Commercial Corner

As we are about to enter the last few weeks of an already memorable season I wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate Mark, James, our coaches and players for a superb victory in the Aberdeenshire Shield Final for a record tenth time – a performance fuelled with desire, determination and superb execution of a winning game plan.

To see the joy on everyone’s faces at the final whistle, and with the Shield, was absolutely brilliant. The hunger to win silverware is there for all us fans to see and this is absolutely mirrored by myself and the rest of the Directors as we strive to have a sustainable operational model that is in place to deliver all our ambitions.

As I highlighted in last month’s Bulletin, it’s important that we have an open and transparent relationship with our fan base and the business community that support us, whilst retaining confidentially in the right areas. It has been our intention since the Rangers game to hold an open event to provide an update on our Club, with an opportunity for a Q&A too – this supporter engagement event will be held in our Hospitality Lounge at Bellslea Park on Monday 28th April (6:00pm – 7:00pm) and is open to all our fans. We will be posting awareness on our social media channels.

As I have mentioned repeatedly in this column, our role as Directors is to ensure our Club has a sustainable business model and is run as a business, to generate the income needed to exceed the ongoing operational costs of our Club with our priority continuing to be youth development, having a competitive First Team, and at the same time, ensuring we are making provision for the non-playing side to include Bellslea Park maintenance and capital improvements. We are absolutely focussed on increasing income through organising Events and providing Sponsorship opportunities to individuals and businesses and we need our fans, local and regional businesses to support us, to deliver our business model aspirations.

So, some specific updates since last month…………..

CLUB 1910:

Our next event will be held in our Hospitality Lounge, in conjunction with “Enterprising Aberdeenshire” (EA) and “Broch Business Together”(BBT), on Tuesday 29th April between Noon and 2:00pm. David McCubbin, Fraserburgh’s Town Centres Executive for Aberdeenshire will provide an overview on Fraserburgh’s future place in this plan. As well as an opportunity to network with fellow business owners, we’ll also hear how working with EA and BBT can help all local businesses in the Broch and surrounding areas. Details will be posted on our Social Media platforms in the next few days.

EVENTS:

Here are our next four scheduled events which we hope will allow all our fans and business supporters the opportunity to be involved and support our Club as we journey together.

Friday 25th April: Annual Hall of Fame and End of Season Awards Dinner at the Fraserburgh Leisure Centre. This is not a fundraising event but an opportunity for us all to celebrate with, and show our appreciation to our Management, Coaches and players for what has been a season to remember. Tickets are still available - please contact us on events@fraserburghfc. co.uk to reserve your place.

Saturday 14th June: Dinner Dance at the Chester Hotel, Aberdeen. This is our main “fundraiser” in our commercial calendar and I’m delighted to share that our guest speaker is Chris Kamara MBE who will be making his first speaking engagement in the Northeast / Aberdeen. We are really hoping this event will be a “sell out”. Please contact myself on George.thom@fraserburghfc.co.uk to reserve your place.

Saturday 21st June: Heid Oot, Sponsored Charity Walk in Fraserburgh –funds raised will go to our Club and local causes helping those whose lives are impacted by dementia. Friday 1st August: Annual Golf Day Fraserburgh Golf Club. More details to follow – in the meantime please “save the date”.

SPONSORSHIP continues to be a key source of annual income generation for our Club and we would love to hear from any business or individual who is led to support us on our journey. We have a number of new opportunities for 2025/26, in what is our 115th Anniversary year.

OFFICIAL PARTNERS are businesses who provide business services to the Club for free or at a discount. This extends to businesses who pay the Club an annual fee to sell FFC branded products as an extension to an existing range.

We would welcome a discussion with any business who would like to become an Official Partner with a service not currently provided by our existing Partners https://www. thebroch.online/partners
