The last couple of years, we have done our Lottery Sale at the end of July and it has been a blast to host our customers and see how the pigs have fed throughout the year. That event will be held on the weekend of July 27th this year, and for the first time, we will offer a few gilts for sale as well.
Before we start selling or leasing any gilts this fall, this will be an opportunity for the buyer to have the pick of our May born gilts, who will be littermates to all males offered in our lottery. We are extremely excited about the set of sows that will farrow this summer, and certainly some of those highlights are due in May.
Please reach out prior to this sale if you have any further questions about the specifics of this offering.

Litter Sired by Friction at Upperhand
Due Early June (Must take pick by July 20)
You may have missed this one last summer, but we’re pretty sure you won’t want to miss getting your hands on one of the females from her first litter. ‘Claire’ was the Champion Chester Gilt at The Exposition last summer, but unfortunately had her show career cut short due to an injury. She is a full sib to the Champion Chester Gilt Bryleigh drove at San Antonio in ’23 and the Champion Chester Gilt that Owen Seidenberger drove at Kerrville in ’23. Her mother is ‘Mabes,’ the Nalaney Guyer gilt that was Champion at all three national major shows the summer of ’21 and got a piece of the top 5, as well. Here is a first litter gilt set for big things. Get in on her story early.
Pick of the gilts from Bryleigh’s Reserve Heavy Division Cross Gilt at San Antonio ‘24

Litter Sired by Left Behind at Crossroads
Due late June (Must take pick by August 15)
‘Charlene’ was a late-night, online sale purchase last fall from Heimer Hampshires. I purchased her solely because of her genetics, but she was too unique to leave in the barn. Her mother sold as Lot 1 in the Built the Brand Sale last spring after she won numerous accolades across the Midwest in her first couple litters. Half-sisters to Charlene sold for $32K and $22.5K shortly after Charlene won at San Antonio. Here’s your chance to pick a female out of one of the most unique show gilts this winter, bred to one of the most intriguing boars I found on my Midwest tour that came from a very high rent litter bred by Fontenot! Next Intention X Kingpin Bred to Buckle Up
Due June 20
MIDDLE WEIGHT BARROW AT FORT WORTH
One of, if not my favorite sow on the place. She’s bred back to Buckle Up for full sibs to the popular 18 litter from last fall. That litter consisted of Selah Salmons’ Reserve Middle Weight Crossbred at Fort Worth, Roxton Stone’s barrow that won a class at Houston, and three otherbarrows that were Top 3 in there classes at San Antonio and Houston.
Pick of the gilts out of the 1st through 20th litters born this summer
• Lots of winning and proven genetics behind these sows and gilts farrowing in this group.
• Litters farrow date range from June 5th to June 20th
• Breeds include: Chester, Berk, Hybrid Berks, Spots, Southwest York Appearing, Hamp Classifying and Crosses
Gilt must be selected by July 27, 2024 and picked up the day selected or make arrangements with Russell Kneese about later date pickup or delivery options.

RISING SUN X 26-10 X 25-10 X 35-12
**26-10 - Littermate to Grand at Austin in ‘23 **25-10 - Champion Light Cross at TX Elite ‘22
As some may know, Josh kept a pretty tight leash on the Rooster semen he let leave the farm this year, so take advantage of this opportunity...we expect him to not let much go in the upcoming months either.
With his mother being a Littermate to the Grand at Austin, his grandmother being the Champ Light Gilt, Backwoods‘ mom and Princess Mia‘s aunt, PLUS having Rising Sun on the top side, Rooster‘s pedigree is stacked with all the “good stuff.” We believe in this guy about as much as we‘ve ever believed in one. Rooster was used on every type and kind of sow that we have at the farm and to say we are excited about these upcoming litters would be an understatement.
• We will farrow 15-20 June litters sired by Baby Daddy, Cash Money, and Daddy’s Secret!
• These litters will include mates to the Reserve Crossbred barrow at Fort Worth.
This proven genetic line paired with elite matings has us excited for what is to come. The winning bidder takes their pick of the gilts from either Option 1 or Option 2.
Honored to be involved in such a prestigious event with so many of our industry friends! When we got the invite, we knew it had to be something special. However, getting Matt convinced to offer pick of the gilts from this pair was definitely not an easy task. There has yet to be a solid white female sold from our place.
Service Sire: Surround Sound (PBG)
This sow is just getting started, with her first litter being that of the Res. York Barrow and the next litter she had this spring from (LTBB) bringing $20k and one of those selling as a boar prospect to Todd Showpigs of Oklahoma. This mating to the Goss Boar that stood at Lairds for a short time before getting hurt, has us as excited as any.
Service Sire: Let The Beat Build “LTBB” (Weishuhn Brothers)
White gilt is the only female kept in the litter and her brother winning was just icing on the cake. Blood lines speaks volumes here. The LTBB boar has been awesome for us and others that have used him! We have LTBB daughters in production and plan to build around them as much as we can! He makes them wild looking and far reaching, so this could be a home run mating!
It’s an absolute honor to be in this years edition of The Certified Texas Bred Genetic Offering. We don’t take our consignment lightly so we decided to offer pick of the farm in the Summer 2024 crop. Sows include the ones that helped us have a tremendous year last year along with several of their daughters that will have summer litters for the first time! Also included is a mate to the Reserve Dark Cross at Dallas last year as well as 2 mates to Rylands San Antonio barrow and county barrow along with a 6 litter gilt whose mates won three classes at Texas majors this spring. Rylands Reserve Division at Ft. Worth, her class winner at Kerville and Kendal Shackelford’s class winning hamp in Austin.
If a male pig is chosen and is left intact we reserve the right to semen for the life of the boar.

With the amount of success of the very few gilts we had out last year we feel it’s a great time to expand our gilt customer base and allow them to compete at major gilt shows across the state. Generally, we have somewhere around twenty litters, but this year we ramped up production and bred over forty. The opportunity to get in on some young sows we are going to build around or to go the proven route has never been better at our place.
Highlights of last year’s gilts are:
• Henslie Hohertz’s Chester gilt- 12 breed or reserve breed banners including Champion Chester gilt at Texas National, 4 banners at The Show (San Angelo), and reserve breed at San Antonio
• Karter Bowen’s Cross Gilt- 7 time breed or reserve with a couple reserve grand champions in the mix, she was also the Reserve breed dark cross gilt at Texas Elite.
• Hastin Hunter’s Chester gilt- Racked up a slew of wins through out the jackpot season and eventually wound-up 5th overall Chester Gilt at San Antonio.
• Kaylee Hart’s Gross gilt- Multiple time grand or reserve grand champion at jackpots and the Grand Champion Gilt at Jack County, Kaylee was a first-time customer and her gilt wound up in the Crossbred gilt sale in San Antonio.
Other notable litters include:
• 4- Littermate Gilts to the class winning Hampshire, and Champion Lightweight Division other cross that Emry Humphreys and Brinley Magby exhibited in San Antonio.
• 3- Littermate Gilts to TAKE 3 currently standing at Foote Farms
• The mothers to all these listed are still all currently in their working clothes and bred this go around as well.
• Sires include: 99 Problems, Show Pony, TAKE 3, White Lies, Problem Child, Tr2cked out, Picture this, Making Waves, Top it off, Ready Made, Fresh Air, Happy Hour, WTX Calico, Landslide
