Mike Zarda passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Sunday, June 2nd, 2019. Zarda’s Bar-B-Q, which joined the Chamber in 1971, was founded in part by Mike. The legacy and business he left behind will always be remembered as what helps make Blue Springs a wonderful city.

Meet Sean Barnard Sean is a former casino executive who lived in the corporate world for 40 years before starting his locally owned Bambou Salons & Spas with 2 locations in Overland Park and a third in Blue Springs. “We opened in 2017 at a time when the former owner was about to close the doors, but we loved the talented stylists and the location. We are lucky enough to have plenty of parking and having the FieldHouse as our neighbor has been wonderful.” Barnard also believes in being a proactive member of the community in each of his locations; “We say YES to every request for 501c(3) fundraisers and we offer a 10% discount to all City of Blue Springs employees and members of the FieldHouse”. Barnard states that his business has been growing, “We just added another professional stylist to our team because our client list has been steadily growing. I attribute that to highly qualified stylists and great service.
