Eric Handa `97 travels the world for APTelecom, the company he started 12 years ago. Despite more than 100 nights away from his home base in Naples, FL, he makes the time to visit and support Bryant.

Since Eric’s first campaign pledge of $75,000, he has expanded his support to include naming a study room in the Quinlan Brown Academic Innovation Center as well as funding projects for the International Business Practicum. He is also a member of the College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council and will be the featured speaker at the International Business Senior dinner in May. His total philanthropic commitments through the capital campaign approach $200,000.

Seeing the Value of the Bryant Experience and Contributing to its Future H. Kent Goetjen ’77, CPA, has a somewhat unique perspective on his alma mater. Recently retired from PwC as an audit partner and U.S. engineering and construction leader, he recruited accounting graduates from various universities throughout his career. “I watched Bryant grow through its students,” he says. “The school’s curriculum, with its balance of liberal arts and business, ensures a more well-rounded student who has the technical and communication skills to contribute to an organization immediately.”

Goetjen also served on the accounting and business school advisory boards for Bryant and remains impressed with the school’s collaboration with local and national businesses and organizations to ensure that the University gives students what they need to succeed. “Bryant is more aware of what they need to provide in their education and consistently has partnered with the outside business community throughout its history to develop a curriculum that fulfills value for all parties.”

While his involvement with Bryant started with recruiting for his employers, Goetjen continued his relationship beyond that and encourages other alumni to do the same. “We can all give back in some way. Bryant’s vision for creating a good student is fulfilled through its academic programs, physical resources, and work with the community, and we can all see the value and play a part in its further achievements.”
