LEADERSHIP DAY AT THE CAPITAL The Blue Springs LEADership class toured the capital on February 10 and met with representatives Jeff Coleman, Mike Cierpiot, and Dr. Jon Patterson.
LUNCH & LEARN “WHEN THINGS GET MESSY” Our first Lunch & Learn was a panel discussion on “When Things Get Messy”, held on February 8, 2022. The topics included overcoming obstacles, doing things that can be messy and hard, and the determination to make it happen. Panelists included Chamber members Kevin Girtz, Director of Sales at Moxie Pest Control, Kimberly Utz, Marketing Representative at SERVPRO East Independence/Blue Springs, Randy Wisthoff, Executive Director of the Kansas City Zoo Foundation and Greg Johnson, owner of A-Okay Inspections. Thank you to St. Mary’s Medical Center for sponsoring this event, and to Los Cabos Mexican Grill & Cantina for providing lunch. The next Lunch & Learn will be held on April 12, 2022 and will be a panel discussion about running a family business.
LEGISLATIVE BREAKFAST The Chamber hosts four Legislative Breakfasts each year giving members a chance to hear updates provided by state elected officials. Attendees are able to ask questions of Senator Mike Cierpiot and Representatives Jeff Coleman, Jon Patterson, Dan Stacy and Chris Sander. The next Legislative Breakfast will be held Friday, March 4 at Adams Pointe Golf Club.
