It is a pleasure to welcome you all to our 5th Annual On-property Sale in 2024, either here in person or across Australia online. We have consistently had one of Australia’s biggest on-line presences in the stud beef world and your interest and support is most humbling.
Yes, we do as a family wholeheartedly commit to producing consistent lines of impressive performance cattle; and this year’s drafts are no exception for quality.
The Ultra Black programme has expanded exponentially in response to enquiry AU wide and the quality of the calves coming through is impressive. The selling of two Ultra Black lots for two world record prices, $100,000 for the bull TH New Limit 801S7, and $40,000 for the heifer the TH Miss Geddes 468S29, were highlights of our 2023 TH Sale.
However, more than half of all our Sale animals sell for very affordable prices, with closely related animals to the high sellers selling for just $5-10K. They are also exceptional quality, and represent the theme of this year’s sale, “More for your Money.”
The 2024 season has been extremely challenging here with a prolonged wet season with minimal sunshine and restricted pasture growth. The ability of our cattle to manage ‘the longest wet in living memory’ has certainly shown that we are producing true ‘Brangus for Any Country’.
These Telpara-type Brangus & Ultra Blacks are more than just what meets the eye. Telpara Hills imported Brangus genetics are designed and bred for performance and carcase excellence. No longer can the beef industry produce mediocrity in terms of carcase quality and expect to survive. Premiums and discounts will result from new processor carcase measurements and forward-thinking cattle farmers using Telpara Hills genetics are poised to take advantage of these premiums.
There’s nearly 70 years of ultra-sound carcase measurement inherent in Telpara imported genetics- very few herds in AU can match this. These genetics are your key to your herd being awarded for future demands of increased quality specifications.
This year also marks a milestone of 60 years in the stud world for our Pearce family. Telpara Hills has become internationally known across this journey and we are now seeing our next generations taking the stud business to new heights.
Good luck with your 2024 purchases- they carry the 60-year backing of the Telpara Hills name. Trevor Pearce For the PEARCE FAMILY OF TELPARA HILLS.
Some of the hardworking Pearce family who with our awesome crew, work behind the scenes to create an exciting sale event.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS - All lots will sell under the Australian Livestock & Property Agents Association Ltd Standard Stud Stock Auction Terms and Conditions of Sale. If unfamiliar with these Standard Terms and Conditions, please obtain a copy from Telpara Hills or Elders. Additionally, consent must be granted in writing from Telpara Hills before any genetics from this sale are cloned.
GUARANTEE - Telpara Hills will guarantee bulls and heifers to be fertile via natural service. This guarantees the purchase value minus salvage value, without interest, costs, or damages as a credit. In the event of a bull or female failing to breed, it may be replaced with an animal of comparable value or a credit to the purchase price on a replacement lot in the next sale or on one animal by private negotiation. Claims will not be valid if an incapacity is caused by injury, illness, or neglect since leaving Telpara Hills. Please contact us as soon as possible and within six months of the sale date.
All bulls sell with 80% semen marketing rights, giving the buyer the majority share in any potential semen revenue. If the buyer chooses to do so, we believe there is a great opportunity to market these bulls through our semen company, TGG. In our experience these genetics are outperforming many imported sires. Should any purchaser wish to operate on the basis of 100% ownership, please contact Telpara Hills at least 24 hours prior to the Sale. Under all circumstances and all bull lots, the vendors retain the right to collect semen at a later date at our expense. The buyer takes full possession.
INSPECTION & OPEN DAY - Inspections are open on sale day from 8 am. Inspections prior to sale day are welcomed by arrangement with Telpara Hills. Please note children are not permitted to enter sale pens under WPHS regulations. Telpara Hills will also participate in the Tablelands Better Beef Open Day on Sunday, August 18th 2024. We invite you to visit then as it is a great, relaxed, low-pressure way to view the entire sale team without time constraints and at your own pace.
REGISTRATION - All buyers are required to register prior to the commencement of the Sale. This can also be done online on our website or in person at the Sale. Online bidding instructions can be found on page 4.
SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION - In order to make the most informed decisions about your bull, we will provide a Supplementary Sheet prior to the Sale with full scan data, DNA, and semen testing results. We highly encourage you to look at the IMF % in particular. It measures marbling which the Telpara Hills herd is renowned for. A guide to DNA results is included on page 5.
INSURANCE - All lots become the property of the buyer at the fall of the hammer therefore we highly recommend insurance. As the Sale is on a Saturday, we recommend speaking to your chosen representative prior to the Sale if possible.
TRANSFERS - All animals are registered with the Australian Brangus Cattle Association and are eligible for transfer upon request. Please ensure this is clearly marked on your Buyer’s Instruction Sheet after the Sale. All animals have been DNA profiled or have samples pending.

