Q 1 What do you remember fondly about your time at Brookhurst?
My first time arriving at Brookhurst was one of my best memories. I remember being nervous about entering a new environment, like all students who join high school for the first time. I entered the classroom and felt like running, everyone was looking at the “new girl”
The deputy principal called me into her office to talk and understand
how I felt about joining them, she gave me wonderful advice and motivation, giving me a feeling of self confidence. I will never forget the dedication and interest my teachers had for our wellbeing.
Q 2 Which values did Brookhurst impart on you that have an effect on you today?
One of the values Brookhurst impacted on me is the value of cooperation through group work.

Tellusaboutyourtransitiontouniversitylifein another country? What has been your experience?
My transition to university from high school was not as hard as I thought it would be Brookhurst was very diverse with students from all over the world such UK and USA therefore made it easier for me to adapt to the different cultures in EU business school and also communicate with the students.
What advise would you give a student hoping to studyabroad?
One advise I would like to give graduating student looking to study abroad is to do your research about what country you would like to study in, what language is spoken there, and prepare yourself for when you get there
Learning the language will not only help you move around the city but also help you understand the culture of the people for example what are their values. The language enables you to easily network with people in and out of campus.

I am currently looking forward to start my second year in EU Business School Barcelona to specializing in international business and management (Hons)

What do you remember fondly about your time at Brookhurst?
Personally, Brookhurst was a turnaround for me and what I can fondly remember is the commitment that each staff member had to the bettering of the students.
From my first day I joined Brookhurst, teachers were fully dedicated to ensure students had the right resources to help them academically
Not only did they care about their students’ successes but they also guaranteed that we learn basic employable skills to guide us in the future jobs market.
Brookhurst guaranteed that we learn basic employable skills to guide us in the future jobs market.
Q 2
Which values did Brookhurst impart on you that have an effect on you today?
I know that everyone has heard this thousands and thousands of times but truly hard work always pays off. There will always be mistakes and sometimes failures but with a positive and persistent mind you’ll never regret working hard.
Being nurtured in a culture of discipline while at Brookhurst also played a major role in me today. Always being on the wrong side with the school and breaking rules will only reap bad fruits.
Teachers and the principal had various disciplinary actions that I can attest that morally changed some of the students
ell us about your transition to niversity life in another ountry. What has been your experience?
I thought university life in Australia was going to be really tough and hard to adapt As soon as I got through my first week I realized that Brookhurst had prepared me for such a life
The diverse cultures at Brookhurst helped me relate with different international students from different backgrounds around the world. It was easy making friends and engaging with the community around me.

What do you remember fondly about your time at Brookhurst?
I fondly remember this one time we went for a Science Event hosted at Karura forest. The event organizers asked students to showcase some of their talents. I was visibly shy but my teachers profusely encouraged me to go ahead and show everyone what I could do.
This highlighted to me how the school helps nurture students' talents aside from the academics. I ended up as the first performer in that event. The kind of support I got from the rest of the students from our school as well as other schools in attendance was awesome. I will never forget that

Exploring different places
It wasn't different from Brookhurst because there were many students from different countries
One of the key values Brookhurst imparted on me is the value of perseverance. It crucially aided me in learning how to set and achieve, personal & academic, long-term goals. I also learnt that failure is okay because you have to dust yourself off, get back up and try again.
Never ever give up.
There is so much excitement to be had when transitioning! It’s a little scary, but that’s kind of what makes it great!
It wasn't different from Brookhurst because there were many students from different countries in the world, who had different cultures. I had the experience of what it's like to navigate the unknown Thanks to Brookhurst, forming new relationships in a foreign country was not difficult.
Message To Class Of 2021
Feeling motivated doesn't always make you feel like you've got superman's powers. Sometimes, motivation and determination is that quiet but clear voice that tells you tomorrow is another day to try and keep fighting.
What skills, hobbies or causes have you picked up since leaving Brookhurst?
One hobby I picked up at Brookhurst is baking. There was a time that was set aside on Thursdays, for Brookhurst students who were interested in learning how to make foods and desserts. I would always be in the baking section.
I happened to fall in love with that and up to date and I’m still improving some of my baking skills.
What advice would you give a Brookhurst graduate looking to study abroad?
Plan for studying abroad as early as possible Planning ahead is crucial because there are a lot of details you will need to take care of before leaving for the school of your choice. Do your research and seek advice & information about the school.
Be responsible. It is important to make the most of all the opportunities that come your way while studying. Always try not to get into any situations that might get you in trouble or in harm's way because as an international student at any time you're at risk of deportation and cancellation of your documents.
