FROM THE CHAMBER Welcome to the Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce! It is an honor to serve as Chairman of the Board for 2022. I am so proud to call Blue Springs home for the last 17 years. Having grown up in the Kansas City area, I always thought I would like to live in Blue Springs so when the opportunity to have a State Farm Agency here opened up in 2005 my wife and I jumped at the opportunity to move to Blue Springs. The amazing school district was certainly at the top of the list of reasons why and now after having two children graduate from here and a third finishing soon, I can say we we’re not disappointed! The Chamber has great working relationships with our School District, local colleges, and city leaders as well as our Police and Fire departments. In my time on the Board I have had the chance to work with many of these fine people and we are blessed to have them educating, leading and protecting our city. I am so excited for the future of the Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce. Everyone knows that the Chamber supports local business. We know this chamber promotes, connects, and strengthens the community. But under Lara Vermillion’s leadership the Blue Springs Chamber is poised to do even more by seeking out problems and needs in our community and finding ways to solve them. We have come through this pandemic even stronger and better prepared to help our businesses navigate the new normal. In 2021 we took our first big step into Chamber Signature Programs with the purchase of the business assets of 3D Mobile Notary. This program provides an additional revenue source to the Chamber while also providing a great service to our community and sets the stage for more Signature Programs in the future. As always, we want to encourage you to shop locally and get involved in your community. We have real challenges ahead; labor shortages, inflation, healthcare, and a pandemic that still won’t go away, just to name a few, but when we work together and build off of each other’s thoughts and ideas we can accomplish great things and turn problems into opportunities. I look forward to serving with you in 2022!

HISTORY OF BLUE SPRINGS, MISSOURI Blue Springs’ history is tied to the migration of settlers on their westward journey. Pioneers found the area to be an ideal stopover due to the abundance of cool, clean water from a spring of the Little Blue River—hence the name Blue Springs. The presence of water and a need for pioneer supplies led to the construction of a grist mill and permanent settlement at the current site of the City’s Burrus Old Mill Park on Woods Chapel Road.
City the fourth settlement in the county to be incorporated. Today, Blue Springs is a progressive, business-friendly community in which to grow your ideas and your business. We are well known for our favorable housing market, award-winning schools, and our designation as a preferred place to live, work and play.

FROM OUR MEMBERS
“Through the Chamber I have developed great relationships with other business owners in the hospitality industry. I’m proud to be a part of that group. During COVID the Chamber really lived up to their mission and did a fantastic job of understanding what we’re going through and figuring out how to support us and get us through. That’s the value we’re looking for. Feeling supported and being a member of the business community.”
