Prom Revels To Cap Memorable Social Series For Senior Class By Myron Greenleaf Seniors will draw the curtain on the social events of their high school career with the long-awaited senior prom which will take place on the Tuesday night of June 1 on the cool, enchanting ,Jung Roof overlooking the city. The event will take place between the hours of eight and twelve with an expert band performing under the baton of the popular Russ Papalia. An attendance of over one hundred i couples and a small number of stags are expected for the gala affair. The Tulane Room of the Jung Hotel has been the site in the past, but it has been discovered that the Roof will easily accommodate the smaller class of thif' year. '~he seniors have been eagerly await;l"lg t}li- night for tP" pa;• four years and will no doubt place it among the happy memories of their high school days when they enter the business world or pursue higher education.

By Harold Albury As the final curtain is rung down on the graduates of '48, the Aloysian Staff finds itself minus the services of the senior journalists who strove so hard for the perfection of their school publication. The Aloysian will be missing all its editors. The following are graduating seniors: Editor in Chief Myron Greenleaf, who devoted much of his time and efforts to the improvement of the paper; "pencilpusher" deluxe, and Assistant Editor Charles Arnheim; Sports Editor Charles Neyrey, whose accurate descriptions brought games in print to those who hadn't the pleasure of seeing them; Business Editor Harold O'Donnell who brought much advertisement (Cont. on page eight)

The principal address will be delivered by the Most Reverend Leo F. Fahey, D. D., Coadjutor Bishop of Baker City, Oregon. Bishop Fahey, one of the outstanding native priests of the Southland, is a former student of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart at St. Stanislaus, having gradu' ated with the class of 1914. I

St. Aloysius J9-ys In Ordin~,tion Of Two Of Its Sons May 22 was a rare and proud day for St. Aloysius. On that Saturday this Catholic school, which is so proud of its record in furnishing priests and religious to Holy Church, beheld two of its former students receive the sacred unction that made them priests of God forever. The newly ordained are the Reverend Fathers John Tomasovich and Michael Landry. In the historic St. Louis Cathedral the Most Reverend Archbishop imposed hands upon and anointed these two aspirants, lifting them up to a sublime participation in the priesthood of Christ. Thus was crowned long years of preparation for this great ministry. Both of these privileged young men entered Aloysius in 1937: Two years later ,Johnny Tomasovich left these halls of Christian learning to enter the minor seminary at St. Benedict. ROSES The Staff receive with pleasure and thanks a recent note from Reverend Brother Albertinus, General of the Brothers, wherein he speaks his praise of The Aloysian and his delight in reading it. He adds his congratulations. More important he informs us that on a recent visit to Rome he obtained for us and our publication the Apostolic Blessing of His Holiness. Pope Pius XII. For these kindnesses we are very grateful to the Reverend Brother. We wish him speedy and complete recovery from his recent hospitalization.

Nicholas Olivier, alumnus of Saint Aloysius and now medical student at L. S. U., was signaled out for the George S. Bel meThis award is morial award. given by the L. S. U. school of medicine for the student who "symbolized the highest ideals of medicine." Nick graduated "from Saint Aloysius in 1942 and while here was an outstanding student and editor of the Aloysian. His premed work was done at Loyola and was then continued at L. S. U. gc1.thering new Alumni officers will be elected and the soon-to-be~graduated seniors will be formally inducted into this select organization. Refreshments and entertainment are on tap at the Crusader Gym. Charles Neyrey, sports editor of the Aloysian, will deliver the valedictory; and Rene Pastorek, popular confraternity orator, will welcome parents and friends in the capacity of salutatorian. Adding to the pleasure of the evening will be appropriate selections by the Crusader band under the expert direction of Professor Joseph Taverna. Award of a four-year university scholarship will be made to the remarkable senior with the highest average for his four years; and of the alumni medal to the senior with the highest average for his final year. In addition, a trophy will be presented to the best all round student-athlete. Other rewards for religion, scholarship, and perfect attendance will be among the suspenseful events to take place. Presentation of the scholarship will be eagerly awaited by the hopeful contestants because the averages are surprisingly close. A highly important feature of the graduation exercises will be the annual Mass celebrated at St. Augustine's Church for the seniors and their parents, at eight o'clock of the morning of graduation day, CONDOLENC ES It is with sincere regret
