Each year the Chamber recognizes businesses that are active members of the community and proud of what they have achieved in business. Companies may nominate themselves, be nominated or nominate another company. Nomination forms are available online, at the Chamber office, and within this newsletter. Deadline: Monday, November 19, 2018. ALL nominated companies are recognized by the Chamber at the December monthly luncheon on Thursday, December 20, 2018. The winner will be announced at the Chamber’s Annual Banquet on Friday, January 18, 2019.
The guidelines are: • Must be a Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce member in good standing. • Must be in business for a minimum of three (3) years.

Councilman Chris Lievsay has been elected President of the Missouri Municipal League. William Bryant Elementary School is one of eight Missouri Schools awarded with Blue Ribbon Status for being in the top 15% academically. The Blue Springs Police Department has been awarded national re-accredidation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). Steve Sterthman with Aflac has recently teamed up with Healthcare Solutions. This will allow Steve to offer more options to his clients and provide a more-complete health care package for individuals and groups. Print Graphics has welcomed new owner, Tim Lynch. The current seventeen-cent fuel tax is the fourth lowest in the country.
