PROJECT BRIEF

The Southside is an intimate, 1920s-inspired cocktail lounge hidden in the heart of Logan, Utah. A modern homage to the Prohibitionera speakeasy, The Southside blends vintage glamour with contemporary sophistication, offering an elevated drinking experience steeped in history and intrigue. Since its inception, the lounge has embodied the spirit of refined rebellion, where handcrafted cocktails, live jazz, and a warm, clandestine ambiance transport guests to a bygone era.

The concept for The Southside is deeply rooted in Logan’s rich past, drawing from the city’s historic charm while channeling the allure of secret bars from the Roaring Twenties. The space is adorned with antique brass fixtures, plush velvet seating, and low-lit chandeliers, creating an atmosphere of opulence and mystery. Every detail invites guests to step into a world where time slows and indulgence reigns.

DESIGN CHALLENGE

Create a stylish and intimate cocktail lounge that prioritizes ambiance, efficiency, and guest experience. Design a functional layout that optimizes space for service while maintaining an inviting atmosphere. Incorporate elements that enhance the speakeasy theme while ensuring operational efficiency.

Step in to the Past, Savor the Present

The Southside Cocktail Lounge combines an immersive speakeasy experience with a functional, high-quality service environment. The design optimizes space, maintains aesthetic integrity, and ensures seamless operations for both staff and guests. By addressing storage, workflow, and customer comfort, the lounge will create an exceptional and memorable experience.
