It is with great excitement and immense pride that I present this chairman's report ahead of our fourth-round Scottish Cup tie against Rangers FC at Ibrox Stadium.
This fixture represents not only a significant milestone for our club but also an opportunity to showcase the spirit and talent that defines Fraserburgh FC.
Our journey to this stage of the competition has been nothing short of inspiring. As a Highland League club, we take immense pride in representing our community on one of Scottish football's grandest stages. Facing Rangers, a club with an illustrious history and a global following, is a privilege that underscores the magic of the Scottish Cup.
Looking back, this is not our first encounter with Rangers in this tournament. In January 2018, we welcomed them to Bellslea Park, where the match ended in a 3-0 defeat. However, that occasion highlighted our resilience and determination— qualities we carry into this year’s tie.
I want to take a moment to recognise the dedication of our players, many of whom balance football
with work and family commitments. For many, this match at Ibrox represents a dream come true. Playing in front of a large crowd in such a historic venue is a reward for their hard work and perseverance. Our manager, Mark Cowie, has been instrumental in preparing the team for this challenge, and I have every confidence in his ability to inspire a spirited performance.
To our fans, thank you for your unwavering support. Whether you are travelling to Glasgow or cheering from home, your presence is felt and appreciated.
A game of this magnitude has a profound impact on our club. It not only brings financial benefits that will help secure the club’s future but also inspires the next generation of players and fans by showing what
can be achieved through hard work and determination. This is a moment to cherish and build upon, reinforcing our presence on the national stage and highlighting the value of community-driven football.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our players, coaching staff, volunteers, and sponsors for their dedication and hard work in preparing for this challenge. Together, we will embrace this occasion with pride and determination, embodying the spirit of Fraserburgh FC.
Let us all look forward to what promises to be a memorable chapter in our club’s history. Regardless of the result, this match is a testament to how far we have come, and with your continued support, the best days for Fraserburgh FC are still ahead.
Regardless of the result, this will have been some achievement just to get to this stage so lets make sure we as a club make the most of it.
December was a frustrating month in a few different ways. We still have to play our Aberdeenshire Shield tie at Keith and our League Cup tie at Buckie after both were postponed due to the cold weather we have had.
Also, we only managed three games in the month, two of which we drew and the other we scored late to take the three points. Still undefeated in quite a number of games but once again draws have seen us lose ground on the teams at the top.
The month started in a buoyant form, with the news that we had drawn Rangers FC away in the Scottish Cup at the forefront of everyone’s thoughts. I knew I would be in for a tough month where a lot of things would have to be organised during it but at the same time I had to try and push this game to the side so that all our focus was on the next game.
First up was Buckie Thistle at home. These games have always been close affairs, and this one was not any different. Both clubs not where they wanted to be in terms of league position with neither team wanting another loss to add to their collection. The game started like two teams struggling a bit. We managed to probably have the better of the first half and got the
breakthrough with a fine Scott Barbour finish. However, from their kick off, I don’t think we touched the ball again until it was our turn to kick off. They took centre, made a few passes, and then their captain was through on goal and put it past Joe in goals. They do say you’re at your most vulnerable after you score but I thought we would have held the lead a bit longer than 6 seconds. The rest of the game didn’t live up to the billing with us not doing enough to create anything and Buckie defending well which meant the game finished 1-1.
Up next was a trip to Glebe Park to play top of the table Brechin City. We have had a few good days down here, probably more than most other clubs, so it was one we were looking forward to. We were solid and didn’t give much away but neither did they. It was a tight game with both defences on top. Then we didn’t deal with a corner and allowed a player a free header which beat Joe to put them one up. We then had to be a bit more adventurous, which we were but this left gaps at the back and in truth Brechin should have made it 2-0 but their forward missed. I felt momentum swung here and in the later stages we had a ball in to the box which fell at Kieran Simpson’s feet, and he smashed it past their goalkeeper to make it 11. Nothing much
happened at the end and again we came away with a draw albeit this one we were probably happy with.
