President's Letter As the world continues to acclimate to the notion of life beyond the pandemic, I find myself profoundly grateful for all the ways the BSM community came together during one of the most challenging years in our history. This issue of the Crown and Shield is a testament to the strength of your partnership, the ingenuity and dedication of our faculty and staff, and the outstanding resolve of Red Knights: • Despite the innumerable challenges of the pandemic, students benefited from in-person instruction throughout the year, thereby receiving a holistic education that bolstered their spiritual, academic, and social growth. • Red Knights were able to flourish spiritually with regular in-person prayer and opportunities to celebrate mass. • Co-curricular participation led to multiple national and state awards in activities and athletics. • 217 Red Knights graduated with their own unique plans to make the world a better place for all of us. And what’s more, strong enrollment trends indicate that families continue to see the value of a holistic, Catholic, BSM education. The future is indeed bright! Of course, none of the success of this past year would have been possible without the grace of God and the support and creativity of those in our community. Alums, students, faculty and staff, parents, grandparents, benefactors, and numerous volunteers united in unprecedented ways to ensure we were able to continue delivering on our mission - and that we’re well positioned to continue delivering on our mission far into the future. Thank you for your dedication to this important community. I enjoyed seeing so many of you on the golf course at the annual Joranger Open in June – every graduating class from 1959 to 2021 was represented. It was wonderful to get back together with our community and reflect on the trials and triumphs of this past year. This summer, we are busy planning other events and opportunities so we can experience the fellowship that is so vital to our community. Stay tuned for more information about homecoming events and other in-person gatherings. I pray all of you are enjoying a much-deserved relaxing summer as we look to a future bolstered by the bonds of friendship and the promise of hope. Red Knights Dream Big

No one can deny the challenges of the past year, yet Red Knights proved again and again they are well equipped to face whatever the future may hold -- and what a bright future it is looking to be with BSM graduates at the helm!

Expansive and inspiring, Red Knight dreams are as unique and inspiring as the individual. In the fall, graduates from the Class of 2021 will be found at colleges and universities around the globe - from the coast of Scotland, to the deserts of Arizona, to the many exceptional schools in Minnesota. Furthermore, the Navy will be gaining a Red Knight, junior hockey programs will showcase BSM talent, and still other alums will take a gap year to obtain aviation certifications, join the workforce, and complete wilderness EMT training. More than 25 graduates will continue their athletic pursuits beyond high school, three Red Knights were granted a spot in the very selective and prestigious B.A. to M.D. 4

Younger Students Poised to Keep Tradition of Excellence Going Current students are excited to continue the impressive legacy of the Red Knights before them and have already displayed a remarkable drive and array of talent. Athletic teams are ready for success, new clubs are being formed all the time, and students are constantly pushing their hearts and minds to new heights. In May, dozens of Red Knights presented their forward-thinking, innovative projects at the firstever RED (Research, Engineering, and Design) Expo event, which featured collaborative work around a search and rescue robot, research into the effects of vaping, published works of poetry, and so much more.

Though it was an unprecedented year, thanks to unyielding support from the BSM community and a strong belief in their own future, Red Knights did not stop working toward their dreams – and the future for all of us looks brighter because of it.

Stephanie Nitchals Appointed as New Senior High Principal

Over the past 17 years, Stephanie Nitchals has served in three Catholic schools as an English teacher, guidance counselor, dean of academics, high school principal, and head of school - and now she is bringing her depth of experience to BSM as the new senior high principal.

Dennis Draughn Appointed as New Director of Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging In early July, Dennis Draughn joined BSM as the first-ever director of equity, inclusion, and belonging. “In this new role, Dennis will lead our efforts to continue fostering an inclusive community in accordance with our Catholic Social Teachings,” said President Adam Ehrmantraut. “Dennis’s experience and expertise, coupled with his strong Christian faith, will help to guide us as we strive to be the best we can be.” Dennis has an impressive array of experience. He is an awardwinning National Guard Veteran, has served as a middle and high school teacher, dean of students, equity and achievement coordinator, and professional development specialist in the public sector. In his most recent role as the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) district director in Osseo Area Schools, he was

