We are looking forward to seeing the people behind the amazing films that we are screening for this year’s BronzeLens Film Festival. You are clearly talented storytellers with work worthy of sharing. You also are reflecting the complexity and reality of our lives with unbounded imagination.
This year there were several themes that emerged. I was fascinated to see how the future was depicted with a multi-cultural lens. Sometimes reality morphs into horror. As the news covers attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion our filmmakers were on the case examining micro-aggressions in the workplace. Those films were relatable and even hilarious.
We will see the world-wide phenomena of Black boys literally fighting to grow up whether in Haiti, Australia, the UK, or the US. These films are ringing an alarm.
Looking for love and all that comes with it is captured in some of the films that we will see. Hip Hop has woven itself into stories in a very creative way. It has certainly made an impact on Atlanta. Definitely the South has something to say.
Those are just a few of the themes. There is so much more.
And of course, our panels, curated by Melissa Randle, are intended to provide tangible information that will be of value to you.
Our fantastic team has worked tirelessly to prepare a wonderful experience for our filmmakers and attendees. The bottom line is that we want you all to feel Inspired, Enlightened, and Empowered.
As I love to say - Welcome to the BronzeLens Family!

SHORT DOCUMENTARY | 22:55
From pulling clutches to pushing pedals, “Poppin’ wheelies” through the concrete jungle is an authentic, unapologetic form of self-expression. It’s art. Culture. Freedom. Escape. Bike life. But in the news and in certain neighborhoods, it’s criminalized. “Young Kings” uncovers their deeper truths: Their heart and soul. Their passion. Their struggle. Their respect. Their honor. Their legacy.

THE TABLE
WEB SERIES | 25:00
Inspired by famed photographer Carrie Mae Weems “Kitchen Table Series,” “The Table” follows the relationship of Ed and London over seven years, primarily at their dining room table. Ed, raised in Newark, is an up-and-coming Wall Street trader who hustled his way from the mailroom to the trading floor. London, the product of a black yogi and white physician from Sedona, Arizona, has an alternative view of the world. The two could not be more different but embark on a shared journey of life and love.

TOKENS SEASON 2
WEB SERIES | 7:30
Set in the world of actors cast by productions desperate to hit their diversity quotas, Season 2 of TOKENS pivots from the comedic overuse of On Call Casting, the democratic Uberization of diverse representation in Season 1, to a comedy about the hunger-gaming of casting and the need to stay ahead of the trend. Sammie Pang, in her quest to find a meaningful role, quits On Call Casting and lands a Hollywood Agent and, seemingly, the role of a lifetime. She soon realizes being on top isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. Season 2 moves the idea of inclusion in front of the camera to the need for authenticity behind the camera.

Our panelists are industry veterans in both music & film and have been involved with some of the most iconic musical contributions to come out of the city in the past 30 years. JAMES WALKER, JR. WALKER & ASSOC.
Greetings, all!
I can’t even begin to tell you of the joy I have knowing that we have reached our 14th year of presenting the finest of indie filmmaking from content creators of color!
As a small non-profit organization, we have survived and thrived on love and passion, and on your backing for the work that we do. We don’t do what we do in a vacuum, and totally depend on a wide network of support. This message is about being thankful and blessed.
First, you should know that the BronzeLens team is outstanding, and it’s because of them that the BronzeLens experience is talked about nationwide. They personify excellence and I’m grateful for their contributions in building our brand. My personal thanks to Deidre, Nnena, Terri, Rhea, Chioma, Stephanie, Melissa, Verona, Jahannes, and Kim! Shout out to our supporting vendors since the beginning - AEE Productions and D. Jones Productions, Vause Computer Systems, and our webmaster Digigor, Inc!
I’m so excited about our Board of Directors, our newest members, the work they have done to ensure this year’s success, and the work that they will do as we get ready to celebrate our 15th year milestone.
BronzeLens has been blessed with 14 years of generous partners, collaborators, and sponsors who have believed in our vision and undergirded the work we do with their time and their contributions. We are grateful.
And where would we be without you, our filmmaking family! We appreciate you, we honor your creativity, and we’re glad that you chose to be a part of the BronzeLens family.
As we move into the 15th year, we will start our celebration early - with workshops and screenings and special events, like the return of the Women SuperStars Honors in early 2024.
If you haven’t already, I’m asking that you join our network of supporters. Please consider making a donation of any size to help ensure that we’re around for year 15 and beyond! See our QR code.