Last game of the month and the year was Clach at home. Our opponents were sat up in the top four and doing well so we knew we were in for a game. We took control and were dominant in the first half where we scored one but should have had three or four more. At half time I wondered if our wasted chances were going to come back and haunt us. We started well in the second half and finally managed to get our second goal through Paul Young. At this point I thought we were and would be fine but a mad ten minutes where we lost grip of the game ensued and before we knew it, it was 2-2. At this stage we tried to steady the ship, and the momentum was with them. It looked like it would end a draw again however good play on the left by Fig followed by a great cross saw Jamie Beagrie pop up with what was to be the winning goal and get us our first win of the month.
All in all an okay month in terms of results but frustrating in terms of dropped points and game postponements.
However, a great January was ahead. Two more postponements in early January have led us to the big game. We are now in full Rangers FC
mode and ready to take on the challenge that is Glasgow Rangers.
I will be telling the players to be fully focussed on the game and to try and not let emotions take over. At the end of the day we still have a job to do and that is to compete in a competitive game against one of the best sides in the country.
However for all the fans, volunteers, families, committees, directors I would ask that you enjoy this weekend and savour every moment. You are all first and foremost Fraserburgh FC fans and I am sure it fills you with immense pride to see your club and possibly family members play up against Rangers. These occasions do not happen every day so I encourage you to enjoy it.
Regardless of the result, this will have been some achievement just to get to this stage so lets make sure we as a club make the most of it. Sing your hearts out, fill social media with black and white and show the players the full support that I know you can that may push us on to something only dreams are made of. When you believe and push yourself to the limits, you can make anything happen.
Enjoy the match whether its in the stand or on TV, because your support for us deserves this.

Prior to our visit to Ibrox, we asked you all if you could Paint the Town Back and White - and didn’t you just!
It was fantastic to see so many shops, businesses, and homes decked out in the Broch’s colours.

Happy New Year folks!
There is obviously a bit of a buzz within the dressing room as we prepare to play one of the best teams in Scotland in Rangers.
It’s been a bit of ‘The elephant in the room’ following the draw last year during the preparation of every game, until last week’s cancellation of Rothes at Home, as we tried to focus on only the next game and not the mammoth task which now awaits us.
But now all roads lead to Ibrox!
some of the squad getting media attention over the last few weeks with their thoughts on the game.
The coaching team have made sure that the match cancellations do not hinder our fitness and have been putting us through our paces whenever possible whether it be on the Broch beach, Mintlaw Academy Gym hall, St Combs Hall or the Astro when the snow and frost cleared. The team also trained during the festivities to try and maintain fitness.
One of the big things for me that I look forward to this weekend is having the young Broch fans see us off on Saturday morning.
The players greatly appreciate the efforts made by the Town’s shops, businesses, and homes in painting the Broch Black and White. But we’re also thankful, not just for this game, but over the years for the media efforts of Nicky Cordiner, Barry Walker and Fat Man Skinny Camera. These guys promote us and the club and we are fortunate to have such talented individuals doing this on the social media channels.
On the media front, it’s been good to see
So, we make the journey down to Glasgow on Saturday as ready as we will ever be with a rare overnight pre-match stay. I am personally looking forward to a full nights sleep provided I get to share with one of my more sensible team mates!
Maybe because I have kids of my own, but one of the big things for me that I look forward to this weekend is having the young Broch fans see us off on Saturday morning and, hopefully at the end of the game on Sunday,
seeing them having a great time.
It’s great to see the Broch support come out in force and I believe we have nearly sold out our allocation of tickets as well as taking a decent sum of Hospitality tickets. Well done Fans!
In other news a big congratulations to Flynn McKay on making the Scotland Schoolboy Squad for the second time which I believe has never been achieved by a Fraserburgh Academy pupil. Its not a big surprise to the players as Flynn has shown a talent and a potential to not only excel at Fraserburgh FC but, if he chooses, a higher level than Highland League.
