Panel Wall Types Construction Documents

STEP 1 •There are 3 different wall types involving these custom wall panels

STEP 2 •Start with a regular curtain wall •Click “Edit Type” from the Properties panel

STEP 3 •Duplicate the curtain wall •Name it appropriately •This will be the most commonly used panel wall type in the space

STEP 4 •This panel wall will have a fixed number of vertical mullions

•This will give you control to type it into the Properties Box as a parameter for each wall •Make sure the settings match as seen here

STEP 5 •In the Properties Box, check to make sure the settings seen here match yours •Note: The vertical grid number will dependent on where your wall type is drawn

•This number will be determined by looking at the SketchUp sample model and counting the number of panels in a given section

•Because the number is a grid, you will need to count the number of panels and subtract one for the Vertical Grid number as it pertains to the number of cuts

STEP 6 •You will need to create the horizontal mullions manually •To do this, click “Curtain Grid” under the Architecture tab

STEP 7 •Click to add the horizontal mullions at the measurements as seen here

STEP 1 •You will use the same type of custom curtain wall for the next wall type •However, you will use different settings in the Properties Box and not need horizontal mullions •Thes types of walls are found at the top of doors and above and below the boxed window

STEP 2 •Select this wall and make sure the settings match those seen here •Like before, the Vertical Grid wil vary depending on the location of the panel wall

STEP 3 •Example: Settings for the Boxed Window •Note: The panel walls above and below the boxed window are the same

STEP 4 •To create the top part of the panel wall, click the bottom panel wall and copy to your clipboard

STEP 5 •To paste, click the arrow under the Paste option •Click “Aligned to Same Place” •This will past the wall in the exact same place

•This will allow you to change the height offset and have it in the same alignment as the bottom panels

STEP 6 •Change the offset height to the following settings

STEP 1 •The last custom curtain will include one single panel •There will be no set vertical or horizontal grid in the settings for this wall type

STEP 2 •To create this panel, select a wall type and click “Edit Type” in the Properties Panel

STEP 3 •Duplicate the previously made wall type and name it accordingly

STEP 4 •Make sure the settings match those seen here

STEP 5 •In the Properties box, make sure these settings match here as well •Because this is a single panel, there will be no horizontal or vertical grid

STEP 6 •You will need to add the horizontal mullions manually •Click “Curtain Grid” under the Architecture tab to add them

STEP 7 •These horiontal mullion heights will match the rest of the panel walls

STEP 8 •To change the material of a single panel, tap tab into it •Select the panel type from the dropdown menu in the Properties Box
