August 29th & 30th, 2013

Welcome to Bridgeway Livestock! We are very proud of the Red cattle we are raising and appreciate that you have taken the time to get to know us.

Bridgeway Livestock has been in the purebred Red Angus business since 2007, with the purchase of land, and bred females from KayMac Red Angus, DKF Red Angus, and Koran Stock Farms. Our first crop of calves to carry the BWFX tattoo were born in 2008. Since then, our group of consistently deep, wide based, easy doing females has evolved into a solid working team of mother cows. 2011 saw our wedding in this yard and the addition of a group of foundation cows from D Bar Angus. In the early years, yearling bulls were marketed through the Regina Bull Sale. As our herd has grown, so has our committment to grow business locally, and we looked for new ways to promote our bulls without halterbreaking each one. Luckily, Darryl Logeot invited us into his Working Stiff’s Bull Sale that year. In 2013, the sale was moved to Smart Farms, north of Moosomin, SK. Our annual sale takes place in March. Along with Smart Farms, we have been hitting the show road, exhibiting our finest at Manitoba Livestock Exhibition and Canadian Western Agribition. Watch for us in “The Yards” at Agribition this fall!

Last fall, we started a new joint venture in our cattle business - a partnership with Ken Gilbert of Westgold Farms - to form the beginning of our Red Simmental herd. We are really excited about this partnership! Watch for a sampling of our Red Simmental genetics at “The Yards.

WRAZ Red Angus is a fourth generation mixed cattle and grain operation with a land base of 2560 acres. We operate as a family operation with the full time help of Gordon Murray. The cattle operation consists of 160 Purebred Red Angus mother cows, 60 bred heifers and 70 retained replacement heifer calves. Our bulls sell in the annual CORNERSTONE – More Bang for Your Buck Bull Sale held at the Whitewood Auction Mart on the third Saturday in April. Watch for our females to sell in many of the fall sales around the country such as Red Round Up, Agribition, Keystone Klassic and Touch of Class. The one thousand acres used for annual cropping produces silage, grain and straw for the herd with the remainder of production sold into the cash market. The remainder of the acres are either native or seeded grass. We have been fortunate enough to date to make our living from this land base and look forward to the opportunity to display our herd to you during the tour! We would also like to extend an invitation to anyone who has the time during their stay to stop by and visit us again! - Phil, Lana, Kassandra, Rueben, Hannah, Azaria (H) (306) 739-2988 (C) (306) 577-7440 info@wraz.ca

We would like to take this opportunity to give you a little background about our history and program. Angus cattle have been a part of this family for over 60 years with my father and grandfather both raising black cattle under the Kenwaw farm name. Twenty five years ago, Shelly and I started Eastondale Angus. We now run 150 purebred black cows and breed 180 head annually on a land base of 1600 acres. We have moved to less A.I. but still do some using Black Angus sires who are chosen on both phenotype and must also have a well balanced set of EPD’S with higher accuracies. But we have tried to search out the best walking bulls we can, to try to get a more consistent end product that both ourselves and our customers will be happy with. We believe in a middle of the road approach we do not seek genetics of the extremes but feel if we stay down the center we and the people who might use our genetics will be better to adapt to change as it approaches us. We show cattle annually at Agribition. Our philosophy is a little different. Winning a class is great, but is not a high priority for us. We aim to have our cattle looking honest and real world in the barns and take time at shows to meet with past, present and future customers. We enjoy discussing our program, and hearing about others. Please stop by our stall and visit or if you are in our area at home please stop in for a coffee and see the whole program, we will be glad you did!

