Tips For Navigating This Year’s Health Insurance Open Enrollment Season (NAPSA)-Open enrollment is the time of year, usually between September and December, when millions of Americans have the opportunity to select or switch their health insurance plan for the following year. Unfortunately, just 14 percent of Americans understand basic health insurance concepts such as deductible, co-pay, co-insurance and out-of-pocket maximum, according to a recent study published in the Journal of Health Economics. “Choosing health care coverage for yourself and your family is one of the most important decisions you will make this year,” said Tom Paul, chief consumer officer for UnitedHealthcare. “Fortunately, there are a number of useful resources people can use as they review and understand their options for selecting the plan that best meets their personal health and budget needs.” Beginning this fall, the Congressional Budget Office estimates that an additional 7 million people may participate in open enrollment as a result of the government’s newly created state health insurance exchanges, otherwise known as “marketplaces.” The exchanges are a component of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) and are designed to give people, especially lower-income individuals and families that may qualify for federal subsidy assistance, another resource to purchase health insurance. In general, most people who get health insurance at work will see little or no change in the open-enrollment process, and people on Medicare, Medicaid and other government insurance programs are also not likely affected. The vast majority of Americansabout 157 million with employer-provided coverage, and more than 51 million Medicare beneficiaries-will continue to

select a health insurance plan in the same way they have done in the past. Regardless of how you access health insurance, it’s important to pay attention to the following open enrollment dates and tips: • Employer-Provided Coverage-Fall; specific dates depend on the employer Most Americans receive em_ployer-provided health benefits, so their open enrollment process will most likely stay the same. Large employers and some small employers typically schedule a two- to three-week period during the fall when their employees can select health benefits for the following year. • Tip: Ask about wellness programs. Some health insurers, including UnitedHealthcare, offer incentive-based wellness programs that provide financial rewards for completing health assessments, lowering your cholesterol, losing weight or even signing up for a health coaching program. • Medicare Open Enrollment Period-Oct. 15 through Dec. 7 For most Medicare beneficiaries, the Open Enrollment Period is their only opportunity all year to make changes to their Medicare coverage. • Tip: Think about what’s changed regarding your health and your options. A lot can change in a year. Consider if your current plan is still meeting your health and budget needs. Medicare plans can change each year, too, so spend time reviewing the options available. Some Medicare Advantage plans offer additional benefits that can help enhance your health and wellbeing and save you money, such as vision coverage and hearing aids. You can compare your options using the plan finder tool at www.Medicare.gov. • Health Insurance ExchangesOct. 1 through March 31 A public health insurance exchange may be a good option for people who are eligible to receive a government subsidy that lowers monthly premiums.

There are a number of useful resources to help you choose your health care plan. • Tip: Find out if you qualify for a subsidy. In general, subsi-

dies are available to individuals who meet household income requirements and who are not eligible for certain government insurance programs (such as Medicaid) or do not have access to affordable coverage through their employer. For helpful information and resources, visit UHC.com and MedicareMadeClear.com. To learn more about health insurance exchanges, visit www.healthcare.gov.

Have A Happy “Friendsgiving” (NAPSA)-Can’t make it home for the holidays? Consider hosting a Fun “Friendsgiving” day with colleagues, dorm mates, neighbors and pals. Luckily, it can be easy to do-even in small apartments, offices or college kitchens. Don’t worry about a lot of extra equipment. It’s easy to roast a turkey in a Reynolds Oven Bag. Reynolds also makes disposable Bakeware that makes cooking and transporting a cinch. It’s made with heavy-duty aluminum, so don’t sweat a big mess. And the bright-blue exterior is stylish enough for serving. You can see how well they work with this recipe: HERB-ROASTED TURKEY 1

Reynolds Oven Bag, Turkey Size 1 tablespoon flour 2 stalks celery 1 medium onion 1 8- to 24-pound turkey, fresh or thawed 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or melted butter 1 tablespoon dried sage 1 teaspoon each dried thyme, basil, rosemary, paprika and seasoned salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper Preheat oven to 350° F. Shake flour in Reynolds Oven Bag; place in large roasting pan at least 2 inches deep. Spray inside of bag with nonstick cooking spray, if desired, to reduce sticking with large turkeys. Add vegetables to oven bag. Remove neck and giblets from turkey. Rinse turkey, pat dry and brush with oil.

