Welcome to Bridgeway Livestock!

We are very proud of the Red cattle we are raising and sincerely appreciate that you have taken the time to get to know us.

We have been in the purebred Red Angus business since 2007, with the purchase of land near Kelso, SK., and bred females from KayMac Red Angus, DKF Red Angus, and Koran Stock Farms. Our first calf crop to carry the BWFX tattoo was born in 2008.

Since then, our group of consistently deep, wide based, easy doing females has evolved into a solid working team of mother cows. In 2011, we added a group of foundation cows from D Bar Angus.

In the early years, our yearling bulls were marketed through the Regina Bull Sale. As our herd has grown, so has our committment to grow business locally, and we looked for new ways to promote our bulls. Luckily, Darryl Logeot invited us into his Working Stiff’s Bull Sale in 2011. In 2013, the sale was moved to Smart Farms, north of Moosomin, SK.

We have been very successful with genetic selection. Our 2013 herd sires included Red Fraser Coyote 918W, Red D-Bar Windy 33X, Red K F Deal 39Y, and our 2013 High Selling Bull, Red BWFX Dynomite 10Z.

Our Simmental Program

We were very fortunate to cross paths with Ken Gilbert of Westgold Farms. For the past few years, Karl has helped him at bull sale time. Ken presented an opportunity of a lifetime: to help us build a herd of Simmental females and reap the rewards of his years of strategic selection. In December 2013, about 40 bred Red Simmental females arrived to Kelso after their journey from Minburn, AB. We couldn’t be more excited about the caliber of Simmental females that graced our pastures this summer, and we owe this to our friend and mentor, Ken.