Rossco made his 100th appearance since our last edition and a big congratulations to Ross on his milestone. It’s also been pleasing to see Lewis Davidson return to training who has been plagued by injuries over the last couple of years. Hopefully he has now got the back of those and can get back into the fold.
We have managed to maintain our unbeaten run in December with draws against Buckie and Brechin and a win against Clach. There have been some good bits in those games and bad. But my highlights would be Keezo with the equaliser against Brechin which I think was deserved and Beagrie’s winner against Clach after a great cross from Fig.
Fraser Mackie joins us from Aberdeen on loan and it has been frustrating to not get to see Fraser in action much as yet. I am sure we will see Fraser during the second half of the season and he’ll provide a big
contribution to the outstanding league and cup competitions.
Post the game on Sunday, we are straight back into Training on the Monday to prepare for another massive game in Keith away in the Aberdeenshire Shield. We want to get our hands on a trophy and this or the Highland Cup is our best chance.
With Brora immediately after then Buckie, the big games continue but that’s what we as a group look forward to.
Thanks again to all of your support
Willie

I hope everyone has had a great Christmas and I wish you all good health and happiness in the year that lies ahead.
Well, after weeks of anticipation, the day has almost arrived –our trip to Ibrox to face Rangers in the 4th Round of the Scottish Gas, Men’s Scottish Cup. Like all fans I’m so looking forward to the occasion and absolutely delighted for Mark, all our coaching & medical team and 1st team squad that they will have the opportunity to experience being in the Ibrox dug-out and playing in such a Stadium, and in front
of a large TV audience.
As a supporter and also in my role as Vice Chairman, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mark, all our coaching & medical team and 1st team squad for giving us this wonderful occasion to look forward to – history tells us these experiences don’t happen very often and it’s down to great game management and execution of this plan by the players that we find ourselves in this situation.
Commercially we have had the chance to put the Broch on the map and I’d also
like to take the opportunity to thank our local businesses for “Painting the town Black and White” in the weeks leading up to this game.
Anyway, whatever happens on the pitch, we’ll take stock after the game to ensure we are sensible and prudent in our financial management. Operationally, nothing changes as we strive season on season to generate the income needed to exceed the ongoing operational costs of our Club, with our priority continuing to be youth development, the team on the pitch, and at the same time,
ensuring we are making provision for the non-playing side to include Bellslea Park maintenance and capital improvements.

The first Bellslea Bulletin of 2025 which Steve does a fantastic job to publish.
Since the last edition we have seen the U21s close out 2024 with an impressive 6-1 victory over a tough Formartine side at Pitmedden. Two games remain in the U21 league campaign against Stonehaven and Keith with both dates to be confirmed.
After the Bellslea pitch struggling with the weather conditions we agreed that the U18s would switch to Christie Park for our match with Huntly on Thursday 19th December. As you always expect at Huntly, it was a really tough game. The squad showed great commitment on the night, particularly as many had a school match on the same day. But, testament to their character, they were able to play and help the team get a win on the road.
The U18s group had a festive day out on 27th December with a training session at Strikers in Aberdeen
followed by a visit to KFC and Grand Prix Karting in Bridge of Don. All had good fun, with Fergus Ross claiming first place and being joined on the podium by Hamish Gordon and Owen Pearson.
We ended the year with a visit to Spain Park on 30th December. It’s fair to say that as a group we didn’t perform to the levels we expect and Banks o’ Dee won 2-0. Credit to Fergus Ross who played the last half hour in goal following
a nasty injury to Liam Gordon.
During recent weeks the weather has clearly impacted our plans. Credit to the team and the club as we have shown resilience in being able to train in local gym halls, run the streets, and take advantage of the views, terrain and gradient with a few sessions on Tiger Hill. Amid the natural hindrance which adverse weather causes, it has brought an opportunity to come together in different surroundings and adapt to changes
which i think will stand the team well in future.
We eventually did get a game on Monday 13th January when we travelled to Banff to face Deveronvale. It was great to see Liam Gordon had recovered from his injury to return in goal, and also save a penalty to help the team take all three points in a tough match.
