On behalf of the Alabama Chapter of the Employee Assistance Professionals Association, I would like to welcome you to the 33rd annual ALEAPA conference! We hope you enjoy your week with us and at the beautiful Alabama Gulf Coast. Be sure to take some time and enjoy what is around you. ART HICKMAN is currently the CEO of a 96-bed residential treatment facility in Waynesville, Missouri. Art has long been affiliated with Alabama EAPA in a variety of capacities. He started out working in the substance abuse treatment field in 1995 and has worked in a variety of positions. Art brings an extensive amount of ethical experience that will captivate the audience.

PATRICIA JOHNSON is currently working in private practice. Pat worked for over 30 years with the Federal Government in the substance abuse field with military and family members. She is a huge proponent of self-care and has written and published a book recently on that topic.

ANNELIESE STROUP is the owner of I Hope Counseling Center in Birmingham, Alabama. She provides corporate and management trainings, non-clinical support, training for the military and is a CIS debriefing provider.

CAROL SINGLETARY is currently a Group Benefits Coordinator for L and R Wealth Management. She has many years in the EAP arena since 1997 working for the State of Alabama EAP program.

JASON STRICKLAND currently works for the State of Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Parole. He has been in law enforcement since 2002. His presentation is on point at this time as the current climate for law enforcement is highly stressful. He is involved in trainings for officers around the state.

ANGELO PANANAS is a Marketing Director of a facility in Pensacola, Florida. He has worked in the treatment field for ten years and will be sharing information on coping with chronic illness and death and dying. JESSICA ISBELL

NAN LaVECCHIA has been a part of the Cornerstone family for nearly a decade and works in the Aviation division with treatment and recovery. This is a unique program that works with individuals in the aviation field.

MATT McKENZIE is the acting Director of Clinical Services at Bradford Health Services. He was active in laying the ground work for the first Emerging Adult program in Alabama. He conducts motivational interviewing training around the professional field.

The Alabama Chapter of the Employee Assistance Professionals Association has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP #5601. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Alabama EAPA is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs. The Alabama Chapter of EAPA is an approved provider of Social Work continuing education (Alabama Board of Social Work Examiners), provider #0608. Approved for 20 Hours including 4 hours of ethics. This course has been approved by The Alabama Chapter of EAPA, as a NAADAC approved education provider, for education credits. NAADAC provider #82401. The Alabama Chapter of EAPA is responsible for all aspects of the programming. This program has been approved by EACC for continuing education/PDH credits.

The Alabama Chapter of EAPA is an approved provider of Alabama Board of Nursing continuing education, provider #ABNP1522 (nurses are encouraged to bring their CE cards). Nurses can receive up to 24 CE hours.
