February was an incredibly busy month here in Bridgewater. From Groundhog Day, Valentine’s Day, to Presidents’ Day and the Chinese Lunar New Year, it really feels like the pace of the year has begun to pick up steam. One of my favorite February events is the Bridgewater Commons Go Red Fashion Show and Family Health Festival. This fantastic collaboration between the Commons and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital showcases not only the amazing mall businesses, but cardiologists from RWJUH educate participants in best practices for our hearts’ health. The highlight of the day came as our local models walked the runway, dressed in clothes donated by the mall’s stores, with make-up and hair by the newly opened Tara Beauty Salon & Spa. My own two daughters, Emmanuella and Julia, graced the runway, and I was filled with gratitude for the outpouring of community support for such an important cause. As we look forward to March and the weather turning warmer, many things begin to happen in Bridgewater: - Our Yard Waste Site resumes normal operating hours on March 16th; - Registrations for spring and summer sports through Recreation; - And the first 2024 Citizen’s Police Academy Class is taking registrations.
