ROAD LESS TRAVELLED

Five years ago, fresh out of training, I joined the Department of Radiology as an Associate Consultant in Hong Kong Children’s Hospital (HKCH), which has just commenced service as the only dedicated Children’s Hospital in our locality. Being the territory-wide tertiary referral centre, HKCH manages children with cancer, cardiac and nephrology conditions, as well as complex cases requiring multidisciplinary care. The hospital is funded by the public healthcare system, which is very similar to the NHS trust.
