Kids will learn about the wonderful animals at Perry Farm Park. Each day little farmer's will learn about a new animal, make a craft, enjoy a snack and take a walk to see the animals. We will end the week with a "hayride" around Perry Farm! Alternative accommodations will be made in case there is inclement weather. Location at Perry Farm House.

Astronomical Adventures Camp • Ages 3 - 5

Cosmic Crusaders will explore a week of space themed activities starting with making a spaceship (space crafts). Also, learning about the galaxy. Astronauts will create space art, making rockets and more. They may even encounter a few Martians along the way. This camp will be out of this world! All supplies included. Small snack provided daily. Drop off program. Parents do not stay.

Little Scientist's Camp • Ages 3 - 5

Calling all scientists interested in slimes, goos, experiments, STEM activities, and more. This camp is for you! This program has been created just for you this week with interactive play and equipment. Let’s get excited about the world around us with hands-on activities to enrich little scientists’ brains and imaginations.

Ready for the most WATER fun your little one(s) can have this summer? Let's beat the heat together. This is exactly what you’re looking for! Come enjoy water balloons, kiddie pools, hydro sprinklers, and a slip and slide! Swim suits, sunscreen and towels are needed for this program. Participants must be fully potty trained. This is a drop off program. Parents do not stay.

NEW! Snapshot Camp

At our little photographers camp, children will learn how to properly hold a camera, focus through a camera lens, see how a camera works and more! They will have the opportunity to use a variety of cameras available. Throughout camp young photographers will create their very own photo gallery of the beautiful park and farm animals. Bring your own camera or one will be provided for you during camp only. This is a drop off program. Parents do not stay. Program will meet at Exploration Station.

NEW! Bear's Honey Pot

It’s National Honey Bee Day! Did you know there are 20,000 different species of bees all around the world? And they can fly up to 6 miles and as fast as 15 miles per hour? Join us at the farm for an educational program about bees. Bear also has a small pot of sweet honey just for you! This is a drop off program. Parents do not stay. Program will be held at Perry Farm Barn.

Come spend the morning with us! Our junior intro to finance course contains very beneficial life skills for young people. Local bank reps will teach kids about the world of currency! Topics discussed will be: saving & spending, lending & borrowing, set goals and budgeting, and career choices. A student handbook, supplies, and donuts are provided. All participants will receive a useful gift for attending. This is a drop off program. Parents do not stay.

Cheer Camp • Ages 6 - 12

Our camp is available for boys and girls wanting to reap the benefits of cheer and have fun! The cheer squad will learn the meaning of true sportsmanship, self-discipline, hard work, team work, physical fitness, mental strength, confidence and self-esteem. Cooking Around the World • Ages 6 - 12

Calling all junior foodies! Let us create, prepare and cook tasty meals from around the world! Junior chefs have the ultimate cooking challenge this week! Here's the menu: a most-liked Spanish Cuisine, a Switzerland favorite, the ideal German Cuisine, a special Irish dish, and a traditional comfort food from Brazil! You will gain experience with following recipe instructions, kitchen tools and equipment, measuring, plating and more! We will also be learning about each country's history and culture.

Dive into the Summer Art Series: "Exploring our Environment," a dynamic blend of creativity and nature immersion. Whether it's a weekly adventure or a monthly exploration, join us at various enchanting locations or exclusively at the serene Perry Farm Park. Let’s explore the world of photography basics. Young photographers will discuss how to properly hold a camera, discussions on how a camera operates, learn proper composition, and use a variety of different cameras available. Students can apply what they've learned as they take beautiful photos at Perry Farm Park and farm! Bring your own camera or one will be provided for you during camp only. Program meet at Exploration Station.

NEW! Bear’s Honey Pot

It’s National Honey Bee Day! Did you know there are 20,000 different species of bees all around the world? And they can fly up to 6 miles and as fast as 15 miles per hour? Join us at the farm for an educational program about bees. Bear also has a small pot of sweet honey just for you! This is a drop off program. Parents do not stay. Program will be held at Perry Farm Barn.

Banana Splits, Movie & Game Night

Come show off your smile! Spend an evening in Italy with the Mona Lisa! Fresh fruit and cheese will be served. Come master one stroke painting and become famous like Leonardo da-Vinci. Each artist will receive an Italian food box for dinner. Canvas and supplies included. Every participant will receive a special keepsake from the Mona Lisa.

NEW! Cruise the Caribbean

Young travelers, grab your passport! ALL ABOARD! Come join our Cruise Director as we visit a new exciting island each day. Your itinerary will be packed with activities such as: creating piñatas, design your own bling beach sandals, create tie dye t-shirts, make beach style jewelry, indulge in surf and turf meals and learn tropical punch recipes. Water fun is included of course!

You know the saying, Ice cream Ice cream we all scream for Ice cream! This night was designed for kids to play challenging, competitive, 'score keeping', heart poundin' relay races and more! And that's not all! Next, our "cool down" includes an ice cream bar! Kids will make their own banana splits or ice cream sundaes with all the toppings. An age appropriate movie will be playing during ice cream. This is a drop off program. Parents do not stay.

