Aaron Tsinigine, PRCA Team Roper at the 2019 California Rodeo

One of the fastest runs in team roping header Aaron Tsinigine's ProRodeo career has been the record at the Parada del Sol rodeo in Scottsdale, Ariz., since 2009 when he and team roping heeler Bruce Reidhead combined for a 3.7-second run. Although Tsinigine finished 40th in the world standings that year, it set the stage for the Arizona cowboy's ProRodeo career that includes three trips to the National Finals Rodeo (2014-15 and 2018) as well as being crowned the 2015 Team Roping Heading World Champion. "I don't know, but I wish I could still be that fast and that was a long time ago," Tsinigine laughed when he found out about his record remaining untouched. "That might have been the first or second year of me heading." Tsinigine remembers that 2009 run well. "Everyone had gone and made their run and there was a 4-flat and a 3.8-second run, and we were in the last perf and I'd never been 3 (seconds) before so I didn't think we had any way we would be 3," said Tsinigine, 34. "That was one of those runs where you watch everything in slow motion and they say that slow makes perfect; and that's exactly what that run was." Tsinigine won Scottsdale again in 2014 with Derrick Begay as his roping partner. "That's kind of my hometown rodeo," Tsinigine said. "I've been there plenty of times and it's a lucky rodeo for me." Tsingigine's partner at the time, Reidhead, had been competing in the PRCA since 2005. He won $3,872 during the 2020 season thanks to scoring checks at Scottsdale, Kansas' Biggest Rodeo in Phillipsburg, and the Brawley (Calif.) Cattle Call Rodeo with Lane Stock. Tsinigine was 21st in the 2020 PRCA | RAM World Standings with $37,167 roping with different partners, including Kyle Lockett. "We (he and Lockett) were 3.7 at San Antonio in the finals (last week) but we tied for third," Tsinigine said. "Team roping is getting fast now. A 3.7 used to win first, but not any more." Cowboys have from March 5-7 to top Tsinigine and Reidhead's 2009 team roping record, and the rest, while earning their share of the prize money.
