There’s also a Peewee division for riders with horses running 21 seconds or slower, with a $5 entry and 100% payback. Arena fee is $15 per horse per run. Celebrate Independence Day weekend with two days of highstakes rodeo action at the Freedom Bash in Taylor, Arizona, featuring WPRA- and BBR-approved barrel racing and breakaway roping. The event kicks off Friday, July 11 with breakaway roping and continues Saturday, July 12 with the barrel race. The Breakaway Roping on Friday includes $5,000 added money in the open division with a $250 entry fee.

testants may enter twice and will compete in two long rounds and a short go. Youth breakaway offers $500 added with a $100 entry fee, consisting of one long round and a short go. Buckles will be awarded, and there will be 70% payback.

On Saturday, the Barrel Race will feature $7,500 added in an Open 5D format, with $125 entry fees plus a $15 arena fee per horse. The race begins at 10:00 AM. There are side pots for Youth 18 & under and Senior 40 & over, both with a $45 entry fee and $500 added to each pot. Buckles will be awarded in each division and side pot. Pre-entries for barrels open June 1 and close July 7 via Saddlebook. A $25 late fee applies after July 7. No refunds or horse substitutions allowed. Barrel racing returns to Safford in a laid-back, rider-friendly setting at the Flying E Arena’s 2025 Summer Schedule, featuring three evening events under the lights on July 12th, August 16th, and September 6th, each beginning at 7:00 PM. The series includes an Open 4D Barrel Race with a low $40 entry fee, a 3D Youth Barrel Race for riders under 14 years old at $20, and Pee Wee Barrels for riders under 6 years old for just $10. An Open 3D Pole Bending Race is also available for $30. All participants will pay a $10 arena fee per rider. Exhibitions are offered at $1 for entered riders and $5 for non-entered riders. Books open two hours prior to race time and exhibitions start one hour before the race. These evenings are designed to be stress-free with a relaxed atmosphere and affordable pricing that welcomes all skill levels and ages.
