MEET A BOARD MEMBER Zach Goff I am a partner with the Oswald Roam & Rew law firm, and my main practice areas are real estate, corporate/transactional and taxation. I’ve been on the Chamber board for one year and I enjoy staying on top of what is happening in the community and hearing the success stories, challenges and growth of business and government entities in the community. I have learned that there are some people in this community that are very dedicated to its success! They do a lot of work for no pay and very little recognition but they really are the glue that keep the community together. We should be thankful for them. I enjoy boating, going for walks, and I watch every Royals and Chiefs game that I possibly can. My family is from Eastern Jackson County. My parents have lived in Blue Springs for more than 20 years and I live in Lee’s Summit. I graduated from Truman High School in Independence. So I have made the rounds in the various cities.

City Council Allows Businesses to Expand Footprint On Monday, May 20, the Blue Springs City Council voted unanimously to approve an ordinance that will ultimately allow businesses to modify or expand their premises and seating by using adjacent outdoor areas to serve as many customers as possible under the Jackson County Recovery Plan guidelines with the approval of the Mayor and City Administrator. Businesses interested in expanding their outdoor footprint should call the Community Development Department at 816228-0207 to apply. Both the Mayor and the City Administrator must jointly approve the action. Outdoor patio at East Forty Brewing.
RECOVERY PLAN PHASES 2-3 Jackson County has released Recovery Plan Phases 2-3. Phase two of the County’s plan will take effect on Monday, June 1. A start date has not yet been determined for phase three, however, each phase is estimated to last at least 14-28 days. In this 27 page document, there are specific guidelines for each industry.
