-Hi Jackie could you give us a little summary about your origin and how did you get to this fitness activity?

The origin of Xco Latin was November 2010 at a time I used this tool called expo training that are not weights, they are not maraquitas and I loved the impact that this tool had on my body. Hence the love for tools was born and from that moment I decided to study its origin in more depth which led me to the creator of it, the Dutch physiotherapist Jan Herman, we met in Germany and I presented my project to him after having practiced with the tools. My routine was based on something that was not dance since the tools come from rehabilitation. You can go from rehabilitation to shoulder neck and cervical and protecting our main core body which is where it comes from and generates all the movement of our body. We met in Germany and I presented my project to him, I clarified that it was not dance, they are Latin rhythms, it is Latin music with athletic movements that we call movement patterns, because each movement helps you improve your mobility and your ability to perform. Performance capacity is your ability to withstand your durability, no matter your age or physical condition, because each person determines the intensity of the movement. From there the concept of the modality is developed, Its name is Xco Latin by Jackie, a name chosen by the creator of the tool Jan Herman and endorsed by entities recognized worldwide in the field of fitness that afaa aerobics and fitness association of America , American council on exercise and the National Academy of Sports medicine. That’s where the modality was born.

-Please describe Xco Latin by Jackie

As I would say, the modality was born from my passion in the field of fitness and developing a concept that would have a benefit for each person who could use it. When I met with Mr. Herman, I learned more about the tool, I learned that he comes out of rehabilitation and we develop these movements which have an effect on the body, it has a meaning because each pattern or each movement has its name and is registered.

-Is your program apparently more focused on women?

I love the question of it being female-focused because it really isn’t. It seems that it is for women, but it is not like that, it begins with the story of the skirt that is the icon of our modality, but do not let the skirt fool you. Woman in skirt are empowered women, it is a symbol of historical activity of women without fear of judgment and sure of themselves. I still wear the skirt at 54 years old motivating other women to do the same and let it be known that it is possible. That woman is me, that woman is you, but I invite the boys to try to do the class because you burn up to 39% more calories and I come back and repeat it is not dance, they are Latin rhythms with movements that help you improve your ability, performance and mobility.

How not to look better?

How to improve your posture and I love all this. Although the focus was originally on them, now I see that men try and really bless these tools that are cylindrical tubes that have a loose mass, this tool weighs nothing more than 1.2 pounds and they look at me as if to say that it is easy but then they realize they can’t, I laugh a lot because many of them can’t even finish class.

-What makes your style different in the market?

Look at the difference in the style is the purpose, the difference is to motivate and help other people to change their lifestyle is not only physical, it is their way of living, move better, feel better, no matter how old you are. We motivate and through the modality that it is not only to see you better, it is that you move better that that grandmother can run, can walk and can hug her grandchildren because within the modality we educate her to move better as to have a good posture and how all movement comes from the upper body our modality focuses on the upper body where the 29 most important muscles of your body are where all your mobility comes from towards your extremities.

-How are you combining your job and your family?

I can say from balancing my family that I am the mother of 5 children from the age of thirty-somethings to the age of 16 I have two girls and three boys, all professionals, some live in Miami, another live in California, another live in Texas, married, and no, I’m not Grandmother still but I have motivated girls and boys, as I tell you, to have a much healthier lifestyle. I have one who is retired from the armed forces and I have a doctor in psychology, another who is a professional in public relations and everything that has to do with social, commercial and promotional networks. It has not been easy but as a mother I am proud of each one of them and they are extremely proud of their mother. With my partner we are a team, we always work together, he has to do with the commercial and promotion area, he was director of sales and marketing for companies like Pepsi Cola and That makes us a winning team, he is the commercial part, I am the educational part because I studied biology, I have a degree in exercise physiology, well, I prepared myself and gave myself the basis to understand the tools that science behind the exercise and this complement as a couple has helped us to create this movement, it has not been easy but we really are a

great team working together. And what else than being able to see it in different countries throughout the world and that has taken us to another level as a couple, we have our offices and we are very happy with everything we have developed with this movement that is helping to change lives throughout the world.

-How do you market your product?

The first way is through the results, the person who takes our class feels good and they feel the effect immediately from the first day they become fanatical about the changes that are experience quickly in their body. Because those cylindrical tubes have a loose mass that creates an impact that goes through your entire body working from the largest muscle to the smallest without hurting your joints because the movements you do are three-dimensional movements that really do not affect your joint at any time; The tool comes from rehabilitation to the field of fitness, it has been like that and we have conquered countries such as South Korea, Portugal, Germany, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Colombia, Austria, the United States, Spain and Mexico and it has really become a fever. We call it a movement with awareness, a movement with purpose and the purpose is to change your lifestyle, it is not only to look better, it is to feel better, it is to move better.

- How is it reorganizing with the new situation of the pandemic and towards the future?

Well, it has affected us all but it has not limited us. Through virtual and face-to-face hybrid events, obviously taking the due measures and precautions established in the protocols, motivating and carrying a message that surrender is not an option, I have God as the center and I try to bring joy and motivate each person, each home organizing various virtual events that has been a success. For example, virtual class in Homeland and people have connected from South Korea to Portugal It does not matter the time change and it really has motivated them to move to continue because if you stay at home locked up the tool you can take it anywhere and that motivates them to continue, just like taking virtual walks with the tool. Five virtual Ks that you can do at home at the end it is the message, it is the movement, it is the purpose of encouraging others to change their lifestyle.E

-Can you give some tips or advice to young girls who want to become like you?

The advice I can give another person is not to give up and fight for your goals. There are always going to be obstacles, but I have learned that no matter how big the obstacles are, there is always a teaching and a blessing behind them that drives you and takes you to another level, be it personal or professional. You never stop learning, the day you stop learning you will stop living and that is why for me this adventure, this trip has been one of teaching and growth not only personal but professional at my age I can say that I look and I am at my best, I have the best health, I am 54 years old, and I keep a very healthy lifestyle and I motivate other women to change their lifestyle and not only women, but also men who can’t stop moving, they can’t stop really feeling good. Never stop learning because the day you stop learning you will stop living. E

The difference between motivate and help others to change their lifestyle, it’s not only a physical change but the way of living by moving better, feeling better not matter their age.
