A Better Breakfast Starts With Vegetables (NAPSA)-Here’s a delicious idea: Enjoy vegetables for breakfast. Eating a balanced breakfast with lean protein, healthy carbs and a small dose of healthy fat can be a great way to start the day. Vegetables such as onions help you increase your intake of dietary fiber and other important nutrients with layers of flavor. Use these easy ideas to start your day with a nutritional boost. • Add chopped onions, tomatoes and either spinach or kale to omelets. • Combine hash browns or other breakfast potatoes with cooked vegetables and tofu. • Sauté mushrooms, onions and bell peppers and add to scrambled eggs. • Use up last night’s leftover salad and top with a poached egg. • Spread a thin layer of onion-flavored cream cheese on lightly toasted whole-grain bread. Add sliced tomatoes and sweet onions, avocado and fresh, baby spinach leaves. • Try this tasty onion quiche from the National Onion Association. A lighter version of the classic, this dish is easy to prep ahead and reheat in the morning to take to work or school. SWEET ‘N’ SAVORY ONION QUICHE Makes 6 to 8 servings 5 cups yellow onion, thinly sliced 1 tablespoon olive oil 1⁄2 cup Canadian bacon, diced 1 cup nonfat Swiss cheese, grated 1 tablespoon sugar 1 tablespoon flour 1 teaspoon salt 1⁄4 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1⁄2 teaspoon black pepper 1⁄4 teaspoon nutmeg 2 eggs, 1 egg white, slightly beaten 1⁄4 cup 2% milk 1 9-inch pie shell, unbaked Rosemary and sautéed red onion for garnish

A savory breakfast quiche featuring flavorful onions can be an easy way to start the day. Canadian bacon and grated cheese. In a separate bowl, combine sugar and flour with seasonings. Add slightly beaten eggs and milk to flour mixture. Put sautéed onion, ham and cheese in a pie shell; pour milk and egg mixture over onions. Bake for 35 minutes or until custard sets and top is golden brown. Serve warm.

Tip: Yellow onions are the best, all-purpose choice for both raw and cooked dishes. For more great tips and recipes using onions, visit www.onions-usa.org/recipes.

• Wrap up a morning’s nutrition with a breakfast burrito: Fill a whole wheat or sprouted wheat tortilla with sautéed onions, scrambled eggs, tomatoes and cilantro. Top with plain yogurt and a fresh salsa like this one: ONION-PEACH SALSA Makes 6 servings 1⁄2 cup chopped yellow onion 2 cups chopped fresh ripe or thawed frozen peaches, drained 3 tablespoons chopped cilantro leaves_ 2 tablespoons chopped jalapeño pepper Salt_ Fresh lime juice

Combine ingredients in mediDirections: Preheat oven to 425 um bowl, adding salt and lime juice degrees. Sauté onions in olive oil to taste; cover and refrigerate until until tender and translucent. Add ready to serve. Makes 6 servings.

Tips for Grilling Better Baby Back Ribs (NAPSA)-Ribs are a grilling favorite; however, according to the 24th annual Weber GrillWatch Survey, 17 percent of grill owners consider ribs to be the most challenging food to grill. “There are a few tricks to the trade when it comes to delicious ribs,” says NY Times best-selling author Jamie Purviance. “Removing the membrane from the back of the ribs is essential, and of course cooking over low indirect heat for a long time results in fall-off-the-bone ribs every time.” Purviance outlines all of his tips for grilling perfect ribs in a two-page Grill Skills spread in his new cookbook, “Weber’s New Real Grilling.”

Baby Back Ribs With Spicy Rub And Molasses Barbecue Sauce Serves: 4 Prep time: 20 minutes Grilling time: 31/4-41/4 hours Rub: 2 tablespoons packed golden brown sugar 1 tablespoon kosher salt 2 teaspoons chipotle chili powder 2 teaspoons garlic powder 1 teaspoon prepared chili powder 1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 2 racks baby back ribs, each 2-21/2 pounds Sauce: 2 tablespoons unsaltedbutter 1 yellow onion, 7-8 ounces, finely chopped 1 cup ketchup 3⁄4 cup light molasses (not blackstrap) 1⁄2 cup beer, preferably lager 1⁄4 cup cider vinegar 3 tablespoons tomato paste 11⁄2 teaspoons mustard powder 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 cup beer, preferably lager Combine the rub ingredients. Using a dull knife, slide the tip under the membrane covering the back of each rack of ribs. Lift and loosen the membrane until you can pry it up, then grab a corner of it with a paper towel and pull it off. Season the racks all over with the rub, and allow them to stand at room temperature for 45 minutes before grilling. Prepare the grill for indirect cooking over low heat (250° to 350° F). Meanwhile, in a sauce_pan over medium-high heat, melt the butter. Add the onion and cook until slightly softened, 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the re_maining sauce ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer, uncovered, until thickened, for 18 to 20 minutes. Remove from the heat. Place the racks, bone side down, over indirect low heat, as far from the heat as possible, close the lid, and cook for 3 hours. After the first hour, baste the racks with beer, particularly any areas that are looking a little dry. Continue to baste with beer every hour or so. After 3 hours, check to see if one or both racks are ready to come off the grill. They are done when the meat has shrunk back from the ends of most of the bones by 1/4 inch or more. Lift a rack by picking up one end with tongs. It should bend in the middle and the meat should tear easily. If the meat does not tear easily, return the racks to the grill, close the lid, and continue cooking for up to 1 hour more. Remove the racks from the grill and lightly brush them on both sides with some of the sauce. Return the racks to the grill and cook over indirect low heat, with the lid closed, until the surface is slightly crispy, 10 to 20 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove from the grill and let rest for 5 to 10 minutes. Cut the racks between the bones into individual ribs; serve warm with the remaining sauce (c)2013 Weber-Stephen Products LLC. ARIES – Mar 21/Apr 20

