THE ART OF BELONGING
Expertly Settling Families and Empowering Students
Transition with Care
Since 1969, our school has acted as the expert partner for international families. With over five decades of experience, we specialise in the unique rhythm of global life, ensuring that every move to Belgium becomes a period of academic growth and personal development.

Students aged across our Primary and Secondary years learn together on a single, green, village-style campus in Tervuren. Our community is genuinely international, representing over 70 nations, and is balanced by a strong local presence. As a non-profit organisation, we reinvest entirely in our students to foster a culture of True Belonging. We ensure every child is known and valued from their very first day because we understand that when families are mobile, a quick and warm integration is essential.
WE DO NOT SIMPLY ENROL STUDENTS; WE SETTLE FAMILIES

Expertise in seamless entry and global portability is what defines our admissions. Whether students join mid-term or stay for only a few years, our curriculum is designed for an easy transition. Our world-class qualifications act as an international gateway, ensuring students can move confidently to any school system or university worldwide. We do not simply enrol students; we settle families, leaving them perfectly prepared for wherever the journey leads next.
Welcoming You
A successful school transition is the cornerstone of a happy relocation. We provide a landing that is as warm as it is professional, ensuring your child is ready to thrive from day one.

Academic Continuity
International lives do not always align with the standard school calendar. Our admissions process is designed to bridge the gap between different systems and mid-term arrivals. Our team conducts individual discussions with every family to identify the most suitable starting point. We closely examine previous academic reports and history to plan the specific support your child might need before they even step onto campus. We welcome students throughout the academic year and can offer creative solutions for those joining later in an exam cycle. When beneficial, we also facilitate direct communication with our academic leaders to ensure a seamless curriculum transition.
Language Pathways
Our school is a multilingual hub where world languages are celebrated alongside English. We provide tailored support for those new to English in small groups, ensuring they can access our full curriculum as quickly as possible. For families seeking deeper local immersion, our distinctive English-French bilingual pathway allows students to learn in both languages daily. We also offer Dutch from the primary years through to the end of school, helping students connect with the culture of Flanders. We encourage students to maintain their first language, reflecting the global diversity of our campus.

Thriving
at BSB
Your child’s daily experience is shaped by the belief that students learn best when they feel safe, seen, and appropriately challenged. We ensure that even a short stay in Belgium becomes a period of meaningful achievement and personal discovery.

A Place to Belong
Strong, personal relationships are the heartbeat of our school. In the younger years, class teachers provide a constant and supportive presence, while older students benefit from the guidance of dedicated tutors and heads of year. We intentionally maintain a culture of first-name relationships, which breaks down the barriers between pupils and staff. This accessible atmosphere ensures that every child feels a sense of true belonging, knowing they always have a trusted adult to turn to.
Personalised Challenge
Academic ambition is balanced with a commitment to individual growth. Whether a student requires additional support or a more demanding curriculum, our experienced teams for additional educational needs and language support ensure that learning is both accessible and rigorous. We focus on educating the whole child, blending a broad curriculum with social and emotional development. By encouraging students to step just beyond their comfort zones in a safe environment, we help them develop the resilience needed for a global future.
OUR CAMPUS IS ALIVE WITH OVER 200 CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES

Worlds of Opportunity
Discovery naturally spills beyond the classroom walls. Our campus is alive with over 200 clubs and activities, ranging from competitive sports and the arts to community service. Through our BSB Futures programme, students begin to explore their potential from an early age, often supported by parents who share their real-world expertise. We value this partnership between home and school, inviting you to be an active participant in our community life.
Practical Support for Busy Lives
Modern professional life comes with significant logistical pressures, and we are here to help manage them. Our extensive school bus network covers a wide area, providing a reliable start and end to the school day for families across the region. We have also successfully expanded our “Home from Home” initiative, which now provides flexible wraparound care right here on campus. We provide structured supervision and engaging activities from 7.30am and after the school day. This service is designed to give working parents peace of mind, knowing their children are in a safe, familiar, and engaging environment beyond standard school hours.
Preparing You for What’s Next
In an international life, school is often a chapter rather than the whole story. We specialise in making that chapter count. Whether your child is with us for two years or ten, we ensure they gain the academic standing and personal confidence to step into any classroom in the world without missing a beat.

Expert Mobility at Every Stage
Because our campus brings together students from age 1 to 18, our staff are experts in the global flow of education. We understand how different international systems align, which allows us to manage your child’s entry and exit with precision. This unified, single-site expertise means that whether a student is moving from primary to secondary school, or moving across the globe to a new city, they are equipped with a consistent set of skills and a resilient mindset. Our role goes beyond teaching. We help children navigate an increasingly mobile world.
Qualifications that Travel with You
We offer a curriculum designed for total global portability. Our world-class qualifications are understood and respected by schools and universities in every corner of the globe, acting as a passport for your child’s future.
• Universal Recognition: Our fully accredited academic programmes are benchmarks of excellence, providing students with a competitive edge that transfers directly to their next school or country.
• Pathways for Every Learner: For our 16 - 18 year olds, we are unique in offering a choice between A Levels for depth, the IB Diploma for breadth, and BTEC for technical learning. This flexibility ensures your child stays on track for their specific home-country requirements or future goals.

We offer dedicated university guidance and career exploration that is tailored to the individual, helping students navigate the complexities of global higher education. Our graduates achieve consistently strong outcomes, moving on to top-tier universities and careers across the world.
