Congratulations to Meyer Music on being awarded the Distinguished Award by the Missouri American String Teachers Association at the 85th Annual Missouri Music Educator Association Conference. Mike and Tom Meyer of Meyer Music were also named as recipients of the Woody Herman Award for Excellence in Jazz Education. The family of Woody Herman created the award in 2022 to honor jazz educators and advocates of jazz education who have made a significant impact on the lives of student musicians.

The City of Blue Springs has welcomed Kelli Taylor as the new Communications Manager. This critical leadership role will lead the public relations, marketing and community engagement efforts throughout City Hall.

Congratulations to Blue Springs School District Superintendent Dr. Bob Jerome for being presented the “Emerging Superintendent Award” from the Missouri Association of School Administrators. The award recognizes outstanding individuals in their second or third year as Superintendent. Honorees selected demonstrate the best in educational leadership skills.

Congratulations to Trisha Kennedy, Kennedy’s Custom Jewelers, on receiving the Hope House Philanthropy Leadership Award. Trisha is a long time advocate for women and children, and those affected by domestic violence hold a special place in her heart. She has supported Hope House for several years, both personally and through her family business, Kennedy’s Custom Jewelers.

AAA Disposal Service is celebrating their 60th anniversary! AAA was started by Robert & Caroline Holmberg in 1963 with the purchase of one truck.

Worlds of Fun is celebrating their 50th anniversary! The park opened on May 26, 1973. Founded by Lamar Hunt, Worlds of Fun started as Kansas City’s Family Fun Adventure. It quickly grew into a theme park larger than any amusement park in the Midwest! Today it spans more than 325 acres with unique themed areas, a record-breaking waterpark with Oceans of Fun, and the resort for getaways that feel worlds away with the Worlds of Fun Village.

My name is Melissa Guzman owner of The Grid on Main Studio & Event Space.

The Grid on Main’s mission is to provide a modern and stylish space for all of your small special occasions. We host anything from micro weddings, baby showers, birthday parties, workshops & more. The Grid on Main opened in November of 2022 and we’ve received such great support from the community since.

My husband Eric, two daughters, and I moved to Blue Springs about 5 years ago and absolutely fell in love with the area. When I’m not at The Grid you can find me selling real estate, dabbling in photography, or at the dog park with our 4 mastiffs.
