Spring cannot be far away, the calendar tells us so,
The winds will lose their cutting edge, no more threats of snow.

You’ll catch a look at daffodils, their beauty has you singing, It’s said that daffodils are a sign of a new beginning.
Crocuses and tulips send a message of their own,
That nature is at work again, new seeds of life are sown.
The hedgehog in its cosy nest, will slowly come awake, A yawn and the awakening and then that final shake.
The magic that is nature sends its message underground,
The dormouse blinks away the sleep, there is no other sound.
You’ll gradually hear the rustling of bats sleeping in the trees, Throughout the winter they kept warm while human beings freeze. You may be driving off to work, past hedgerows yet to bloom, Hawthorn and hazel will join up, the birds will nest there soon.
Majestic trees, although still bare, will blossom, give them time, They’ll give cover to the owls until they reach their prime.
Willow, birch, the sturdy oak will soon be at their best,
We have this beauty all around, our country, we are blessed.
I know these times will get us down, we feel sorry for ourselves, But wait until December comes and those ruddy Elves ...