Ages 7 - 12

Let your children discover the world of Jiu Jitsu, the ultimate in ground defense. This beginner class will start them on a journey that will last a life time. Classes focus on taking ones opponent down to the ground, gaining a dominant position, and using a number of techniques to force them into submission via joint locks or chokeholds. Class taught by 2nd degree Jiu Jitsu black belt and 13 time Hall of Fame Instructor Bernie Gorak II. Class location: Martial Arts Academy, 236 W Broadway, Bradley.

NEW! Youth Pickleball

Ages 6 - 12

Students, ready for some evening low-impact fun? No matter what level you are at, it's time to hit the court! If you're a beginner, you will learn the basics of Pickleball while making new friends. Whether practicing or competitive games, our program will be held in the Recreation Station gymnasium in Bradley. Plenty of room! Concessions are available at additional low cost. We supply all sporting equipment. This is a drop off program. Parents do not stay.

Kenpo Mighty Mights • Ages 3 - 6

Ages 7 - 13

Young runners will train alongside experienced adult athletes! Runners will learn to stay consistent with training, proper warm up and cool down, improve running form, speed development, and breathing techniques. Participants will receive expert tips, guidance, and encouragement all the way to the finish line! This is a drop off program. Parents do not stay. Each week, runners will meet by the large white gazebo inside Perry Farm Park (across from the Exploration Station).

Horseback Riding Lessons

• Ages 7 & Older

Students will be introduced to horse basics and safety. They will learn how to approach their horse in its stall, put its halter on, groom, and saddle their horse. In addition, students will learn about basic horse and equipment care. Long pants and shoes with a heel are necessary for safety and comfort. Riding helmets are required and will be provided. Program located at Skyview Farm, 57 S. 8000 W. Road, Kankakee.

Kids Safe Confidence Course • Ages 7 - 14

Children will learn the basics of this Korean Martial art and areas of safety, concentration, awareness and respect, while having fun with the certified instructors, under the direction of Senior Master Instructor Steven Lemner. Classes taught at Lemners Soo Bahk Do, 485 W. Broadway in Bradley

Tiny Tigers Confidence Course

This four week program at Lemners Soo Bahk Do Studio will help teach self-confidence through the method of the Korean Martial Art, Soo Bahk Do. Children will learn the skills needed for safety, concentration, coordination and respect in this action packed fun class under the direction of 8th Degree Black Belt, Steven Lemner. Program located at Lemners Soo Bahk Do, 485 W. Broadway, Bradley.

Want to take that first step in learning about cheerleading? The cheer squad will learn the meaning of true sportsmanship, self discipline, hard work, team work, confidence and self esteem. It's an opportunity to build social skills as well. Get ready to experience tumbling, dance, motions, jumps, basic stunts and more. Perry Farm Garden Plots • All Ages

Do you long for garden fresh vegetables but have no space to plant a garden? How about renting a garden plot? Gardening enthusiasts will want to take advantage of garden plots available at the Perry Farm Park this summer. Garden plots are 20' x 20' and may be used after the ground has been tilled in May. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. There is a $50 deposit fee per plot in addition to program fee. Plots can be purchased at the Farm House only!

Carriage Ride • All Ages

Enjoy a summer ride around Perry Farm trails. This carriage ride will take you to view the beautiful Indian Caves while seeing what summer blossoms will soon offer us all to see! Please arrive 15 minutes prior to departure. Located at Perry Farm Park.

Sip–Paint–Socialize • Ages 21 & Older

Want to put your painting skills to the test? Well, sign up for our sip, paint, and socialize party. You will be given step by step instructions to create a beautiful themed painting. All supplies will be included in the program fee. Wine and a yummy treat will be provided as well. Program located at Perry Farm Pavilion.

Tulip Time • All Ages

Heralded as America’s Best Small Town Festival, the Tulip Time Festival is dedicated to honoring Holland, Michigan’s Dutch heritage. Experience a showcase of millions of tulips, along with world-renowned Dutch Dancers, artisan markets, quilt shows and more! Don’t forget to bring extra spending money for treats, lunch, and goodies you may pick up along the way. Bus will stop at the rest stop in New Buffalo, MI to take a bathroom break halfway through the voyage. Patrons will have the option to stop at the Windmill for a 2-hour excursion, otherwise you can spend time in stunning Downtown Holland. The Windmill charges an admission fee; it is not included in the program fee. Transportation included.

Cantigny Park and War Museum • All Ages

Cantigny Park and War Museum is a hidden gem of outdoor recreation and U.S. history located in beautiful Wheaton, IL. Join us as we honor the 80th anniversary of the storming of the beaches of Normandy on D-Day by visiting this memorial that tells the story of U.S. First Army Division in various military conflicts. Did you know the First Division was once commanded by the publisher of the Chicago Tribune, Colonel Robert R. McCormick? There are over 500 acres to enjoy, including replicas of trenches from World War 1, several tanks, and McCormick's legendary mansion. Please be sure to bring a sack lunch or money for food; transportation only is included in the program fee.

