Welcome to Canada! You are one of more than 2,500 international students studying at Brock from 100 countries around the world. As you settle into your new home away from home, please know that our staff at Brock International are here to support you.

The Brock International Pathway to Success is a guide to help international students prepare for their first term at Brock University and in Canada. It covers important tasks in four categories: After Acceptance, Pre-Semester Prep, First Week, and At Brock.

Brock International offers various services and support to our Brock community. Our services are offered by appointment, email, in-person, or virtual drop-in sessions.

• Immigration advising and settlement support (e.g., study and work permits, immigration policy, and pathways to settlement).

• Pre-arrival and transition to Canada (e.g., prearrival checklists, preparing for travel, and academic resources).

• Student engagement and wellness (e.g., social and cultural events, getting involved, and community resources) .

Visit the International Centre to learn more about the programs and services designed to help you adjust as you begin to study, live, and work in Canada. Our Global Commons space is also a great place to relax, study, and meet new friends!

University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP)

The University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) is mandatory for international students and is modelled after the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) provided by the Ontario government. UHIP offers affordable insurance to cover the cost of primary hospital and medical services. The Brock University Students Union (BUSU) offers international students taking credit courses a comprehensive health, vision, and dental plan through Student VIP.

Meet our International Student Ambassadors

The International Student Ambassador Award program recognizes international students who exemplify the University’s mission and vision through academic achievement and community engagement efforts both on and off campus.

International Student Ambassadors play a vital role in meeting students from around the world, highlighting what life is like at Brock - both inside and outside of the classroom. While on campus, Ambassadors raise awareness about events and opportunities offered by Brock International.