We were very appreciative of Jamie Beagrie, who is of course a long-serving first team player, for taking time out his day to arrive at training early and speak to the youth team before the session on the subject matter of careers, difficult decisions, and balancing work with part-time football. The team got first hand insight into Jamie’s journey in both work and football, and how he has had to make many decisions, sacrifices and overcome many challenges throughout. It was a refreshing and humble message at a good time for our group as they are gearing up for exams
and in some cases coming to the tail end of their journey through secondary school. I have no doubt that the team took much from what was a great message from one of the most decorated and well-respected players in the Highland League.
We received great news when young prospect Flynn McKay was selected for the Scottish Schools national team for the second successive year. The club were delighted to have a number of our players within the trials for this squad and we are very proud of Flynn for his well-deserved achievement.
The Youth team have been very fortunate to get complimentary tickets and bus travel to ibrox on Sunday to be part of this special occasion together as a club. This is a touch of class from the Board of Directors. It’s a great example of the support the club provides and which gives our longestablished youth set up the platform to support, enthuse, and
develop local young players as we endeavor to produce for the First Team in future years.
Looking forward to the month ahead, we have a busy spell with games every Monday for U18s. A trip to Lawsondale to face Westdyke on Monday 20th will be a big test of character for the group, before a home fixture against a strong Hall Russell side on the 27th to complete January.
So a special occasion this Sunday for all the club. N136 in Govan Rear was my old seat before i realised it was easier to travel 4 miles rather than 4 hours to follow your team. My only anxiety with regards to the gamewith the January window open i just hope Rangers don’t offer contracts to Fig or PY at full-time - we have another tough game on Wednesday up at Keith.
Take care - Matthew
We were delighted to welcome both the Men’s and the Women’s Scottish Cup trophies to Bellslea ahead of our Round 4 tie in the competition. Around 130 fans attended the event which was organised by the Scottish Football Association and compered by Craig
Telfer or BBC’s View from the Terrace programme.
Our guests took part in a Q&A with Broch legends Billy Gordon and Russell McBride, and also had the chance to get their photo taken with the trophies alongside captain Willie West and manager Mark Cowie.

A recent addition to the Bellslea ranks is striker Fraser Mackie who has joined on loan from Aberdeen until the end of the season.
The 17 year old, who was born in Fraserburgh, was part of the Aberdeen side that won the Club Academy Scotland U18 League last season and he scored in the young Dons UEFA Youth League match against Hungarian outfit Puskás Akadémia at Pittodrie.
Broch boss Mark Cowie told the P&J: “Fraser is someone we’ve been keeping our eye on. We’d
hoped to get him sooner, but with Aberdeen involved in the UEFA Youth League it didn’t happen.
“Thankfully Aberdeen contacted us again to say this might be an option and they’ve been first-class with how they’ve progressed this.
“We’re delighted to bring Fraser in and we’re looking forward to working with him.”
Fraser is of course no stranger to the Broch, joining Aberdeen in Summer ‘23 from Fraserburgh Academy along with goalkeeper Rodrigo Vitos who recently joined Keith FC on an emergency loan.
Having made his debut as a sub in our recent match with Clach, we look forward to seeing Fraser progress with us in the remainder of the ‘24/25 season.
Some sixty-six years ago came arguably the biggest shock that Scottish football has ever seen.
The Broch had been drawn against Dundee who were at that time sitting third in the top division.
Twelve months earlier, the Scottish Cup had dealt the Broch a trip to Hampden for a match with Queens Park. Sadly we were trounced 7-2.
So there could be little doubt - this would be a breeze for high-flying Dundee.
Bellslea Park would, however, bear witness to one of the most remarkable results seen by Scottish football.
The Broch were of course made up of part-time players whereas Dundee could rely on international goalkeeper Billy Brown, who had recently played at the 1958 World Cup, and wing-half Doug Cowie. Alex Hamilton, Jimmy Gabriel and Hugh Robertson would soon join them in collecting caps for the nation.
