Editorial Hi Everyone, Welcome to the 4th edition of our weekly guide. You will notice I have added, which will become a regular article “meet a local icon”. We are so blessed to have many people in our community that deserve recognition in some way. Whether they be a long time business owner or just a regular person that has helped make a difference in our community.

They may just be a colourful character that has a big heart and goes above and beyond helping others. Communities, I believe are often made up of hard working volunteers that newcomers to the Island, I’m sure would love to hear about. If you think of someone that you know of, that ts this description, please email or ring me, so I can share their story and help say thank you.

I’d also like to welcome all the visitors to our paradise as we are currently in the middle of school holidays. Let’s hope the Bribie weather treats them nicely. I will sign off this week with one of my favourite sayings….

Brett Beale – Bribie’s Fast Parcels Brett Beale’s parents Ross and Joan purchased the local courier business back in 1998 after moving to Bribie Island from Brisbane to get ready for retirement. Within a couple of years, their son Brett moved to Bribie and bought a home here and joined his dad in the business and they purchased a second Van. When Ross retired Brett took over the business and still owns and operates today, 20 years later, with his son Brendon.

Brett is what I call a lovable larrikin, loud and proud Aussie, loves his ACDC and always happy to have a laugh with you. He’s one of those big hearted fellows and is known to most of the local business community for getting your parcels delivered on time.