Simply put, an UltraBlack is the result of Registered Brangus crossed with Registered Angus, creating an animal with excellent eating quality but with a touch of Brahman survivability and hybrid vigor. An UltraBlack is ideal for those wanting to try pure Angus, but still need some resistance to the challenges of a hotter climate.
37.5% Brahman: Telpara Type of Brangus- Extremely versatile, adaptable, optimum benefit
75%-25% Brahman: Can be fully registered as Brangus with the Australian Brangus Cattle Association
Over the years we have found that the “sweet spot” in Brahman percentage in our Brangus cattle is 37.5% (that’s 3/8 Brahman: 5/8 Angus). This produces an animal that is extremely versatile. This ‘Telpara Type’ of Brangus has been proven to work well in even the toughest conditions, often over all Brahman cow herds, yet has enough Angus content to have a major impact on the resulting calves. They have been bred at this percentage for generations, making them stable and predictable.
25-37% Brahman: Higher Generation UltraBlack that can be fully registered as Brangus with the ABCA
8-25% Brahman: UltraBlacks that can with registered with the ABCA as UltraBlacks only
UltraBlacks’ Brahman percentage can range from 8%-25%, depending on generations since the first cross, sometimes referred to as UB1, UB2, etc. UltraBlacks can be registered with the Australian Brangus Cattle Association from 8-25% and UltraBlacks over 25% can usually qualify for full Brangus registration status.
Telpara Hills animals are predominately polled, with zero horned animals, which is a huge achievement and advantage to those who use Telpara Hills bulls.
PcPc = Homozygous Poll
Hpc = Heterozygous Poll
No result of homozygous horn in this sale
The vast majority of Telpara Hills type lots have 2 copies of the Black Coat gene, as well as our UltraBlack options. With the high Brahman content animals, they are all still dominant black, but may have less consistency depending on the females they are mated to. Still, they are excellent options for those who are in especially harsh environments.
ED/ED = Homozygous Dominant Black
ED/E+ = Dominant Black/Wildtype
ED/e = Dominant Black/recessive red
No result of homozygous wildtypes in this sale
The after-sale care of your new bull is one of the most critical in his life. He must transition into a new environment and a new herd, and the care and consideration you give him can make all the difference.
A few tips:
The truck ride can be stressful. When he unloads, place him with a few females or steers as companions, not rival bulls. This will help him settle into his new home.
Cattle learn best from one another. If you are working them with horses or dogs, keeping your new bull with a small herd is a simple and effective way to incorporate them into the normal workings of your farm.
Keep bulls on a rising or steady plane of nutrition. Also ensure your females are on a rising plane of nutrition to give them the best chance of cycling. Ensure you continue his recommended regime of vaccinations.

Could this bull be even better than his sire, Mach Five? When comparing the two at the same age, there’s certainly a good argument that he is! Maximum is a great way to start our 2024 sale with one of the first sons of the 2022 at the time world record priced TH Mach 5, the bull who sold for a jaw-dropping $150,000, the reigning Australian Brangus record-priced bull. He also had the added feather in his cap by achieving equal top points for Champion of the World in the 2022 contest. Bred in the purple, Maximum is one of the first TH Mach 5 sons over a highly proven Suhn’s Foundation daughter of the iconic brood matron TH 541L70. This cow was the only female to come to AU from the USA $70,000 record-priced Brangus cow, The Oaks Miss Csonka 541T7. He has the best pedigree a breeder could dream of! TH Maximum has great eye appeal, over-all body strength, well sprung ribs, tracks perfectly and has a very clean-cut underline, and smooth through the shoulders. This stand-out young bull has pushed himself to the maximum for performance, being the second heaviest in his group, top in EMA score and very strong for IMF. Seeking to add elite genes to your herd here is a bull from the very pinnacle of Telpara Hills’ world class genetics. Someone will go home with this bull, and it might as well be you. Make a maximum effort to get him! Note that we will provide updated EBVs on the supplemental sheet due to a pending DNA result.

