In Three Images for Orchestra, I sought to create a short orchestral narrative depicting
three contrasting scenes from nature, specifically bearing the broad environmental landscape of continental America in mind. All nature is majestic, and the American landscape is certainly a gem amongst many in our world. From the dense, thick forests of Appalachia, spanning to the vast Great Plains, the grandness of the Rocky Moutains, and harsh deserts, all locked by the mighty seas of the Atlantic & Pacific Oceans in the east and west. America alone tells an incredible story through its complex natural tapestry.
Within these three scenes, I wanted to invite the listener to experience all of the elemental
aspects of each, drawing upon the ideals of beauty, adventure, and the element of
total freedom.
I also hope to invite the listener to contemplate the idea of space and time. I have often
found it amazing that while we are busy in our cities and towns, going about our daily lives,
