PDG group strikes again

Netherlands-based Powersports Distribution Group (PDG) has announced the acquisition of well-known Shipley based distributor Direct Distribution. The company has been supplying the trade since it was established in 2004 by director Nigel Worthington and will further strengthen PDG’s position as a leading national distributor of motorcycle parts and accessories in the UK.

The latest takeover follows the PDG acquisition of B&C Express in 2021 and Putoline Distribution (also known as Neo Distribution) in 2020, nearly a year after the buy-out of Bradbury Brothers and Rob Hunter in 2019, all of which now trade as Hoco Parts UK.

The company will now operate from three sites in Shipley, Lincoln, and the main headquarters of Hoco Parts UK in Huddersfield.

Denis Brouwer, CEO of PDG, said: “Direct Distribution is the next step for our company to become the leading player in the European market. The acquisition fits perfectly in our successful strategy of growing our businesses both organically and via acquisitions. The employees, customers and suppliers of Direct Distribution will further strengthen our already strong market position in the UK, and we will make sure that they have a warm welcome in the PDG family.”

Nigel Worthington, director and owner of Direct Distribution, added, “We are very happy that we have been able to conclude this deal. This is a great opportunity for the people of Direct Distribution and will strengthen the position of all our brands and help us to offer an even greater service to our customers.”

PDG is a leading European distributor of motorcycle parts and accessories. Headquartered at Breda in the Netherlands, it currently has three divisions: Hoco Parts, DC AFAM and CMS.

PDG is majority-owned by private equity firm Torqx Capital Partners. www.powersportsdistributiongroup.com