The Chicago Cubs are taking on The St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field over Father's Day Weekend and we've got 29 tickets for the game! Morton Arboretum • All Ages

When Joy Morton established The Morton Arboretum in 1922, he envisioned a great outdoor museum of trees. Today, the Morton Arboretum is a living collection that inspires visitors to appreciate, learn about, plant, and protect trees. Join us in admiring the transition from spring to summer throughout The Morton Arboretum's 1,700 acres which holds more than 222,000 live plants. Ticket to The Arboretum is included along with transportation. Lunch is available for purchase or you are welcome to bring your own for a picnic on the green!

Chicago Architecture River Cruise and Lunch All Ages

Climb aboard the Odyssey Chicago River for a two-hour cruise on the famous Chicago River. This guided tour will venture down each of the 3 branches of the river highlighting 28 different architectural landmarks. You'll discover the story behind the story of many of these well-known landmarks while enjoying a delicious lunch served with style. Menopause the Musical

Menopause the Musical is a hilariously honest account of four women approaching a transitional moment in life and is comically told by those in the know. SilverSneakers® Flex™ Classic Senior Aerobics

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily life. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance. Chairs are available if needed for seated or standing support.

Senior HIIT Class

This is a faster paced class where you will go through exercises to target your entire body in a little over 45 minutes. This class will make your everyday motions/activities a little easier. Come improve your strength and health one movement at a time.

Therapeutic Tai Chi • Ages 55 and Up

This class consists of chair exercises, full body stretching, a basic 9 form Tai Chi set and Qi Gong. All with focus on balance and mobility with time for contemplation. This class will leave you feeling energized without even breaking a sweat. This session of Tai Chi is FREE but registration is required! You will be guided by a trained instructor through Catholic Charities Diocese of Joliet and Funding for this class provided through a grant from the Agency of Aging of Northeastern Illinois. We hope to see you there to take advantage of the many benefits of this class and become a better, healthier, happier YOU!

Zumba

This modified dance fitness program is specifically designed for older adults, providing a workout that promotes cardiovascular health, flexibility and overall well-being. Zumba incorporates low-impact dance moves that are gentle on the joints while still offering a fantastic workout.

Aqua Fit

Jump right into our aqua fit classes and build cardiovascular fitness and strength. Just like swimming, our aqua aerobics class are easy on your joints, yet challenging enough to help you reach new levels of fitness. Due to their low impact format, this water class is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Participants may bring their own water shoes if desired. Showers & locker rooms available. WAIVER AND RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS AND PERMISSION TO SECURE TREATMENT

**Please read this form carefully and be aware in registering yourself or your minor child(ren)/wards for participation in any programs of the Bourbonnais Township Park District, you will be waiving and releasing all claims for injuries you or your child(ren)/wards might sustain arising therefrom and also giving permission to secure treatment for any said injuries.

I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury to participants in the programs, and I agree to assume the sole and full risk of any injuries, damages or losses regardless of severity which I or my minor child(ren)/ wards may sustain as a result of participating in any and all activities connected with or associated with any such programs.

I agree to waive and relinquish any and all claims I, or my minor child(ren)/ wards, may have against the Bourbonnais Township Park District and its officers, agents, servants and employees as a result of participating in the programs.

I do hereby fully release and discharge the Bourbonnais Township Park District and its officers, agents, servants and employees from any and all claims resulting from injuries, damages and losses which I, or my minor child(ren)/ wards, may have or which may accrue to me or my minor child(ren)/wards and arising out of, connected with, or in any way associated with the activities of the programs.

I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless and defend, at my sole expense, the Bourbonnais Township Park District and its officers, agents, servants and employees from any and all claims resulting from injuries, damages or losses sustained by me or my minor child(ren)/wards arising out of, connected with, or in any way associated with he activities of the programs.

In the event of any emergency, I authorize the Bourbonnais Township Park District representatives to secure from any licensed hospital, physician and/

or medical personnel any treatment deemed necessary by them for the immediate care of me or my child(ren)/wards, and I agree that I will be solely responsible for the payment of any and all medical services rendered with no right to recovery, having waived my right to same from the Bourbonnais Township Park District, its representatives or its insurance provider.

I allow use any and all photographs, audio, and/or video that contain my (or that of the participant, if signed by a parent or guardian) voice, image, likeness and/or image for promotional and/or publicity purposes. I hereby waive any right to inspect or approve the finished photograph, audio, video, advertising copy, or printed matter that may be used in conjunction therewith or the eventual use to which it may be applied. The Park District will only use the aforementioned photograph, audio, and/or video for promotional and/or publicity purposes for brochures, flyers, website design, cable television/radio programs, pamphlets and/or any other form of media presentations used by the Park District to promote and/or publicize its recreational programs and event offerings.
