At Brockton School we believe that students should be developing many important life skills, and in particular independence, responsibility, time-management, and organization. To foster these skills, with parent approval, students in Grade 8-12 are permitted to leave the school campus for a variety of reasons. These reasons are listed below: For Grade 8 - 12 Students: ● Midday scenario: With parental permission, students in grade 8-12 may leave campus for lunch. The student must sign out and in upon departure and arrival. ● Early Dismissal Days: With parent permission, students in grade 8-12 may leave campus at the end of instructional time.* * Note: Students who wish to remain on campus OR students who have been requested (e.g., by teacher/school) to remain on campus OR students who are not permitted to leave campus (e.g., parents want their child to remain on campus) on early dismissal days may engage in quiet study or extra curricular activities. For Grade 11 or 12 Students with Spare Blocks (not supervised support blocks): ● Start of day scenario: If a student has a spare first block of the day and that student has no required commitments at school, the student may arrive at the first scheduled class of the day. The student must sign in upon arrival.