Broch keeper Danny Mowatt was in fine form during the first half, pulling off numerous saves to keep the scores on level terms.
Then, moments before the interval, came the moment that stunned the visitors. George Brander swung a corner into the Dundee box and found the head of Johnny Strachan who nodded the Broch into the lead.
As could have been expected, Dundee came out all guns blazing in the second half as they attempted to turn the tie around. But Mowatt was in inspired form, denying Curlett, Sneddon and Bonthrone on several occasions.
The entire Broch side fought resolutely to protect their lead, repelling all efforts from their more illustrious opponents.
When the final whistle blew the magnitude of the victory began to set in.The Broch had done it, and
had became the first Highland League side to eliminate a top tier side from the Scottish Cup.
Dundee, by then managed by Bob Shankly - brother of legendary Liverpool boss Bill - would go on to lift the League Title only three years later. They were also to reach the European Cup semi-final as a result.
The win over Dundee handed the Broch a further home tie with a top division outfit, but there was to be no giant-killing repeat as Stirling Albion ran out winners by four goals to three.
FRASERBURGH: Danny Mowatt, Pat McKenna, Dave Aitken, Billy Meldrum, Bunny McCall, Bobby Auld, John Strachan, Billy Bradford, George Andrews, Freddie Smith, George Brander
DUNDEE: Bill Brown,Alex Hamilton, Bobby Cox,Albert Henderson, Jimmy Gabriel, Doug Cowie, Dave Curlett, Jimmy Bonthrone,Alan Cousin, Dave Sneddon, Hugh Robertson

Referees are a vital part of football and as the Scottish FA seeks to continually grow and develop the Scottish game, there is a constant need to recruit and develop referees.
Referee Associations locally continue to be looking to welcome new members and to this end, we would invite anyone interested to contact the Association which covers matches in their area. All football matches require at least a referee and in certain other fixtures also assistant referees. Therefore, new blood is sought on an ongoing basis.
Refereeing can be a highly rewarding challenge, encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle as well as significantly contributing to the development of the game. Referees operate at all levels – from grassroots football right through to the Scottish Professional Football League and international matches.
The Associations run introductory classes; … when numbers are sufficient, on a class based ‘face to face’ basis, which can be tailored to suit candidates … by Zoom which can also be tailored for those interested.
And in addition, there is also an online course which can be
completed at the candidates own pace, in their own surroundings, over 5 modules, with details on the SFA website.
All courses also have a face-toface session for candidates to provide advice on the practicalities of officiating.
We would be delighted to hear from you and contact details are undernoted. Further details are also on the SFA website in the referee section.

Firstly, all at the supporter’s club hope you had a great Christmasandwewould liketowishyouallavery healthyandhappyNew Year.
Due to a poor run of weather many of our December and January gameswerepostponed.
The under 21’s were away against Formartine United on Monday 9th December, a hat-trick from Sean Butcher in the first 10 minutes ensured the lads were off to a flier, Flynn McKay made it 4 in the 35th minute, Formartine pulled a goal back early in the second half, Flynn went on to complete his hattrick later on which put the Broch back at the top of the league, the remainingfixtureswillbe playedintheNewYear.
Buckie Thistle were the visitors to the Bellslea for our next League match, Scott Barbour opened the scoring in the 36th minute,Marley SweenieRowe won a tackle on the left, he passes the ballupthewingtoScott, he races forward and from12yardsouthefires a low shot with his right foot into the bottom right-hand corner of the net,the ball flashes past Ridgers before he can
save, unfortunately BuckierepliedwithKevin Fraser finding the net 12 secondsaftertherestart, both teams had further chances to win the gamebutashareofthe points was probably a fair result at the end of theday.
Congratulations to Ross Aitken who made his 100th appearance for the club in the Buckie game,Ross struggled at the start of the season withaninjury,it’sgreatto see that he is now getting back to full fitness, Ross made his debut for the Broch on Saturday 11th December 2021 when he came on asasubstituteinahome match against Fort William, we won the game by 12 goals to nil, Ross has scored 3 goals for the Broch to date, well done Ross and let’s look forward to the next hundred.