“I have no doubt Stephanie’s skills and expertise will propel BSM to new heights as we fulfill the promises of our mission and vision,” said President Adam Ehrmantraut. “Her passion for innovative thinking and dedication to excellence will greatly benefit our community.” A native Minnesotan, Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota and earned her Master of Arts in Education from University of St. Thomas. “I can think of no better way to fulfill my passion for Catholic education than by serving at BSM,” Stephanie said. “I have always known Benilde-St. Margaret’s to be at the forefront of education innovation, and I can’t wait to partner with the dedicated, passionate, and talented faculty and staff to take the important work of BSM to the next level.” Stephanie will replace Dr. Susan Skinner, who departed BSM at the end of the 2021 school year to become the new Vice President for Mission at Hill-Murray Catholic School in Maplewood, Minn.

Class of 2021 Valedictorians & Salutatorian Annabella Bolin’s organizational and study skills, coupled with her general determination, helped her to excel in the classroom and earn the title of valedictorian. Bolin will be pursuing a degree in Marketing from the University of Minnesota. Valedictorian Jacqueline Bucaro is a successful public speaker, having competed with and captained BSM’s debate and speech teams multiple years. She plans to study international relations, with a focus on international politics, at Georgetown University in the fall. Salutatorian Nick Burlage has been dedicating himself to his studies throughout high school, balancing academics with his demanding soccer schedule. He will be studying finance at Indiana University next year. From varsity softball captain, to math league team captain, to president of the medical club, to working a part-time job and volunteering, valedictorian Michelle Doering has been very active throughout her BSM tenure. Doering’s next steps include completing the 3+2 PA Program with St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and Mayo Clinic. “It really wasn’t easy, but it feels very rewarding to know that my four years of hard work paid off,” valedictorian Claire Hennen said. Hennen participated in gymnastics, diving, RKVC, medical club, Knightlife, and NHS during her time at BSM. She will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the fall to major in biology. “Putting all my work, like hard work, in for four years and not missing a step is definitely an achievement that I take great pride in,” valedictorian Andrés Jiménez said. Jiménez is pursuing a major in electrical engineering at the University of St. Thomas to follow his love for math, science, and puzzles. “My parents gave me lots of encouragement; they taught me the importance of determination,” valedictorian Leonardo Jiménez said. Jiménez plans on taking his academic prowess to the University of St. Thomas where he will be studying electrical engineering. Valedictorian Maya Jones’ independence, work ethic, and expertise in the classroom have been noted by many of her teachers at BSM. Jones is committed to playing D1 hockey and studying at Union College to pursue a degree in biochemistry.

Mason Kelley didn’t set out to be a valedictorian; instead, he was motivated to be a good student. Science Teacher Mark Peterson confirms this: “Not only did he do his own great work, but he offered classmates insight to their work…he brought a real depth of knowledge and curiosity to the class.” Kelley plans to major in chemical engineering while attending the University of South Carolina. “I’m happy to have had so many good classes in my time at BSM, so to me, being a valedictorian shows how much I enjoyed learning about everything,” Ryan Kraemer said. Kraemer will be pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Southern California. “Thomas walked into the room every day ready to learn something new. His overall curiosity, love of history, and outstanding analytical abilities enabled him to offer thoughtful ideas to class,” Social Studies Teacher Cherie Vroman said of valedictorian Thomas Libbey. Libbey plans to attend St. John’s University to major in biology on the pre-med track. Valedictorian Demi Mills will be attending the University of Notre Dame to study biology on the pre-med track. Teachers have noted Mills’ leadership, self-motivation, and curiosity as characteristics that set her apart in class and help her excel. Paige Mullin was involved with co-curriculars including Knight Life, RKVC, medical club, NHS, and gymnastics outside of school. In the classroom, Mullin’s attention to detail and work ethic propelled her to valedictorian status. Mullin looks forward to studying nursing at the University of Miami. “She is so thoughtful, and asks great questions; she makes others’ work better by helping them think it through,” Engineering Teacher Anne Dougherty said of valedictorian Oriana Sampson. Sampson will be attending MIT for data science, machine learning, and business. When reflecting on the rigors of high school, valedictorian Hampton Weber said,“There were some sacrifices, but I look at it more as an investment in myself.” Weber will be attending the Carlson School of Business at the University of Minnesota for entrepreneurship.

