Friday Night Bingo has started back up and we are very happy to see the old familiar faces back.

We are striving to bring the evening back to what it was before Covid hit us like a ton of bricks, but it is slowly coming back. As of now we are only offering limited services from the kitchen. We are having donuts, soda, candy, muffins and are also serving pizza. We would like to start serving what we served in the past, but that can't be done unless we can get some volunteers to help in the kitchen. Miss Ellie cannot do it alone. We are asking for help in the Volunteer department. It would only involve one Friday a month. Won't you consider joining us.

We wish all of you a happy March and a very Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Loosing excess weight is not an easy task. Instead of loosing weight, we like to “Get rid of it”. We all have bad days, but with the support of our fellow weight control group members, it does make it easier and we do need the support of each other.

Come join us on Monday mornings at 9:00 am in Room D of the Clubhouse. Everyone is welcome.

Helping Hands

We are a “Sewing for Charity” group and welcome everyone at our workshop every Thursday, 9:00 am -11:00 am in Room D at the clubhouse. If you prefer to do our projects at home, it is perfectly okay. We are still in need of Christmas fabric, children's flannel, 1” elastic, clean sheets and pillowcases for hospice gowns and bibs.

Finished items are furnished free to various organizations and anyone in Brookridge who has a need. Due to the cancellation of our Pancake Breakfast, donations are key to keeping our group going and we thank all who have donated. January 2022 Donations: 3 Hats (Co. Line Cancer); 3 Hats, 10 Lap Throws (New Hwy 50 Cancer); 35 Lap Throws, 24 Bibs (Noble Center); 19 Children bed pillows, 9 adult bed pillows, 4 large bags children's clothing, 4 boxes cereal, 4 quilted bed covers, 5 pr. new shoes, 25 pr. new socks, 2 pr. curtains, 4 complete twin bed sets, 1 twin comforter (TLC); 5 crocheted baby blankets, 2 baby hats (Airman's Attic-McDill); bag of toiletries (Youth Center); 39 lap robes, 5 wheelchair arm covers, 2 cath bags, 1 fidget apron (Forest Oaks Spring Hill Senior Living).

Having weak abdominal muscles can affect much more than how you look in the mirror. They are a common cause of lower back pain and poor posture. Your abdominals work in conjunction with your back muscles when bending, lifting, or straightening. Lack of strength in these areas means more pressure on your ligaments and spinal bones. Strengthening those muscles can help you be steadier on your feet and lessen your risk of falling.

Our class is for Brookridge residents and their houseguests (Sorry, no children). The cost is fifty cents per class and the first class is free! Class starts at 8:30 am and runs to 9:30 am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Classes start with low impact aerobics followed by stretch and tone; weights; and either mats or chairs. The class ends with a balance circle. Weights and mats are available if you don't have your own. Come have fun with us!

CRAFTY STITCHERS

We meet every Tuesday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in meeting room D. Come and join the fun and share your craft ideas with your neighbors. Bring your crafts to work on or show off. We are looking for new crafters to join our group. Lots of tables to spread out and work on a project or even bring your sewing machine. Great if you have limited space at home. Share with likeminded friends and no dues.
