MEMBER NEWS St. Mary’s Medical Center welcomed new CEO Ron L. Baker, FACHE, CMPE, former CEO of Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Kansas City. There will be a Meet and Greet on Wednesday, May 5 from 8-10 am in the St. Mary’s Education Center. This event is open to all Chamber members.

Community Blood Center is looking to connect with organizations willing to support our local healthcare system through blood donation. If you would like to inquire about hosting a blood drive, please contact Dawn Eblen at deblen@cbckc.org or call 816-352-2342.

Raising Cane’s Founder, Todd Graves, has launched a new show called Restaurant Recovery helping Restaurants in need across the country due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The series kicked off on April 15th, with new doubleepisodes airing Thursdays on Discovery+!

Miller 8 Theatre is having a fundraiser to support Blue Springs City Theatre LIVE! On May 8 from 12pm - 4pm 30% of ALL fudge sales will be donated to Blue Springs City Theatre! Timothy Lutheran Church is hosting the 2021 Live Well Community Fair on Saturday, June 5 from 10am-2pm, at Timothy Ministries, 301 E. Wyatt Road, Blue Springs. There is no cost or registration to attend; the first 100 visitors will receive a complimentary event water bottle.

More than 25 organizations and ministries that promote physical, mental and spiritual wellness will be featured. Meet Slugger from the Kansas City Royals, challenge yourself on inflatable obstacle courses, learn about pet adoption, explore a fire truck and ambulance, and purchase a famous burger!

MEET A MEMBER Lance Strahm, Schlotzsky’s I’m Lance Strahm, Owner/Operator of Schlotzsky’s in Blue Springs. Our mission is to create, develop, and participate in an environment that provides strength, joy, and happiness to all those around us and to provide outstanding food, service, and fun environment for our guests.

My wife, Kasey, and I have two boys, Cooper, 16 and Cameron,13. I’m was born in Paola, KS and grew up in Roeland Park, KS. I attended Shawnee Mission North High School and went to KU (Rock Chalk!) for college. My hobbies are limited to coaching my 13 year old son’s soccer team, watching both boys in the sports, and watching all the local teams (KU of course, Royals, Chiefs, Sporting, Mavericks, and Comets. (I have yet to attend the new KC women’s soccer matches, but plan to.)

MEET A BOARD MEMBER Ashish Patel, Hampton Inn Kansas City - Blue Springs I am the owner of the Blue Springs Hampton Inn. With two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, I am hands-on in my role, working directly alongside my staff to create the best possible experience for our valued guests. I pride myself on having built a strong service culture, and I bring the same serviceoriented approach to community initiatives. With the ongoing challenges of the pandemic impacting the tourism sector in particular, the Blue Springs Chamber and greater community have been incredibly supportive. I’m excited to have this opportunity to contribute and serve with this great group of forward-thinking business leaders. This will be my first year on the Chamber board, and while I’m relatively new to the Blue Springs community, my family and I have felt incredibly welcome here. My wife co-owns the business with me, and our daughter is