Outstanding Seniors Earn The Al Reger Award is given each year to two students, one male and one female, chosen by the BSM faculty and staff, for “outstanding dedication and zeal to the service of God and school.”

Johan Dominguez Lopez From the moment Johan Dominguez Lopez stepped into BSM as a seventh grader, it was clear his big heart and gentle, welcoming personality were going to make a lasting impact. A true servant leader, he is dedicated to his community and to God, and takes great pride in lifting up those around him. He also pushes himself to explore his passions and has an unwavering commitment to excellence. In his time at BSM, Johan was captain of the speech and ultimate frisbee teams, and he participated in debate, national honor society, national history society, national language society, and jazz band. He was instrumental in inspiring students to get involved in affinity groups, played an integral role in the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month and Black History Month, served as a teacher assistant, and was a Model United Nations youth ambassador. Described by his peers as engaged, passionate, and friendly, Johan is dedicated to justice and leads by example.

When asked what makes him the proudest about his time at BSM, Johan noted, “I’m happy to look back and see how I encouraged others to use their own voices and talents to enact the change they want to see. I was fortunate enough to have others look out for me, and I’m glad to know I was able to do the same for those who will come after me.” Johan’s leadership and commitment to community earned him a full tuition Act Six scholarship, which he will use to attend Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. this fall. He plans to study applied mathematics and applied physics and hopes to one day obtain his Master’s in mechanical engineering.

Al Reger Awards Sophie Coleman

Passionate, courageous, inspiring, and driven - that’s how Sophie Coleman’s friends describe her, and it’s those qualities that propelled her to accomplish incredible things in her highschool career. During her four years at BSM, Sophie excelled in several academic areas and participated in national honor society, medical club, link crew, speech, math league, soccer, and track. She was also captain of the basketball team for two years, and served as a member of the Red Knight Volunteer Corp (RKVC) and Red Knights for Human Rights club. She is a fantastic student, hard-working athlete, and perhaps most importantly, she’s been an unfailingly kind presence in the BSM halls. Sophie credits BSM’s strong biomed program for helping her reach beyond herself and accomplish things she never thought possible. In May, Dr. Adam Ehrmantraut presented the President’s Award to eight outstanding members of the Class of 2021: Charles Damberg, Andrew Forby, Lauren Hawkinson, Maliah Jaiteh, Nicholas Marinaro, Iris Pflum, Theodore Pohlen, and George Wolfe. With diverse talents and abilities, these student leaders embraced their passions and served the BSM community on the field, the court, the pitch, the slopes, and the dance floor. They were in the court room, on mission trips, at the microphone, in NHS, peer ministry and Student Council. They were phenomenal students, dedicated athletes, strong servant leaders, and agents working for change. BSM is better because of them.

Hardwork and Talent

Propels Red Knight Athletes to the Top Red Knights Taylor Williams ‘21 and Jonny Woodford ‘21 have made their mark on BSM athletics, earning the Athena Award and Al Blasing Award respectively for their impressive tenures as student-athletes. Arriving as freshmen in 2017, both were quick to join sports and activities. Williams was an active member of clubs such as link crew, national honor society, and medical club to name a few; most notably, Williams made a splash on the girls’ swim and dive team. She served as captain for the 2020 season while also helping coach the junior varsity swimmers. Throughout her four-year run with the team, Taylor earned a slew of notable accomplishments. She earned All-State and All-Conference honors, BSM MVP, 2A Section Swimmer of the Year, and was nominated all four years for the Class A Swimmer of the Year. On top of this, Williams is a 4-time State Champion and 5-time AllAmerican. Williams holds the BSM girls’ swim records in the 200 yd Free, 200 yd IM, 100 yd Butterfly, 100 yd Free, 100 yd Backstroke, and she also swam as part of the record-holding 200 yd Medley Relay, 200 yd Free Relay, and 400 yd Free Relay teams.

Taylor competes at a level not often seen in high school athletics, yet she is grounded and looks out for others. Williams attributes this to the impact Campus Minister Mike Jeremiah has played in her time at BSM: “Mr. J has been an incredible role model for many students including myself. He has shown me what true compassion and kindness looks like. He has always been a smiling face in the hallways and someone who I could always go to for advice or just to talk.” Though Taylor will miss the relationships and teammates she had at BSM, she is eager to foster new friendships at the University of Missouri where she will be swimming and studying biology.

