Elite street circus performers combine their amazing skills in performing breathtaking acts of courage and bravery. The cast of aerialists, acrobats, musicians, slack-rope walkers, giant puppet characters and the eye-watering displays by their fakir, present a colourful, vibrant, fastmoving extravaganza of intrigue, drama, feats of daring, music, laughter and surprise.

The Cult Classic, The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert returns to cinemas this summer in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the 1994 release. The story follows Anthony or “Tick” (Hugo Weaving) who convinces fellow drag queen Adam (Guy Pearce) and transgender friend Bernadette (Terence Stamp) to travel with him across the outback from Sydney to Alice Springs in a colourful tour bus dubbed ‘Priscilla’.

A bittersweet buddy comedy, Robot Dreams follows Dog, who is lonely, whiling away long evenings in his Manhattan studio apartment. Tired of his solitary life, he decides to purchase a friend, Robot, a fun-loving companion. After an idyllic day on the beach, they soon become separated. Devastated at the loss of his friend, Dog does everything in his power to get Robot back.

Lumas Winds is a dynamic, young chamber ensemble based in London. Winners of the 71st Royal Over-Seas League Mixed Ensemble Prize in 2023, Lumas are committed ambassadors for wind chamber music and the rich variety of repertoire that it offers. Alongside performing the classics of the repertoire Lumas enjoy exploring and making a case for works not currently in the canon but which deserve to be so.

Last year, 21 year old Archie Rowell ran the 96 mile Jurassic Coast in one go in aid of the suicide prevention charity, CALM – the Campaign Against Living Miserably. Join him and the team at this premiere screening of their short documentary in order to raise money for CALM, as well as a Q+A session to chat about the adventure/ordeal!

Join us for a day of singing as we attempt to fill the Art Centre with song for 12 hours straight and help us raise funds for Bridport Arts Centre. We invite you to be part of this special day, where there will be opportunities for choirs, groups and individuals to sing on the Arts Centre stage to a drop-in audience. Staff and Trustees of the Arts Centre will ensure that the singing never stops!

Squashbox Theatre presents a marvellous mix of history and mystery! Find out all about archaeology and fossils, say hello to one of your stone-age ancestors, hear stories of giants and wizards, see a volcano erupting before your very eyes, and maybe even glimpse a dinosaur or two…There will be lots of laughs, puppets, songs, slapstick, tall tales and crazy characters – all presented in that unique Squashbox style!

The Guy In The Luggage Rack is an aerial theatre show about grief, memory and relationship. This narrative show combines physical comedy with striking aerial acrobatics. Daisy wrestles (sometimes literally) with her grief - Ian, a 6 foot invisible bald guy with a lot of luggageeventually discovering that by letting him into her world she is able to reconnect with the memory of her mother.

Dorset based SISATA transports you to Neverland like you have never seen it before! Inspired by the Isle of Portland off the Jurassic Coast, meet the natives of Portland, pirates and smugglers and a prehistoric Jurassic monster intent on consuming the rest of Hook, in this playful and honest adaptation of J. M.Barrie’s timeless tale with original live music and song.

Set in picturesque Venice, this lighthearted operetta whisks audiences away to a world of romance, mistaken identities, and comedic chaos. With Gilbert’s witty lyrics and Sullivan’s catchy melodies, Illyria brings the characters to life with their impeccable comedic timing and exuberant performances. Love triumphs as the gondoliers discover that happiness lies not in noble titles but in the simplicity of true love.

A celeberation of the life and work of local artist and signwriter George Biles. Bridport Arts Centre is one of three venues hosting the month-long exhibition showcasing pantomime back drops, pictorial pub signs from Palmer’s Brewery and a variety of other works from local businesses and private collections. There is an opportunity to travel back in time to experience the perfect creative chaos of his studio and a pre-digital era when everything was drafted freehand by pencil and painted by eye.

Bridport 24 - Town of Culture is a celebration of the rich artistic ecology of the town, in an initiative that brings together the community, artists, festivals, venues, and cultural jewels of Dorset’s eventful town. From July to December 2024, a programme of skills development opportunities for young people will align with the town’s calendar of culture, offering young creatives active roles in co-curation, event management, artistic practice and much more. With collaboration at the centre of its ambition, the initiative will work to enhance, extend and promote the already rich cultural tapestry of this unique Dorset town.