Network is a high marbling Gulf Coast son who oozes meatiness. Pronounced jump muscle over his back and down into his hindquarters. When you get behind him, you’ll understand why we’ve made him a feature bull. Gulf Coast was a bull we brought to Australia from the USA as a semen sire, and we are really liking the progeny as they come through the ranks. We also need to mention a superstar in Network’s maternal lineage. His Grand Dam is a full sister to the female who still holds the Australian record Brangus price, Miss Van Damme 15M3, selling for $60,000 to THEG Brangus.
Plenty of muscle power in this River Run 20 sired deep set bull. These River Runs are a departure from our normal Telpara Type, but they are some of the strongest, most impressive calves you’ll ever see. River Run’s classic Australian bloodlines were mixed with our stablising multi-generational polled Telpara genetics, giving you a great option for herds who are in more challenging environments. The Vault is on of the best River Run sons Telpara Hills has bred, with top 5% or better for all carcase EBVs, and he has a gentle temperament.

What a name! What a bull to match it! This is an outstanding Gulf Coast 23F5 son who has blitzed his 30 contemporaries for the title of heaviest yearling in the group. Absolutely awesome in his mob,
with his extra mass, muscle volume, heavy bone and great skin. The 801 cow family started from JOJ 801Y, a 2013 Houston Champion heifer that we purchased and showed in Houston. Her classical phenotype has become a hallmark of the 801 progeny. Recall last year the world record setting UltraBlack New Limit was a descendant of this special cow line. Get on the money hard and chase this one-he is a special young TH sire in 2024. Semen collected for Telpara Hills and Hidden Valley Beef.
Telpara Hills is serious about meat quality, and we’re proud to support Doug Cross and his team at Cross Custom Meats. If you have Telpara Hills sired animals to sell, talk to Doug and Bernie English about supplying the Altitude Brand of high-quality beef. They’ll be at the Sale.
Our UltraBlack programme replicates the original intent of the USA stud masters to add the strengths of the modern-day Angus breed to their existing 3/8 stable Brangus females. The fact that the UltraBlacks have become a breed in itself has been
derivative of the original goal. They are indeed exciting when bulls like this Chiltern Park Moe son show what commercial strengths they can offer the beef industry. Super EBV ratings, with multiple top 5% scores including IMF.
Pictured at only 17 months of age, the bulls in this section of the catalogue are still so
because they will be great value for money! This bull has really developed since picture day, so make sure to find him at our Open Day or Sale.
This appealing bull rated as a top pick.
TH Prospectus 920U10 is again one of those River Run 20 sons who are super well fleshed, long in frame, correct in the shoulders, clean skinned and great in the sheath area.
Wow! Look at his EMA rank, at almost the top rank of Australian Brangus. Looks to be a smart higher-Brahman content sire prospect to add to your herd and his progeny should grade well and yeild on carcase evaluation grids.
The CP Moe M6 bull does it again and again and throws out a real challenge for the top sire of our UltraBlacks at present. TH Joint Venture stands out for heavy weight gain, although he recorded slightly less IMF initially. The usual TH UltraBlack profile with impressive length and widely sprung frame containing smoothly laid in shoulders and of course that tight underline so common in this year’s draft. The original 392L cow was purchased from Camp Cooley Ranch dispersal sale and she was one of their Brinks donor matrons- quite some achievement in terms of their massive operation in Texas.

A slightly more moderately framed TH Cornerstone bull who is really well balanced, clean cut, stretchy and slick coated. Interestingly there are 42 bulls in the Sale from the 541 cow family and their overall average marble raw score is 5.5% to start their preparation, which is already ahead of most herds. Steers by this bull should make a statement in the marketplace.
It’s important to use an accountant who understands farming and farming families. We recommend Margaret and her team in Atherton and appreciate their ongoing support of Telpara Hills.
LEVUCELL SC rumen specific live yeast improves meat yields up to 7% and feed efficiency up to 6%. We have the science to prove it.
LEVUCELL SC. No other yeast works the same.
No one offers heifers like we do.
These 40 Telpara Hills beauties represent the pinnacle of the Brangus breed and the future of UltraBlacks. They are descendants of the search for the best maternal genetics worldwide, and their mothers and grandmothers have been proven to produce outstanding calves in the top studs and commercial operations all over Australia.
Snap up these diamonds in 2024, and have calves on the ground when the cattle market rises in the near future.
We don’t think they can come any better than this heifer. She’s a classic replica of her outstanding dam TH Miss Tailor Made 919Q4 who was the lead ½ share heifer in our 2021 Sale. It is great to see how these elite heifers have reproduced themselves so well. There are three other lots also in the Sale from ½ share heifers. The 919 family is a newer cow line from Alabama and traces back directly to a top female Suhn’s Miss Csonka 919Z4.
On TH 919T3’s sire side there is a heavy infusion of Mound Creek bloodlines in MC El Patron and MC
through her heavily muscled Santa Rosa
Made 361Y12 sire who we inspected in Texas at Santa
Ranch. By using the muscled king TJM Three D, one can see even more fleshing along from the chine to the hips of TH 919T3; she’s a complete meat machine yet still has real femininity, depth and softness.
Inspect her full brothers, lots 5 & 17.