Jonny Woodford found his home on the football field, hockey rink, and baseball diamond during his time as a Red Knight. Earning 11 varsity letters, Woodford was a three-sport athlete and senior captain of the football and baseball teams. From hitting a triple at Target Field while playing in the State Championship his sophomore year, to winning the KARE 11 Hot Highlights of the Week for his impressive touchdown catch his senior year, Woodford has made countless plays that have solidified him as an outstanding athlete. Coach Hanks describes Jonny as an “exceptional performer, gifted player, and tireless worker who does the little things to make other players around him great. He is humble, gracious, quiet, coachable, and the most ferociously competitive athlete I have ever coached, in football and baseball.” Woodford enjoys looking back on his time as a Red Knight: “I’m going to miss all the coaches I have had - BSM has great coaches that want to make you better all the time, and the friends I have met along the way are what made sports fun and a good time.” When offering advice to other BSM athletes, Woodford says, “Don’t worry about what other people think; just put your head down and keep working.” Woodford will be attending University of Jamestown in North Dakota in the fall where he will play baseball and football while pursuing a degree in business. Congratulations, Taylor and Jonny, on a remarkable four years of Red Knight athletics!

Retirees Make a Lasting

Impact

For these employees, working at BSM was more than a job. It was a passion and a way of life - and the students, faculty, and staff who knew them are better because of it. We will miss Attendance Supervisor Kathy Jacobson and Director of Vocal Music Nancy Stockhause, but we wish them all the best in retirement.

Kathy Jacobson For 24 years, Kathy Jacobson was the master of all-things attendance at BSM. She exemplified grace under pressure and always showed a tireless commitment to BSM students and faculty. The mother of three Red Knight alums, Michael ’05, Tannica ’07, and Kelsey ’10, Kathy understood the workings of the teenage mind and instinctively knew how to negotiate a variety of protestations. And if that wasn’t enough, in between parent calls, student notes, and endless questions, she coordinated BSM’s annual round-up event and managed the master calendar. According to George Wolfe ’21, “I don’t think there is another person who could have endured the excuses and stories given to them daily from students with so much kindness and calm. She treated every student with respect and dignity, even if she was holding your phone captive.” In May, Kathy was awarded Staff of the Year for being just as organized, helpful, present, friendly, and impressive as ever in a year when attendance tracking became even more complicated. When asked what she will miss most about working at BSM, Kathy didn’t hesitate when she said, “The community. I will miss the wonderful lifelong friends I’ve been blessed to make, but more than that, I will miss the entertainment, insight, and thoughtfulness of the students. I will always cherish the opportunity I had to get to know each of them.” In her retirement, Kathy will only need to keep track of family and friends – including four grandchildren. Thank you for everything, Kathy! You will be dearly missed.

Nancy Stockhause

By Devin Harrington ’05 There are few faculty at Benilde-St. Margaret’s whose teaching spans both the junior and senior highs. For choir teacher Nancy Stockhaus, having one foot in the junior high and the other in the senior high has been all she has ever known. Since 1997, she has accompanied thousands of Red Knights on their educational journeys as the leader behind all things BSM music. From everyday choir practice to musicals to Masses, Stockhaus has embodied the mission and values of Benilde-St. Margaret’s. Nancy’s musical expertise and passion for the arts no doubt made her an incredible teacher; however, it was her ability to connect and empathize with all her students that truly set her apart as a great educator, colleague, and Red Knight. Whether it was the typical theater student who blatantly made their love of music known, the captain of the football team who subtly enjoyed a good four-part choral arrangement, the mischievous class clown who wound up in choir every year after thinking it would be an easy A, or the quiet wallflower who just needed the right encouragement to share their voice with the world, it was Nancy Stockhaus’s dedication to her teaching that made a difference in every one of her students’ lives. As she embraces the next chapter of her life, there really are not enough words to adequately thank her for her impact on our community. Though she will no longer be seen walking the halls of the junior and senior highs, her legacy will live on for years to come. Congratulations on your retirement, Nancy, and thank you for the gifts of your time, talent, and love all these years at BSM!