The under 18’s won away by 4 goals to 2 at Huntly, they took the lead in the 16th minute throughHamishGordon, Huntlystruckbackwitha quick-fire double, Hamish scored again in the 43rd minute to level the game at half-time, Angus Robbie scored our 3rd in the 51st minute, Hamish Gordon scored his third and the Broch’s 4th in the 57th minute, this
result, coupled with previous leaders Turriff losing to Formartine, means theYoung Broch now head the table on goaldifference.
We had a great day out at Brechin for our last awaymatchoftheyear, Brechin Golf club was our port of call before the game where we tookonfoodandliquids to see us through the day, in blustery conditionstherewereno goals in a tight first half, Brechin broke the deadlock in the 61st minute when Brad McKay headed home, KieranSimpsoncameto theBroch’srescueinthe 87th minute, Ross Aitken swung in a cross from the right, the Brechin defenders fail to clear the ball which falls to Kieran, he smashes the ball into the net from 10 yards out, some great savesbyJoeallowedus toleaveGlebeParkwith ashareofthepoints.
Our last home game of the year was against Inverness Clachnacuddin, Marley Sweenie-Rowe opened thescoringinthe5th min, FlynnMcKayfloatedina corner from the right wing, Marley rises and heads the ball into the net from 4 yards out, Paul Young added a second in the 73rd
minute, Paul goes on a run down the right wing, he cuts inside and continues to go forward, heshootsfromtheedge of the box with his left foot, the ball takes a deflection and goes past the keeper into the net, Clach were level with a quick fire double late in the second half, Jamie Beagrie came to theBroch’srescueinthe 89th minute, Bryan Hay sweeps the ball forward toScottBarbour, hegoes onarunuptheleftwing, he sends in the perfect crossintothebox,Jamie unmarked heads the ball home from 3 yards outtobagall3points.
The under 18’s were off to Banks O’Dee for their final game of the year, unfortunately on a stormy night they went downby2goalstonil.
Our away match against the Banks O’ Dee had to be postponed due to the weatheraswastheKeith Aberdeenshire shield gameonthe8th January, that game has now been moved to Wednesday 22nd January.
Rothes were to be our first foots for the year, unfortunately once again the weather prevented this fixture fromtakingplace.
Good luck to the lads whentheygoofftoplay Rangers away at Ibrox Stadium this weekend in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup 4th round, it’s a fabulous chance for the players and management to play at the top level of Scottish football, well done to you all and we all hope youenjoythiswonderful occasion, you certainly deserveit.
The Supporters club has 3 full buses going down to the Rangers game, thanks once again for the continued support and let’s hope for a greatdayout. For those who are still interested, Zander Smith has scoffed his 104th match day pie to date this year, 2 pies at the under 18’s game at Formartine on the Monday night brought up the ton, not sure if Ibrox sell pies, maybe caviarandchipsforhim downthere.

What was your job outside of football?
Previously Head of Customer Services (Scotland) for Stewart Milne Homes.
How long did you referee for?
Qualified in 1982 and had to stand down due to injury in 2010 – 28 years.
First match you can remember refereeing?
Boys match, Under 10s in East End of Glasgow.
Why did you start refereeing?
1982 – after attending an initial refereeing course at local Boys Brigade.
Favourite ground to officiate at?
Tynecastle (Heart of Midlothian) for the close proximity of the supporters.
Best refereeing moment?
Refereeing Rangers v Dundee
United, Walter Smith and Ally McCoist first match in charge after the sacking of Paul LeGuen
Most memorable game you officiated at?
Scottish Junior Cup Final – 1999
Kilwinning Rangers v Kelty Hearts
Any amusing incidents you can look back on?
Been on a Champions League trip to Budapest – Ferencvaros v Dynamo Tirana, and receiving a gift after the match from the Albanians of a small piggy bank and the journey home was truly eventful due to major storm at Heathrow, so returned to Aberdeen 24 hours later than scheduled, the fun and events couldn’t be printed here !!