Aries, try not to pick sides when asked for your opinion on a dispute between close friends. Giving the impression of picking sides may strain a friendship.

Aries, you have a firm grasp on what you need to accomplish in the week ahead. Stay focused on your tasks and that focus will pay off by the end of the week.

Now is a great time to explore new culinary horizons, Aries. You just may find a new type of cuisine that you never would have anticipated liking.

Aries, you have some shopping to do, but it is better if you space out your purchases and conserve your funds. A surprise bill may pop up and catch you off guard.

TAURUS – April 21/May 21

Many positive things are on the horizon, Taurus. You just have to get through a few rough spots before it is clearer sailing this week. Pisces is a pivotal player.

Taurus, your financial burden is a little easier this week. Perhaps you have caught up on bills or have received a little extra money you didn't expect.

GEMINI – May 22/Jun 21 Challenge yourself this week, Gemini. Now is a great time to take on a new hobby or task and test your mettle. You will be glad you did when you accomplish your goals.

CANCER – June 22/Jul 22 Cancer, trust those around you as they can be a valuable source of support and encourgagment. Work to be there for them as much as they have been there for you.

LEO – July 23/August 23 Leo, a travel opportunity is just over the horizon, so have your bags packed and ready to depart at a moment's notice. You can certainly use some time away.

VIRGO – Aug 24/Sept 22 Virgo, once you think you have everything figured out, a few variables get thrown into the mix. You will show your ability to solve problems if you can handle the task.

LIBRA – Sept 23/Oct 23 Libra, someone close to you puts their faith in your ability to get a job done. Devote all of your attention to completing this task, and it will only enhance your resume.

SCORPIO – Oct 24/Nov 22 Scorpio, others are quick to look to you for help because of your work ethic, experience and attention to detail. Embrace these opportunities as they can help your career.

SAGITTARIUS – Nov 23/Dec 21 Sagittarius, it could be in your best interest to remain out of the spotlight at the next social gathering. You might have a more enjoyable time as a fly on the wall.

CAPRICORN – Dec 22/Jan 20 Capricorn, tight deadlines at work will have the pressure on you and your coworkers. But stick to the task at hand, and you will reap the rewards in the near future.

AQUARIUS – Jan 21/Feb 18 Hard work will get you ahead, Aquarius. Don't shy away from an opportunity that comes your way, even if it seems less than promising at first glance.

GEMINI – May 22/Jun 21 Gemini, whether you are in a relationship or are looking for a new romantic partner, the next few days are the moments for putting on the charm.

CANCER – June 22/Jul 22 Cancer, many things need to get done this week before you can set work aside and take a much-needed vacation. Once you get through the bulk of things, you can relax.

LEO – July 23/August 23 Save some of your good fortune for others, Leo. When you share the wealth, not only will you feel better about yourself, but also you will certainly have more friends around you.

VIRGO – Aug 24/Sept 22 Without you the well-oiled wheels of the work machine just won't spin correctly, Virgo. That can put a lot of pressure on you in your career, so weigh the options of a day off.

TAURUS – April 21/May 21 Taurus, if you feel like there haven't been too many opportunities to socialize with friends, host your own gathering of friends and family. Start planning now.

GEMINI – May 22/Jun 21 Gemini, sometimes forgetting responsibilities and acting like a child for a day can be good for the spirit. Take a mental health day and don't let worries get you down for a few hours.

CANCER – June 22/Jul 22 Cancer, make travel plans before the summer passes you by. There has never been a better time to get out for a road trip or book a weekend jaunt to somewhere special.