Lauren Reuss: Faculty of the Year Energetic, hardworking, creative, passionate - these are only some of the notable words Lauren Reuss’s colleagues use to describe her approach to getting junior high students excited about science. In her fourth year at BSM, Lauren consistently goes out of her way to create unique, hands-on learning experiences that make learning fun - even when things like a worldwide pandemic make life complicated. Whether it’s working with Trout Unlimited or conducting studies on earth worms, she knows how to get her students engaged. She is a true asset to BSM!

Katie Belanger: Apple Polisher Award Mrs. Belanger has a gift for making English engaging and fun, even for students who aren’t naturally drawn to the subject. For 10 years, she has been going out of her way to inspire Red Knights with a love of words, and doing all she can to help the kids in her classroom reach their full potential. She also has a reputation for being kind and approachable. In the words of one student, “Mrs. Belanger is not only an incredible teacher, but a person as a whole. She made me feel like I truly belong at BSM, and she inspired me and the others in her class to become the best writers we could be.”

Adam George: BSM Parents’ Choice Award For nine years, junior high Social Studies Teacher Adam George has been making a life-long impact on the Red Knights in his classroom. With a knack for making history come alive, Mr. George gets kids excited about the important events that have shaped our country - and he does it while making students feel supported and comfortable. As one parent said, “Mr. George has been the person our son has looked up to since the beginning of the year. As a parent, there’s no better feeling than to know your child is being taken care of when you send him off into the world. Thank you, Mr. George.”

St. Margaret’s alumna Clarice Wolfgang Wick celebrated her 100th birthday Jan. 18. Her friends and neighbors hosted a grand celebration decorating her patio with flowers and balloons. The local police and fire departments also paraded through her street to celebrate her big day. Clarice lives by herself in Belton, Texas.

1959

Bob O’Hara was featured in the March-April issue of the Minnesota Conservation Volunteer magazine. The article, “When the Green Light is On, You Go,” describes Bob as “perhaps the most influential Minnesota adventurer you’ve never heard of.” For most of 50 summers, Bob has embarked on canoe journeys to the far north, and it all started in his Benilde days. To read more about Bob’s adventures, google Minnesota Conservation Volunteer magazine. If you are a ‘59 Benilde grad, you might recognize yourself in one of the photos.

John McMenomy’s son, Sean, has been hired as the new BSM head football coach.

1973

Martin Hatlie was recognized by the Patient Safety Movement Foundation with a humanitarian award for his efforts eliminating and raising awareness of preventable patient deaths. Hatlie served as one of the co-chairs for the March for Patient Safety campaign and dedicated much of 2019 and 2020 to launching the initiative.

1974

Bob Kruse retired after 42 years as a pilot with the U.S. Navy, Northwest Airlines, and Delta Airlines. Bob wore his 1985 vintage Northwest Orient Airlines pilot uniform for his final flight. “I’m grateful for the many blessings of my Benilde High School education which served me well during

Mark Vande Hei was assigned to a mission on the International Space Station as a flight engineer and member of the Expedition 64/65 crew. Vande Hei and Russian cosmonauts Oleg Novitskiy and Pyotr Dubrov left for the mission on April 9 aboard the Soyuz MS-18 spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

1988

James Freid is celebrating 25 years of owning Big Bell Ice Cream and five years owning The Minnehaha Scoop. Big Bell provides ice cream to the greater metro area and the scoop shop is a delightful south Minneapolis ice cream stand. Todd Myers and Shelley Rohan Myers have been married for 24 years. Todd founded (2017) and operates Harbor Home Improvement. He just added the management of Wayzata Yacht Club in 2020. Their son, Thomas, will be a senior at Gustavus Adolphus, and son Robert will be a sophomore at St. Mary’s University this fall.

Sarah Wilm Hunter has been administering the COVID-19 vaccine with Vault Health at various sites around Minnesota. Sarah works as a registered nurse.

2000

Michael Mahler’s production of The Monster was awarded a 2021 Richard Rodgers Award for Musical Theater in New York on March 1. The prestigious award is given by the American

Proud alumna and graduate of Providence College Caroline Hitt is making audiences laugh at an improv show at Stevie Ray’s Comedy Cabaret. Since graduating, she has had a whirlwind daytime career spanning advertising to video production, and by night she is a professional comedian lighting up the stages as principal member of Stevie Ray’s improv company troupe.

