GIVING REPORT 2019- 2020

Giving Report 2019-2020

03

FROM THE DEVELOPMENT OFFICE I am delighted to share with you our first Giving Report, outlining some of our development activities and fundraising efforts during the last academic year. 2020 was a year that marked us in many ways. We celebrated our 50th Anniversary and reflected on the vision and generosity of the individuals who built our school. We remember the legacy they left behind and continue to honour our not-for-profit heritage. Despite the limits of the pandemic year, our community proved to be vibrant and strong. We managed to raise funds which we reinvested into the school and maintained the tradition of educational excellence at The British School of Milan. We are grateful for your help in funding school projects that would not be ordinarily possible without your support. This year’s 5xMille, which raised over €45,000 for Classroom Technology, is an example of how small gestures collectively can make a very large impact. We are fortunate to have a dedicated Board of Governors, the Friends of BSM, numerous class representatives and parent volunteers who have generously donated countless hours and resources. Their concrete examples of giving continue to inspire our community and represent a gift passed on to our students and next generation of leaders. Thank you all for your enthusiasm and enduring support.

Charity and community service is an integral part of the BSM curriculum throughout the Primary and Senior Schools. In the past two years (2018-2020), we were able to support 15+ local and international charities. A total of €10.020 was raised from activities ranging from Bake Sales, Mufti Days to Christmas Jumper Day and an additional €13.711 was raised for our Family Day charity partner, Fondazione Corti. In addition, food and toys are collected several times a year (ie.
