Synopsis

Based on the music by Queen, We Will Rock You is set 300 years in the future in a futuristic and globally corporate world. Planet Earth has been renamed the Planet Mall and is controlled by the Globalsoft Corporation. The head of Globalsoft is the sinister Killer Queen, who has banned all non-computer-generated music. She has heard of a prophecy that instruments have been hidden somewhere on the planet and that ‘The Dreamer’ will emerge from the people to show them the way. She orders her Chief of Police, Khashoggi, to get to the bottom of the matter and crush any rebellion.

Meanwhile, Galileo, a young student and an outsider, is desperate to “break free” from this corporate world. He hears lyrics in his dreams and is heralded as the star of the prophecy by the Bohemians who have been searching for the lost instruments. To fulfil the prophecy, Galileo must evade the clutches of the Killer Queen and finally bring back the music.

Character blurbs

Jessica | Scaramouche

‘I really enjoy being a part of We Will Rock You, and it’s the best opportunity I could ever ask for. Scaramouch is a rebel and doesn’t care about what people think of her, which is something I admire about her. One thing that got me stressed out was definitely the singing and the big opportunity of having a solo. I really think this role got me out of my comfort zone and increased my confidence. I’m so proud to say that I was in this musical, and I hope this is the start of a great career and I will carry on with this passion I have!’

Aylin | Galileo

‘I am really close with my character and happy working as a male character because I feel they are more freestyle and present a different challenge. I can also use this experience when I am going to become an actress and hopefully have a lot of success!’

Thais | Killer Queen

‘I Love my role. I enjoy the chance to play an evil character. It is always fun to step out of my comfort zone. This play has made me have more confidence in myself and develop my skills in Acting and performing. I look forward to the next performance that I will do. Hope you enjoy it. Thais. KQ.’

Character blurbs

‘I personally think that my role was interesting and difficult to play since my character is quite stiff and robotic; it’s hard to display emotions while playing this role, so this was quite a challenge. I had the best experience in this school play and look forward to being in the next one.’

Roderick | Buddy

‘Playing Buddy was not my original choice, but I have enjoyed playing him more than any other role. He is now not only a part of this play but also a part of me. Sometimes, without realising it, I switch to Buddy. It has been one of the best parts of my life and has given me a new purpose. Moving forward, I will be in as many plays as possible, as long as the opportunity arises.’

Augustin | Oz

‘I am super excited to do this role as it’s so enjoyable to play an old hippy that has funny lines, even if there are some challenges, it’s just such fun because it gives me a chance to play, sing and dance in such a cool and awesome way.’

Abigail | Brit

‘I personally think that Brit as a character is super fun to play. But it has been challenging fitting into this role. I’m super nervous about performing, so wish me luck!’
