Safety Signage Guidelines Australian Standard AS1319:1994 provides strict guidelines for layout, colour and size of safety signage. All Bronson Safety stock signs comply to AS1319:1994. In addition, our designers can create custom worded signs that will comply with the standard as well.
Sign Categories and Australian Standard Requirements PROHIBITION SIGNS
NO PEDESTRIAN ACCESS
Red annulus and slash in red over the action symbol which is black. Sign wording in black. Used to specify actions that are not permitted.
CAUTION SIGNS
OPEN DOOR WITH CARE
Hazard symbol should be black on yellow background and triangle should enclose symbol. Sign wording in black lettering. Used as a warning when potential hazard is non-life threatening.
DANGER SIGNS
KEEP OUT Used as a warning when a potential
hazard is life threatening. The word “Danger” should be featured inside red oval, located inside a black rectangle. Sign wording in black.
MANDATORY SIGNS
White symbol/image on circular blue or black ground. Sign wording in black lettering. Used to specify that a requirement or instruction is to be followed.
EXIT SIGNS
FIRE SIGNS
Notify the location of firefighting equipment and fire alarms. Feature white symbol and/or text on a red background.
