Trace and architecture, a project to chose a trace of interest then design methods to architectural space. I’m interested in incense smoke, a trace of faith in Chinese temple. Why incense smoke is trace of faith ? because the man often burn an incense for pray the Gods. When it burned, it released smoke and smoke become a connection between man and Gods. After observed, I found the floating smoke behavior. there are beginning smoke, condense smoke and fade smoke then I will drawing incense smoke story to related between smoke behavior and a trace of faith. My drawing is explain about the beginning smoke like a person faith then person faith become a group or people faith there are condense smoke. Finally all of the faith will sent to gods, who we all know but impersonal like fade smoke.

2D Drawing Became a 3D Model

The developing 2D drawing to 3D modeling start from choose drawing no. 2, which one is good explain between smoke behavior and a trace of faith then pull up the line on various levels to create the form. However the developing form on the horizontal plane from pull up various line is limits so change the new developing to vertical plane, used vertical layer plane to developing 3D modeling related floating smoke and try to create interest form by separate muti-vertical layer plane, interject form, tweak form. that result is various dimension form like movements of smoke. In finally I successful to find definition, design methods to transform an incense became 2D artwork, 3D modeling and architectural space which related between smoke behavior and incense smoke, a trace of faith in Chinese temple.
