A Special Gift for The Loved Ones - Engraved Crystal Glass

Crystal glasses are not only an elegant piece of crockery to own, but they also make for a luxurious gifting option. However, if you want to make your gift stand out or add a touch of thoughtfulness, engraved crystal glasses are the way to go. Engraved crystal glasses can be presented to anyone, newlyweds, new parents or homeowners, or those celebrating their birthdays and anniversaries. You can also give them to someone as a graduation gift to make their day more memorable.

Besides personal gifting, engraved crystal glasses are an excellent choice for corporate gifts, especially for those holding executive positions. Techniques of engraving on a crystal glass:

 Stipple: This technique requires skills and patience and is not simple as the drilling technique. A carbide stylus is used to make small dots on the glass by constant tappings. The resulting image has a misty effect.

 Drill technique: This is a common technique, and often beginners are introduced to glass engraving through the drilling technique. It involves tools like diamond burrs, polishers, and stone burrs. However, this method demands a lot of patience and attention.

 Sandblasting: In this method, the glass is covered with masking tapes or similar materials. The area meant for the design is kept exposed. Then a grit abrasive substance is ‘blasted’ on the glass under high pressure, which forms the design.

 Etching: Etching is not a method of engraving, although it is used to make patterns on crystal glasses. Here a stencil is placed on the glass, and an acid paste is applied to get the desired result. Sometimes, etching and engraving are done together for interesting outcomes. Engraved crystal glasses may be expensive compared to other gifts. Nevertheless, their aesthetics is worth every dime, especially when it is paired with your personal touch.

 Laser engraving: Laser engraving uses a laser that burns down the design on the crystal glass. It is a modern method and is less time-consuming compared to the other techniques. It is ideal for large-scale orders.
