BSB students win Winston Churchill International School Debating Competition This year has been a particularly good year for the BSB Debating Club as BSB students have enjoyed their first taste of victory in an International School Debating Competition. British Ambassador attends BSB 10th Anniversary Ball The social event of the year in the BSB Calendar this year was without a doubt the BSB Ball with British Ambassador Robin Barnett in attendance in the company of a number of Bucharest’s glitterati. The event was also exclusively covered by the Romanian media.
making it to the final against students from Years 11, 12, and 13, eventually going on to win the Winston Churchill ‘Future Leaders’ Debating Trophy in a very tightly fought final debate against The Cambridge School of Bucharest.
Good snow in Switzerland brings a smile to BSB faces Students in Term 2 enjoyed a wide variety of academic and social events, but perhaps the most memorable, for students lucky enough for to have registered, was the annual BSB Ski Trip to Gstaad, Switzerland to ski the pristine slopes of the Swiss Alps. It was a week of fun and good times spent with friends, and of course a lot of great skiing!
Chess Invitational enjoyed by all On Wednesday the 21st of April AISB hosted the first Bucharest Chess Invitational, and BSB along with 5 other schools arrived to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of chess. In all, 9 BSB students ranging from Year 6 through 10 attended the event and played 6 games each over a period of 3 hours, testing their chess wits against students of a similar age and ability.