In 2008, an exciting change in our program was made. After marketing our bulls with a group for 20 plus years, we now hold our own Eastondale Angus Bull Sale offering Angus bulls only from our own program. The decision to have our own bull sale was made to better serve our customers. Our dedication to quality of service to our bull buyers, and the passion to produce the highest quality Black Angus seed stock that will work in our environment continues to increase with our new bull sale. Angus bull buyers - please check out our bull development program and data section for more info! Everyday is OPEN HOUSE DAY here. We would love to have you visit and show you what we have to offer. Thank you for taking the time to examine our program. We appreciate it! Whether its selecting and delivering animals, or simply discussing the success of the breed in todays beef industry, we are always eager to help. We encourage you to challenge your cow herd. Make them work for you and enjoy the bright future that our beef industry has to offer. Remember that the bulls and females you purchase today will influence the success of your operation for many years to come. Eastondale has taken a lot of the guess work out of buying quality livestock, providing a great deal of performance data to go with them to the pasture. Thank you for taking the time to examine our program. We appreciate it. Bull Sale will be held April 7th, 2014 Females Sell in Masterpiece Sale at CWA 2013 and Touch Of Class Female Sale held Dec 13th at Saskatoon as well as private treaty! Pursuing Efficiency! Welcome to the Angus tour and our ranch! The goal with our program is quite simple. Produce bulls for our customers with built in longevity and who are all similar in type and kind. Longevity is above all other traits, the one of highest economic importance. This is why we so heavily scrutinize our herd for calving ease, maternal function, mobility and fertility. A hands off policy, condensed breeding season and zero tolerance for poor udder and foot structure helps embed those traits of significance in all the cattle we produce. We hope you enjoy your stay and welcome you back anytime. - Trevor, Cheryl,Brett and Carter (H) 306 739 2924 (C) 306 577 9141 website: www.gbtangus.com

Mature Cow Herd Liquidation Selling All 2007 & Older Females

Johnson Livestock is a century farm, operated by David and Anne Johnson as well as their son and his family, Andrew and Laurie, Brielle, Maya and Desta. Located 2 miles north of Peebles, Johnson Livestock has grown to around 6000 acres of hay and pasture land, with a few forage cereals grown on a rotation to keep the hay land fresh. Livestock have always been the focus on this farm, from the purebred Herefords, to Simmentals, and the Holstein dairy herd. In the late 90’s the first Angus bulls were introduced and we have never looked back. With Angus we found we could run larger numbers with less work and still top the market with feeder calves. In 2003 with the commercial herd getting higher percentage Angus, the first purebred Angus cows were purchased. Today we run around 600 head of registered Angus females. Our breeding philosophy is simple, buy or breed to the best Angus bulls we can find and keep as many of the daughters as we can. We want to produce large sire groups of 1/2 and 3/4 siblings and keep them uniform. Our cowherd is becoming very closely bred with sires like Four Seasons, Net Worth, Final Answer, and Carbon Copy siring the base of it. Next we have identified three brothers Eliminator, Rito 1439 and Resource to take the next step with. With our cowherd numbers we can also experiment with a few new sires each year to get an idea of where we want to go and prove we are going in the right direction. This year we also have calves on the ground by Harvestor, Imprint, Potential, and Brilliance.

We hold an Annual Bull and Female sale on the farm, the third Thursday of March each year. In 2014 we will hold our eighth annual sale on Thursday, March 20. We will have similar numbers to this year when we sold 150 bulls and 34 females. A few of this years highlights include our highest ever selling bull to Lewis Farms for $37,500, JL Kelly 2232. Five other Eliminator sons were the next highest sellers, going to Edwards Angus, KBJ Farms, Glasman Farms, Dwajo, and Mark Zahacy. The top selling heifer was also an Eliminator selling to Rehorst Farms for $14,500. While it is great to have these high sellers it is our commercial base of the sale is the backbone of Johnson Livestock. We have enjoyed selling multiple bulls to repeat customers over the last 7 sales. One of the biggest J5, have purchased over 50 bulls here and I had the pleasure of touring their impressive all JL bull battery when I delivered there again this spring. So whether you need one bull or a whole pen of 1/2 brothers we have them and will stand behind our bulls.

The next years are going to be very profitable for cattle producers and we are very excited to apart of it. We believe our quality is improving every year, and with our large numbers we continue to be able to sell them affordably. We try to update our farm blog www.johnson-livestock.com weekly, so for the latest news on the farm check it out, or stop by for a tour and visit.
