Established in 1992 in Kitscoty, Alberta, O’Hare Ranching has proudly raised top-quality commercial Red Angus and Hereford cattle for over three decades. Our program has been built on functional, efficient cattle designed to work in real-world ranch conditions.

Three years ago, we expanded into the purebred Red Angus sector with a clear purpose: to grow a seedstock program centred around integrity, and the reliability of the fundamentals; low-maintenance females with exceptional feet, quality udders, and depth of rib. Our aim is to produce cattle that are easy-feeding, structurally sound, and profitable.

Our purebred herd is built on the animals that embody this goal, with feature sires like Dirty Dan and Mob Ties as our foundations, adding muscle, depth and balance. As well as cornerstone females, sourced from proven maternal lines, backed not only by our own in-depth research, but their success in our commercial management system. This marks our first official purebred Red Angus bull offering, and we are proud to present a group that reflects the standards we are building our program around — shaped by practical ranch expectations and guided by decades of commercial cattle experience.

Our bulls are developed responsibly. They are grown on a balanced ration designed to promote steady, natural growth rather than extreme gain.

We prioritize sound feet and legs, athleticism, depth of rib, and functional muscle. These are bulls designed to go to work, cover cows efficiently, and hold up over multiple breeding seasons. Our development approach allows them to maintain natural condition while maturing into durable, functional herd sires.

What started as a good find has turned into a cornerstone decision for our program. Today, 109J stands as one of the true foundation sires behind OHA Purebreds. A tremendous-framed bull with a great foot and base width, he combines extra length, huge rib shape, and natural depth of body. Weighing 2,490 lbs, he carries genuine mass without sacrificing mobility or structure.

Where he truly separates himself is in progeny consistency. His calves come with added hair — a trait that matters in our Canadian environment. They are rugged, easy-fleshing, and built with shape and dimension. His first set of heifers, calve this spring. 109J sons exhibit structural correctness, natural thickness, and durability.