LEO – July 23/August 23 Leo, it can be difficult to upstage you, but someone else steps into the spotlight at work and it has you reeling for a little while. Be the bigger person and offer congrats.

VIRGO – Aug 24/Sept 22

LIBRA – Sept 23/Oct 23

Virgo, you might be ultra careful when choosing friends, but keep in mind those closest to you have been there through thick and thin. Remember that this week.

Libra, sometimes you have to be the voice of reason, and this won't always make you popular with others. Though some may not rally around you this week, they'll relent.

LIBRA – Sept 23/Oct 23

SCORPIO – Oct 24/Nov 22

Libra, despite the many changes you have made, you still don't feel completely satisfied. You can't put your finger on what is off, but you will get to it eventually.

SCORPIO – Oct 24/Nov 22

Something that seemed like a good idea at first glance may not seem like the best thing to do right now, Scorpio. Switch gears while you can still take another path.

SAGITTARIUS – Nov 23/Dec 2 Sagittarius, although you may rather spend your time doing something else for the next few days, handle your upcoming obligations without complaint.

CAPRICORN – Dec 22/Jan 20 Surround yourself with close friends, Capricorn. They will serve as your anchor in difficult situations that may come to pass this week. It's good to have a support system.

AQUARIUS – Jan 21/Feb 18 There is more to you than others see, Aquarius. Sometimes you relish in being mysterious, and this is one of those times. Others' interest will be piqued.

Scorpio, you have heard the saying that you catch more flies with honey. Be prepared to lay the honey on especially thick this week. Have fun with it.

TAURUS – April 21/May 21

Taurus, recreational plans may have to take a back seat to responsibilities at work this week. Just when you thought you were done with all of your assignments, some extra work finds you.

GEMINI – May 22/Jun 21

Gemini, you may feel as though you are alone this week. All it takes is a phone call or email to have some company if you feel the need. Don't hesitate to make a connection.

CANCER – June 22/Jul 22

It may be difficult to get to the heart of a matter that has monopolized your time, Cancer. But some things will come to light soon enough if you remain patient.

CANCER – June 22/Jul 22

There is no easy way out of a tricky situation involving some friends. You will end up in hot water if you take one's side over the other. The best thing to do is remain neutral.

VIRGO – Aug 24/Sept 22

Virgo, this week brings a chance to get rid of old habits that have been keeping you from putting your best foot forward. Take advantage of this opportunity.

LIBRA – Sept 23/Oct 23

Libra, you are expected to lead the way for others, even though you do not have all of the answers. Don't worry, you work well under pressure and others will follow your lead.

SCORPIO – Oct 24/Nov 22

Your career could be coming to a crossroads, Scorpio. Start networking now as much as possible so you are in a better position should you need to make a move.

SAGITTARIUS – Nov 23/Dec 21

Sagittarius, it's hard to smile when you are feeling upset. This is not the week to let your true feelings show, though. Get through your obligations first.

Sagittarius, jump into something new if you feel like taking chances. Even if your leap of faith doesn't reap any rewards, you will feel better for having tried.

CAPRICORN – Dec 22/Jan 20

Carpricorn, if you have been thinking about getting active to shed a few pounds, then try something fun like playing a sport. Exercise doesn't have to mean time in the gym.

AQUARIUS – Jan 21/Feb 18

PISCES – Feb 19/Mar20

Certain aspects of your life are a work in progress, Aquarius. Other things you have under control. This week, focus on the things that may be holding you back.

Pisces, you may find yourself in a leadership role this week and will be called on to make a lot of decisions. Take advantage of this opportunity.

Don't take any sniffles or sneezes for granted, Pisces. Make sure this week you pay attention to your health to ensure good days ahead.

Pisces, while creative pursuits tickle your fancy this week, some more mundane tasks require your immediate attention.

PISCES – Feb 19/Mar20

FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY

Capricorn, you may end up getting blamed for something that isn't your fault. Bide your time and the truth will come out. Accept the apologies of those who were quick to blame. Aquarius, try not to overdo things when you are met with a burst of creative energy this week. You may start more projects than you can possibly handle.

PISCES – Feb 19/Mar20

Pisces, so much is going on this week that you will need to organize your thoughts and manage your time effectively. You're up to the task.

FUN BY THE NUMBERS Like puzzles? Then you’ll love sudoku. This mind-bending puzzle will have you hooked from the moment you square off, so sharpen your pencil and put your sudoku savvy to the test! HERE’S HOW IT WORKS: Sudoku puzzles are formatted as a 9x9 grid, broken down into nine 3x3 boxes. To solve a sudoku, the numbers 1 through 9 must fill each row, column and box. Each number can appear only once in each row, column and box. You can figure out the order in which the numbers will appear by using the numeric clues already provided in the boxes. The more numbers you name, the easier it gets to solve the puzzle.