Any decisions you wished you could go back and change?
I ordered off Stuart McAfferty of Inverness Caledonian after a late cynical tackle on Steven Naismith (Kilmarnock FC) just across the half way line. Where all the players expected a free kick and a caution (yellow card), I decided on a red card, which led to a mass stampede of players from ICT running from their penalty box towards me with a raging management duo of Terry Butcher and Maurice Malpas on the touchline shouting some complimentary words of encouragement !!
VAR – Yes
If you were given the chance to create or amend a rule, what would choose?
The delay in awarding offside when its so clear and obvious, as I am fearful we could have a player receiving a serious injury in this situation where play is allowed to continue.
Is there anything at all you think we as clubs could change to encourage more people to become referees?
Promote and respect the refereeing team and encourage ex-players or released players to contact us as there is always an alternative career to remain in football at the top level if you work and train hard.
One piece of advice to a new referee?
Attend Association training sessions. Listen to the advice offered and opportunities presented to progress as there is a great support, coaching and development programme in place within the ABERDEEN & District Referee Association, so come and join us.
Best pieces of advice you were given?
If you make a mistake (which you will) focus and concentrate on the next decision and you will be stronger going forward.
We would like to thank the many businesses who advertise with us at Bellslea Park. Thank you for your continued support.

When did you start watching Fraserburgh and why?
I started watching Broch games back in season 2001-02 as they’re my local team.
Which part of the ground do you go in and why? Any friends you want to mention? I like to watch the games beside the players tunnel with fellow Fraserburgh Supporters Club committee members Kenny, Martin, Derek, and Alan. Also good friends Archie, Mark, John Bryce & friends and my sister Louise. You always get a good laugh there.
Best game and why?
The best Broch game would have to be when we beat Forres Mechanics 5-0 to win the Highland League title - when we’d won the league previously to that I was only about 4 years old so don’t really remember much about it!
Worst game and why?
The worst game would have to be when we lost 3-1 to Bonnyrigg Rose in the League
Two play-off at New Dundas Park. Their sloped pitch meant it wasn’t the best playing and I felt the ref had a really poor game.
Favourite Fraserburgh player of all time and why?
I have two. The first one being Bryan Hay - a topper of a guy and a solid centre half who gives his all when he steps onto the pitch. My second would be Owen Cairns who I thought was a great right back - I’m pleased to see him doing well at Elgin City.
Favourite current player?
My favourite current Broch player just now is too hard to choose. I have one or two favourite players in the current squad but they are a great bunch of lads - I enjoy watching them all to be honest.
If you could sign one HFL player for the Broch who would it be?
My first choice would have been Andy Reid from Inverurie Locos - he is a great addition to the squad. So now I would have to say Aaron Norris or Stuart Smith from Formartine United.
Your all-time Fraserburgh XI?
Paul Leask
Owen Cairns
Bryan Hay
Russell McBride
Willie West
Grant Campbell
Neil McLaren
Scott Murray
Ian Murray
Scott Barbour
Graham Johnston
Thing you like best about the Club?
I really enjoy being around the Club - there’s loads of good people, on and off the park.
Favourite Highland League ground apart from Bellslea?
I don’t really have a favourite away ground to be honest, and I’ve been to almost all of them! Just need to get to Wick Academy which I’m hoping to do next season and that’d be me been to them all.
One thing you'd like to change about football? For referees to be stronger when making decisions.
Any other club you support? Aberdeen, Elgin City, Chelsea, Blackpool, Real Madrid
Who's going to win the league this season?
I think it’s going to be a two horse race between Brechin City and Brora Rangers. If I had to choose I’d probably say Brechin will win it by a couple of points.
What's your hopes for the Broch for the rest of the season?
Hopefully win the Highland League Cup and Aberdeenshire Shield. And to finish off the league campaign as strong as possible - hopefully to finish within the top 5.