Carrie McConville Henningsgaard and her husband, Andrew, are the proud parents of Britta Suzanne who was born May 17. Carrie is a learning specialist at Good Shepherd School in Golden Valley and Andrew is a fleet operations specialist at Schwan’s Food Company.

2007

Laura Scherer Lasonde and husband Jared welcomed son Jack Matthew into the world on May 22.

2008

Kellen Gill is a fifth grade teacher at St. Therese Catholic School in Deephaven. Kellen graduated from the University of Minnesota with a M.S. in Education and taught in the Minneapolis and Eden Prairie school districts before joining the faculty at St. Therese.

2009

Writer, artist, and former English teacher Kaia Preus was named as a finalist for a Minnesota Book Award in the Creative Nonfiction & Memoir category. Preus wrote The War Requiem which blends historical fiction, research, and personal memoir.

2013

After many years coaching basketball in the United States, Zach Cave will lead the college program IPRC-Musanze Basketball Club in Rwanda for the next two years. Zach’s coaching career started at Mankato Loyola High School as the team’s assistant head coach. He was also a head coach at Hmong College Prep Academy and an associate head coach at ParkCottage Grove High School.

In April, Christian DuLaney competed in the U.S. Greco Roman wrestling olympic trials in Fort Worth, Texas. He qualified by placing 2nd at a Last Chance qualifying tournament at the end of March. Nick Guggemos has signed a contract with the Seattle Seahawks. He played tight end at St. Thomas but his career was cut short by injuries. Nick participated in the University of Minnesota Pro Day in April and was offered a contract by fellow Tommie graduate and Seahawks general manager John Schneider. After graduating from St. Olaf College in 2018, Michael Kaminski matriculated to the Yale School of Medicine in the fall of 2020. He is currently a first-year medical student interested in gastroenterology and the intersection of medicine and the humanities.

Tracy Renier earned All-Region honors for her outstanding work in the steeplechase at the College of Saint Benedict. She finished runner-up in the event at the MIAC Championship and earned the third-best time in St. Ben’s track and field history. Tracy is a junior at St. Ben’s majoring in economics.

Billy Madden graduated magna cum laude from the Villanova School of Business. Parents Todd and Tippy Madden celebrated Billy’s accomplishment at commencement. Eric Wilson graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a B.A. in psychology and a citation in Spanish. He was the winner of the John P. Reardon ‘60 Award “presented annually to the senior varsity athlete that competes for a men’s team, who exemplifies the qualities of excellent scholarship, character, leadership, and athletic ability - in short, our top scholar athlete from a men’s team.” He will transfer to Penn State for his last year of eligibility on the football field.

Eli Cave is heading to Minot State University to get his masters degree and play his final year of collegiate basketball. Wide receiver Cole Jacob was named a captain for the NDSU football team thanks to his special team abilities. The Bison opened their spring season in late February against Youngstown State at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome. This leadership role will be somewhat familiar to Jacob as he was also a team captain for the Red Knights. Auggie Moore was named MIAC Men’s Athlete of the Week for his efforts on the SJU hockey team. Auggie scored the game winning goal in a February 25 victory over Augsburg. He also scored a power-play goal against St. Thomas the same week.

Riley Miller finished his third season playing for the St. Thomas men’s basketball team. He is majoring in marketing and is an Academic AllMIAC honoree. Riley broke into the starting lineup early in his sophomore season on a Tommie team that finished 26-3 and closed in the top five of the national poll after COVID-19 cut the season short. He returned to lead the Tommies this past season as a starting guard. Miller was also named to the All-West Region team and Player of the Year by D3Hoops.com.

2018

Nathaniel Ashton-Piper graduated from the University of Minnesota with journalism and prelaw degrees and a concentration in Spanish.

2020

Ronan Brew competed on the Mock Trial team at Duke University. As a freshman he was a varsity competitor. Both of Duke’s teams placed in the top five nationally and Ronan earned an All-American award. Ronan was on Mock Trial at BSM for three years and captain for two years. Jack VanOverbeke returned to BSM to cheer on the boys’ lacrosse team. Jack is a freshman on the High Point University men’s lacrosse team and contributed to their second SoCon title with an 11-8 victory over #18 Richmond in May. Jack delivered a big goal in the championship game to push the Panthers back into the lead. The Panthers fell to Duke in their second trip to the NCAA tournament.