Combine seasonings in a small bowl; sprinkle and rub evenly over turkey. Place turkey in oven bag on top of vegetables. Close oven bag with nylon tie; cut six 1/2-inch slits in top. Insert meat thermometer through slit in bag into thickest part of inner thigh not touching the bone. Tuck ends of bag in pan. Bake 11/2 to 2 hours for 8-12-pound turkeys; 2 to 21/2 hours for 12-16-pound turkeys; 21/2 to 3 hours for 1620-pound turkeys; 3 to 31/2 hours for 20-24-pound turkeys or until meat thermometer reads 180° F. For lightly stuffed turkeys, add 1/2 hour to bake time. Let stand in oven bag 15 minutes. Cut open top of bag. Use two carving forks, inserting one in each end, to lift turkey from bag. Be sure the turkey is completely thawed before starting to cook it. Depending on the size of the bird, this may take several days in the refrigerator. For a video on how to prep and cook turkey in the oven bags, go to www.reynoldskitchens.com. At that site, you can also find further facts and more Friendsgiving recipes.

ARIES – Mar 21/Apr 20

Aries, delay your plans for the time being. A number of unexpected tasks that will require your undivided attention in the coming day, so clear your schedule.

Participate in something new and interesting this week, Aries. The perfect activity will present itself in the next few weeks, so be sure to keep your eyes open.

Aries, handle some unfinished business and establish clear priorities. Otherwise, you may turn what could be a productive week into something frustrating.

TAURUS – April 21/May 21 Assume the role of the strong and silent type this week, Taurus. You do not have to share your opinions with everyone, as an air of mystery may boost your popularity.

GEMINI – May 22/Jun 21

TAURUS – April 21/May 21 Taurus, delay any upcoming shopping excursions for the time being. Your coffers are getting a bit sparse, and you need to conserve the rest of your funds.

GEMINI – May 22/Jun 21

It can be easy to allow excitement to overtake your logic, Gemini. But you need to be patient and not allow exuberance to interfere with the tasks at hand. That is a recipe for trouble.

Listen to advice this week, Gemini. Loved ones only want to help and provide support, so keep that in mind when those closest to you offer some guidance.

CANCER – June 22/Jul 22

Cancer, your suspicions may be aroused by someone who has been paying more attention to you than normal. It could be something completely innocent, but right now you're not sure.

Cancer, a hefty workload at the office may zap your desire to do much else. However, don't pass up the opportunity when a social engagement beckons this week.

LEO – July 23/August 23 Leo, you will have to continue your rather hectic pace this week, even when you start to feel tired. Fortunately, you are excited about some of the things on your to-do list.

VIRGO – Aug 24/Sept 22 Virgo, getting involved with the right people now opens doors that previously may have been closed to you. Do not squander the opportunity to use these new contacts.

LIBRA – Sept 23/Oct 23 Libra, conflicting emotions arise in the week ahead. You have the desire to fulfill people's expectations of you, but you also just want some time to yourself.

SCORPIO – Oct 24/Nov 22

CANCER – June 22/Jul 22

LEO – July 23/August 23 Every day is a learning process, Leo. You will find that there are a number of new ideas swirling around in your head, and if you pin one down, you may be on to something.

VIRGO – Aug 24/Sept 22 Your colleagues at work may be making things difficult, Virgo, but there is nothing you can do about it right now. Just work your hardest, and things will turn out for the best.

LIBRA – Sept 23/Oct 23 Libra, prepare to juggle multiple responsibilities in the coming days. Be ready to multi-task and expect to be pulled in multiple directions.

TAURUS – April 21/May 21 Taurus, when you wear your heart on your sleeve for everyone to see, you cannot be shy about expressing your emotions. Friends may be skeptical of you though.

December 22 - 26 ARIES – Mar 21/Apr 20 Aries, some difficulty awaits you, but you are strong and fully capable of handling what's coming your way. Maintain your composure and stick it out a little longer.

TAURUS – April 21/May 21 Taurus, this is your week to shine and let everyone at work know just how talented and devoted you are to the team. Enjoy the fanfare while you can get it.

GEMINI – May 22/Jun 21

Gemini, don't be shy about sharing unique plans with your loved ones. The support of friends and family members will only restore your confidence in this new direction.

Distractions are lurking, Gemini, but you will still manage to get things done. Somehow you find the focus needed to muddle through all the work.

CANCER – June 22/Jul 22 Expect your ideas to take shape over the next couple of days, Cancer. Concrete plans will materialize as you begin to pull thoughts from your imagination. The results will be unique.

LEO – July 23/August 23 You probably are not interested in inching along this week, Leo. Though it's good to attack a project with gusto, don't rush so much that you make mistakes.

VIRGO – Aug 24/Sept 22 Virgo, you are quite comfortable sharing your thoughts now that you have gotten some things worked out. It's now much easier to talk about future possibilities.

LIBRA – Sept 23/Oct 23 Decoding all of the mixed signals coming your way won't be easy, Libra. The only thing you can do for the moment is to take each signal one at a time.

SCORPIO – Oct 24/Nov 22

CANCER – June 22/Jul 22 Trust someone close to you with a few of your secrets, Cancer. Holding them in may only cause you grief in the long run. Don't worry, your confidante will be supportive.