We introduced the higher content River Run 20 AU sire to give traits we believed would appeal to some AU operations. He has done this successfully and TH 541T61 is a female to build on these attributes. Top flight maternal line here with TH Miss Embassador 541L50, the dam of this lot, being the daughter of the amazing Miss Oaks Next Step 541X33 a daughter of the USA at the time, record US $70K Oaks Miss Csonka 541T7. The Oaks Miss Next Step 541X33 sold sale toppers at three successive sales in 2018 to amass over $100K -a remarkable result. Blending these lower generation genetics with the stable Telpara type should give us increased carcase attributes with a more survivability traits. An interesting breeding unit. Here’s a special lot in the 2024 heifer sale. Heifers from this dam TH 15M10 set the sale ring alight in 2022 when four daughters averaged an amazing $31k each. This beauty is a Suhn’s Foundation daughter and she traces back through the 468 cow family to one of the greatest cows of the Camp Cooley Ranch era in Texas; the famous Brinks Miss Cadence 468G15. The influence of these genetics is still evident in the high quality of our 468 descendants in AU today. To get this heifer TH 15T6 we used the TJM Three D son, TH Jetstream who again excelled in easy fleshing, strong EBVs and was from a line of 541 maternal excellent cows. A maternal brother sold for $30,000 to Greenacres. With such a top pedigree, this is a heifer to quickly short-list. You can’t make these genetics, but you can buy them here at the Telpara Hills 2024 sale. PTIC due 11/11/24 to the famous Angus bull, Millah Murrah Paratrooper P15. An amazingly well bred young Ultra Black heifer: firstly, because she is by one of the best of the best Angus sires we have used, but also because her dam TH 209K10 was one of the super imposing K series MC Real Deal females we bred in 2014. She was one of the donors chosen when embryos were sourced from Telpara Hills by USA ranchers at Beef Australia in 2015. Genetics are the starting point to change in the beef game. Obviously by starting at the top you can make faster gains. The Telpara Type aims to do this with these special heifer drafts each year.
These predictable genetics enable us to breed this type of female that make the bulls our buyers chase time after time. There’s a lot to like about this heifer’s background on both sides of her pedigree. You can buy her with confidence.
Reality Q170 bull to a TH Executive first calving heifer TH 541R32. Their dam again traces back through TH Miss Foundation 541P6 to the TH
matriarch. Like their mother these ‘P’ series cows, such as TH 541P6, are all highly fertile and have performed so well in artificial breeding programmes. We have numerous progeny across the TH herd. When both parents of the pedigree are capable of doing their full share of the heavy lifting it is no wonder you get these impressive Telpara Type heifers. Top 1% EBVs!!! UNJOINED
The ‘468’s have that special panache- it seems like they know they are good. The original USA JAK 468P6 started it off; they have been a huge success in AU, with the 468 lots topping the marbling raw score averages in the 2024 sale lots. The sire here TH Heavy Duty 99P6 brings not only the newer 99 cow family to AU, but he brings BWCC Big Town to the breeding table as well. BWCC Big Town made a reputation for himself in USA by siring a number of top priced over US$100K bulls at sales. Hidden in this smart heifer’s background stands one of the very best sires TH has bred, the $50K ½ share TH Real McCoy 920J19. He has been a success AU wide and was used extensively by ½ share owners the Dobe family of De Salis Station.
cow families for performance. The ability of MM Rembrandt to impart his extraordinary width and depth is just so evident in TH 920T19. She sure is a picture poster for her sire!

The dam of this heifer is an older Suhn’s Foundation cow TH 541N3 who holds her place strongly in the stud herd each year. TH 541U24, like her mother is well balanced and appealing with great length, depth and femininity.
