From its state-of-the-art, glass-walled studio at BRIC House in Downtown Brooklyn, BRIC TV delivers a bold lineup of documentary series, hyper-local news, politics, music, comedy, scripted series and more.

AIRS LIVE MONDAY – THURSDAY AT NOON BK Live starts its third season in our BRIC House studio, with the best in up-to-the-minute, hyper-local news, arts, events, sports and more! Our eclectic team of hosts introduces you to politicians and community advocates, photographers and bartenders, athletes and musicians — and then we head out into the borough to bring you the stories that capture the energy and complexity of Brooklyn today.

#BHEARD TOWN HALL BI-MONTHLY SPECIAL

BRIC TV hosts a who’s who of local politicians, activists, journalists and community members, gathered to unpack complex issues facing the borough and work towards a collective call to action. From Gentrification to Race & Policing, no topic is off-limits and no viewpoint is ignored.

MAZ & JUAN STRIKE BACK! AIRS MONDAYS AT 9:00pm

Democracy Now! for the millennial generation. Two investigative journalists, Murtaza Hussain (“Maz”) and Juan Thompson—both from The Intercept—get deep and personal about current events and existential topics. Special guests, like foreign policy analyst Rula Jebreal, political hip hop artist Pharoahe Monch, and filmmaker Stanley Nelson, help them challenge conventional media coverage.

AIRS WEDNESDAYS AT 7:00pm It’s our spin on the classic reporter roundtable, Brooklyn style. We take the talk to the bar as local journalists swap stories from the streets and give us their take on the news, Straight Up.

INSIDE THE SHAKER What’s the cocktail culture look like from the other side of the garnish tray? Which trends do bartenders think are cool? Which new locallymade spirits are they trying out? BRIC TV and host Ken Gray bring you behind the bar and Inside the Shaker.

BROOKLYN MADE AIRS MONDAY – THURSDAY AT NOON Brooklyn Made showcases the makers, builders, designers and artists who are turning Brooklyn into one of the most creative places in the world.

Last season we featured a tribal hairdresser, a taxidermist, a muralist and more…this season promises to be even more mind-expanding!

B. VINES Brian Vines is our guide to hidden worlds of Brooklyn’s subcultures. This personal documentary series explores everything from stolen bicycles and bed bugs to polyamorous life in Bushwick.

ON THE GRID WITH ZEPHYR TEACHOUT AIRS MONDAYS AT 8:00pm

Zephyr Teachout, 2014 Democratic gubernatorial candidate, with help from CUNY’s Center for Urban Research, is redrawing Brooklyn’s traditional neighborhood boundaries. Gone are the arbitrary borders of Gravesend and Sunset Park, Williamsburg and Fort Greene — instead, she’s exploring the maps of Brooklyn that tell the story of today’s demographics… From ‘Republican Brooklyn’ to ‘Yiddish Brooklyn’ and beyond.

B-SIDE

AIRS THURSDAYS AT 8:00pm BRIC TV’s live in-studio music series, featuring performances from Brooklyn’s hottest emerging and established musicians. B-Side is open to the public— come sit in the studio and get lost in the sound.

THE SHOW ABOUT THE SHOW AIRS MONDAYS AT 9:30pm

From award-winning director Caveh Zahedi, The Show About The Show is his self-referential scripted metaseries about a Brooklyn filmmaker trying to make a TV show. Co-starring Alex Karpovsky, Eleonore Hendricks, Dustin Defa and a who’s who of Brooklyn’s independent filmmaking community, the show tells the story of everything that can and does go wrong as Caveh tries to get a television series funded, produced, and distributed.

STAND UP BROOKLYN WITH GREG JOHNSON AIRS THURSDAYS AT 9:00pm

Host Greg Johnson showcases some of the city’s hottest emerging comics as they hit the stage during his weekly Stand Up night at Brooklyn bar Splitty. Featured comedians include DC Benny (Comedy Central Presents, Last Comic Standing) and John Early (Broad City, 30 Rock, Wet Hot American Summer 2015).

BROOKLYN IS MASQUERADING AS THE WORLD AIRS MONDAYS AT 8:30pm

Acclaimed filmmaker Terence Nance and Chanelle Aponte Pearson (An Oversimplification of Her Beauty), along with their team at media MOVMT, direct a lyrical portrayal of some of Brooklyn’s most fascinating and unconventional residents of the borough’s creative culture.

CHEF ROULETTE Take one professional chef, five surprise ingredients, a dash of culinary creativity, and voila — you’ve got Chef Roulette! This series pairs the city’s hottest chefs with the most eclectic food finds to create nosh-worthy grub for adventurous foodies.

BRIC CELEBRATE BROOKLYN! PLAYSET A playful new web series featuring artists from BRIC’s Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival, such as Vieux Farka Toure, Rhiannon Giddens, and Third World. Filmed at the Prospect Park Bandshell before they take the stage, the artists join our pint-sized host Little Jack on the lawn for a stripped-down performance and some good old-fashioned fun.

IN THE ZONE, BROOKLYN SPORTS The sports scene in Brooklyn is as varied as the people who live in the borough. From Rugby and Gaelic football to the PSAL football and basketball championships, In The Zone features hyper-local and in-depth sports coverage and commentary so you can relive the excitement and celebrate the athletes.

AIRS MONDAYS AT 1:00pm BK Stories is a weekly showcase for short films from around the borough, created by some of the area’s best producers and filmmakers The founder of a secret museum near the Navy Yard; an excommunicated Hasid adjusting to his new life; a biohacker with magnets in his fingertips—just three of the many BK Stories we bring you every week.