LEO – July 23/August 23 Leo, an investment opportunity has piqued your interest. Until you sign over the funds, be sure to research everything thoroughly and call in some expert advice.

VIRGO – Aug 24/Sept 22 Virgo, you have a lot on your plate, but you can handle it on your own. If things are to get done, you will get them accomplished of your own accord, even if it takes longer.

LIBRA – Sept 23/Oct 23 Some added confidence is all you need to get back on the right track, Libra. Things are bound to work out in your favor, especially when you put your mind to something.

SCORPIO – Oct 24/Nov 22

Scorpio, maintaining your focus on chores is nearly impossible this week, when you are easily distracted by anything else that sounds interesting. Try to get your work done.

SCORPIO – Oct 24/Nov 22

SAGITTARIUS – Nov 23/Dec 21

Sagittarius, you are having so much fun lately that it almost seems like life is a game. Just don't get so caught up in the good times that you overlook your responsibilities.

Opportunities to address your physical well-being present themselves this week, Sagittarius. Make the most of these opportunities to make a significant change.

CAPRICORN – Dec 22/Jan 20

Expect to be busy for the rest of the month, Capricorn. With potential birthday celebrations and holiday tasks to complete, spare moments are few and far between.

CAPRICORN – Dec 22/Jan 20

Capricorn, you will ride a creative wave for the next several days. Inspiration will strike when you least expect it. You should have some time for play.

Remember that words said in the heat of the moment will not soon be forgotten, Capricorn. Don't forget to employ some tact when discussing serious matters with loved ones.

AQUARIUS – Jan 21/Feb 18

Aquarius, expect some support from family members and close friends. Receive their generosity as warmly as you can, even if you're feeling a bit smothered.

Aquarius, this week you will have to be very convincing if you want plans to go your way. Brush up on your approach and give thought to exactly what it is you want to say.

Reestablish your priorities, Sagittarius. Doing so will help you live up to your end of the bargain on various commitments. If necessary, ask others for help.

CAPRICORN – Dec 22/Jan 20

Aquarius, learning a new skill this week will only add to your already vast repertoire of abilities. This is one more reason to have a positive attitude.

PISCES – Feb 19/Mar20 Emphasize feeling good about yourself this week, Pisces. Doing so will enable you to help others in the near future.

Scorpio, a small misunderstanding turns into a larger battle this week. But you have the power to put the flames out quickly by keeping a cool head.

Capricorn, you usually take your responsibilities quite seriously, and that is often for the best. Just be sure to let your hair down sometimes and have a little fun. Aquarius, some irregularities have begun to pop up of late. It is not up to you to figure out what is going on, though. Others will discover the truth.

PISCES – Feb 19/Mar20 Pisces, your head may be in the clouds, but it is quite comfortable up there. Just don't linger up there too long.

PISCES – Feb 19/Mar20 Pisces, it can be easy to get swept away by other people's agendas when you attempt to lend a helping hand. Do your best to pitch in.

CAPRICORN – Dec 22/Jan 20

PISCES – Feb 19/Mar20 Take a few days to let your mind wander, Pisces. You will probably find being a free spirit to be a refreshing break from the norm.

The earliest type of timekeeper, dating from as far back as 3500 B.C., was the shadow clock, or gnomon, a vertical stick or obelisk that casts a shadow. An Egyptian shadow clock of the eighth century B.C. is still in existence.

Obligations to work and family leave you short on personal time, Leo. Though your schedule is hectic, make time to unwind and you will be glad for having done so. The pneumatic tire was invented by John Boyd Dunlop in 1888 for use on push-bikes. Boyd also invented the word “pneumatic.”

VIRGO – Aug 24/Sept 22 It may take a while to convince someone to go along with your idea, Virgo. Yet once you have this person's support, they will be fully on board.

AQUARIUS – Jan 21/Feb 18 Aquarius, even though it will be a busy week, you aren't likely to feel wiped out. There will still be time for fun. Figure out a day to do something enjoyable.

PISCES – Feb 19/Mar20 Pisces, you are torn between being creative and following convention at work. Ask a colleague for some input.

FUN BY THE NUMBERS Like puzzles? Then you’ll love sudoku. This mind-bending puzzle will have you hooked from the moment you square off, so sharpen your pencil and put your sudoku savvy to the test! HERE’S HOW IT WORKS: Sudoku puzzles are formatted as a 9x9 grid, broken down into nine 3x3 boxes. To solve a sudoku, the numbers 1 through 9 must fill each row, column and box. Each number can appear only once in each row, column and box. You can figure out the order in which the numbers will appear by using the numeric clues already provided in the boxes. The more numbers you name, the easier it gets to solve the puzzle.
